    When applying gold leaf and after the glue dries, use a very soft brush instead of your fingers. It is easier to control what you are doing. This is also how we do this on glass. Also, take your time and don't breath to hard.

    Which glue worked best for you? I've tried the Mona Lisa and gold leaf sheet and I get this burning looking after a day or two of applying it to my acrylic surface.

    Aren't you supposed to let the glue dry until it's tacky and then lightly dab the gold flakes onto the tacky surface? I have used gold flakes the past and that was what the instructions said to do.

      Holy! I did not see that. But I will try next time. It worked so far for me although it does stick to my hands. I'm going to try your suggestion. Thank you!!!!

    You can just crumble up the sheets if you want to make your own flakes.
