This is why Arsenal has the most clean sheets, fewest goals conceded, fewest shots, lowest xG conceded. They stop attacks before they even have a chance to develop
@@thecharliegeorge2151 Similar basic principles, difference is they don't have a Declan Rice. Rodri is amazing but he can't cover ground and snuff out counter attacks like Rice can.
Great video. Mikel is a genius! His transition defence is impeccable. I'm a basketball coach and the influence of principles from other sports in Arsenal's game is becoming more and more apparent with every passing game
Defending high up the pitch and breaking opponent's play quickly, boxing in opponents, subtle but firm defending even by attackers - an aspect of Arsenal's game that's easily taken for granted. Thanks for this great video - Subbed!
Great content. Actual videos of the main points makes it so much clearer to understand vs other content creators that only use slides and arrows. All the good examples of each point really help.
This is something I've noticed dominant teams have done since Liverpool's 1970s-80s, Nottingham Forrest under Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, AC Millan 1990s, and Barcelona 2000s. It could take years to learn and become second nature since players come in with habits good and bad.
Newcastle vs arsenal first half was probably the most dominant match I have ever watched live. It was actually crazy how completely shut down Newcastle were.
What a great video for a novice like me. Excellent analysis with simple yet very clear explanations which are easy to understand. Very well made. Thank you.
Perfect analysis with high quality examples that genuinely prove the recipe for success defensively for Arsenal, not just the famous clips we see everyday but the small details you only see when you look closely. Hats off to you 🙌
thats why we need young, disciplined and passionate group of players to be able to do these kind of ground work. what the board, edu & arteta done has been nothing but a wonderful journey. even if we don’t win it this year we can try again next season. we are so proud to be an arsenal fan and challenging with the top teams again. #COYG 🔴⚪️
Sometimes it’s not always about tactics, it’s about desire and effort. These players are willing to put in the work which is why they are so effective in stoping counter attacks
Put together the some teachings of gegenpressing, some elements of possession-based attacking football and exercise some physical dominance at set pieces, you get this season's Arsenal. Throw in the humility of our coach - the willingness to sit deep and counter like a lower league side, it's no wonder our head-to-head with rival Top 6 is the best. No need for stubbornness to play "pretty football". It's a shame that some of our performances were marred by individual errors and lack of clinical finishing, else we might have more of a shout for the title now.
Mikel combining the Moyes, Guardiola and Wenger's playing styles in both attacking and defending while also knowing when to encompass that Klopp's gegen-pressing is the reason Arsenal is going to dominate the league in the near future if he stays. Can't wait to see the monstrous team he'll unleash in 24/25.
Next season arsenal will be some team they might just be the hardest ever team to beat because the defence to attack and attack to defence is already immaculate. What the hell are we about to see when these players and this manager are a year smarter and a year stronger goodness gracious
This team has to be maintained,it has been so good. Can you imagine man city hasn't scored a goal against arsenal in the league for the first time under arteta.

they all do it, saka, kai, its part of what arteta calls his "non negotiables" just cos you score or assist regularly in the front line, doesn't mean you don't track back and support the defense with every loss of possession for this arsenal side..
Right about trossard. Totally agreed. He seems to be chronically underrated and most everything but goals off-the-bench. He's legit everywhere, honestly. A coach's dream 👍🏾 But you're also wrong... Wrong to signal out Martinelli, because Martinelli isn't given enough credit either, ESPECIALLY for his defensive quality or work rate.
If Havertz was deployed at his current position since beginning of the season, we would have won the league already. Those loses against Villa & Fulham were hard to swallow, not to mention being cheated against Newcastle.
You don't know that. Pretty clear Havertz came in with no confidence at all, & took a while to learn the Arsenal system. It's easy to say things like that, or if Partey was fit the whole season, if Timber didn't get injured etc. but hindsight is 20/20. Just win the last 2 games, & hope for a spursy miracle, all we can do.
On the contrary, they will get better at it and won't burnout easily. The secret now is to have a good bench that can guarantee same thing as some boys have to go. They let the team down
I enjoyed you showing the actual footage and not on tactical pad or sth that's not relatable Great insights How do you stay away from YT Copyright algorithms though? Well done 😊
We have best defense but more loss than our title rivals what the hell💀💀 stats say this we have conceded least but table doesnt say about our defense. We are good against traditional top 6 this season but what about others our best defense gives us more losses than our rivals like man city who we say there defense isnt good?
Tuchel's an extremely good manager, especially in Europe but a 3-2 win on aggregate is hardly "schooling" when up against a manager in their 1st CL campaign, is it now?😂

Any chance why Man City are hard to score against ?

If the keeper has to save a shot, that means his teammates have failed their defensive duties.

We've been very injury free so far thankfully, let's hope that continues 🙏
Really enjoyed this. Thank you mate
Now I understand why players like Ozil and Auba won't fit into this Arteta system.

Agreed 100%. Total and utter dominance, they could get past the half line.

@luthfan9395 Ahh, okay, good advice. I didn't know that.
Arteta said any player who is unwilling to suffer each time he plays for arsenal is not an arsenal player
it is not mikel but the players who remains are the ones who play with the badges not ego, thats why mikel let auba and ozil go despite losing money
trossards defensive work, especially in the counter press is going unnoticed, we all talk about martinellis defensive work.

Stamina is a must
The whole team defends as a unit
Adding Bruno G to this would be illegal
Arsenals box defense is very effective
i hope Arsenal can buy Guimaraes next season.. and we have wall after wall defense next season
