Its not just the park that they have made improvements to, they have also spent a lot of money on doing a new adventure golf course and a big wheel outside the park which enhances the whole area and provides something for non riders and for people who dont want to enter the park or dont have the time. I agree with you that they are making a big effort with the limited budget that they have, i can see this park getting more permanent rides in the future and if they do get a new rollercoaster it will put them on the map and maybe people will want to visit both Southport and Blackpool together.
The Viking Golf looked excellent!
They’ve made huge improvements and it’s great to see 😁
Went to the circus nearby today (which was excellent) and the new golf and big wheel area next to the miniature railway looked really tidy.
Great to see Becca on the last 2 vlogs, lovely young lady. And I bet Becca agrees with me. Christmas is the best time of the year😊.... Nice to see Southport spending a few quid. We always always goto pleasure beach. Might have to try something new.
Thank you 😊
Always good to do some different parks alongside the regular places.
I have such good memories of the indoor Funhouse from the 90's - I was so gutted when that closed. You don't really find those attractions now.
Think the insurance costs on those would be crazy now 😢
The new rides at Southport look good hope you both enjoyed your time there Scott
We did thank you Chris, probably a lot more than either of us expected to do
@@yourexperienceguide will they be there in 2024? im a bit confused they aren't featured on the website
@@Competent-rides Not sure sorry
Went here on the bank holiday Monday, they have done a good job on the new area looks a lot better now and not so run down
Agreed
Visited in 2019 for the first time since it had reopened, and on my return visits in 2021, and 2022 plus watching your vlog today you can easily see the improvements made the last few years.
Definitely mate, I hope they can continue with it
I can tell that Southport Pleasureland has new rides especially the thrill ones!
🙏
This park has come on a long long way from the state it was left in when Norman Wallis took it over. Plus for a while there was an issues of how long he would have the land for. I do remember the first year it re opened and it was just a massive fun fair on some gravel
I think that random section by the see front needs some major work as it does do the park justice. Beach goes will just see a travelling fun fair
I’m hopeful when the new coaster opens they completely overhaul that area because it doesn’t look great.
Aww it's nice to see southport, pleasureland, we went a lot when I was younger, it's a nice change, so sad about the cyclone, never thought they would demolish it
It was good to visit 😅
@@yourexperienceguideYes it was nice to see again Scott and becca, enjoyed watching
A park with not one, not two, but THREE frisbee rides. My god
Yeah it’s too many really
Pairing James May socks with Stan Smith's, i think it will soon catch on. Loved the video once again, hope Becca back to full strength soon.
A classic combination 😅
Top vlog thanks for sharing 👍
I can't believe they got rid of the cyclone.
With all the hype ongoing about Hyperia, Nemesis reopening and the new additions at Drayton Manor and Legoland Windsor next year, it's nice to see someone hasn't forgot that Southport are planning to open a new 'coaster in 2024.🤣🤣👍👍
Great video Scott and Becca 😊 it's so good to see some investment being put into Pleasureland, I used to love that place when I was a kid, loads of happy memories 😊
Thank you 🙏 I jokingly said to Becca if we win the lottery I’ll offer to get them a new S&S tower like they used to have 😂
@@yourexperienceguide haha 😄 that would be ace
We feel your pain guys, seeing everyone off to Orlando and wall to wall HHN vids 🥺.
Southport is 20 mins for us and Cyclone was my first rollercoaster 🎢 probably about 44 years ago. Rides have improved a bit since then .😆🧱👍🏽🎢
It’s got me thinking I’ve got to find a way to go in 2024!! 🥲
Great video Bicko & Becca.
The park really does look like its come on leaps & bounds since last year.
Great to see!
Be interesting to see if that new coaster is built for 2024.
Thank you, and here’s hoping for that coaster
What? How long has Discovery Bay been open for? I thought it got delayed and only just opened this weekend. And what's going on with Enigma? It has a counter-weight but doesnt go upside-down... Niether did the Booster for that matter.
What happened to the zamperla thunderbolt they were supposed to be getting? Seemed there was a bunch of hype a couple of years ago now nothing.
I’m certain I read Norman Wallis said it wasn’t a Zamperla that they’ve got on order
All went very silent on that happening... would have been a copybif the coney island one awesome to see ... hope it happens
@@antondoesbolton RCDB still have a new coaster for 2024 listed on Pleasureland’s page 🤞🏼
Your reaction to the jumpscare mate 😂😂😂you turned cockney 😂😂😂
😂 Alrite geezer
They had lanyards
😊
I'm all for amusement parks playing the foo fighters ❤
Same
That booster is taaaaaame 😆
It wasn’t the best
We only live a few miles away and went in June on an emergency services staff discount day (care of my wife’s job).
They’ve really upped the park’s look this year and smartened it up. It used to be a bit tatty but this year, wow, they’ve made some real improvements and it’s looking smart.
The free walk on was a bit of a surprise however.
The 2 new rides were under test when we went and that part of the park was cordoned off, but for what we paid for the discounted tickets we weren’t too bothered.
The staff were really friendly at the park and it’s worth a day out. They’ve been having themed characters over the summer, “Captain Jack Sparrow” was there when we were.
Shame the Rocket was closed, it’s pretty good.
You got off light on the log flume as my lad and I got soaked 💦
There is talk locally about there being plans for a large coaster along the sea front… should be good and the local authority, Sefton MBC, seem onboard.
Here’s hoping they can get the new coaster 🤞🏼
@@yourexperienceguide There's plenty of room for it.... with the pier being closed they should do it off the end of there 😉
@@loftlegacy They’ve probably got as much free space to use as any other park, hope they start using it soon 🤞🏼
awesome vlog
Thank you 🙏
This park would make a great place for an RMC. Hopefully they get more funding. A single rail or wild moose would be great with their space
We were tempted to visit the park on our last visit but like you we only had a couple of hours spare and the wristband would be a struggle to get value for money from as with the exception of big coasters we ride things only once, we might get 27.50 worth of rides but would be under pressure to feel we had done so. That big coaster arrives and I think there would be no doubt it felt value. Liked that there was a lot more green space in the park than I recall previously and really liking your extra coverage recently.
£27.50 is too much for one person especially whilst there’s rides out of action. A new permanent coaster is desperately needed I think.
It’s been a challenge transitioning to 4 uploads a week but I’m a lot more organised with my upload plans from mid September onwards 😅
I seen u yesterday and i was the one who said really big fan i was really happy to meet u and i loved ultra and the views of the beach
Thank you 🙏 Enjoy the rest of the year 🎢
ME AND MY FRIEND SAW YOU FILMING THERE!
Hope you had a good day
Great vlog and great to see the park looking good. I don't live far but I haven't been in a while myself. It would be good to see it thrive and hopefully some smart additions in coming years could help.
Becca made a great point about coming from Scotland and if so you wouldn't continue past Blackpool to visit Southport, I always felt this must have been an issue for them and that by 2006, it was just too much like a mini BPB anyway for me, it needed its own identity. They had a mini shot tower, old BPB rides, even Blackpool's River Caves soundtrack was added to Southport's etc. Hopefully it can kick on and be a destination people may want to seek out. Southport council sorting the Pier out as well would be a good thing but that is a bit off topic.
Totally agree that it felt like an inferior BPB, but I did like the Space Shot 😂
I never rated the Cyclone.
@@yourexperienceguide I know what you mean. It is much missed but it wasn't an exceptional ride. It had a poor first drop, was then snail pace slow through the turnaround...but then picked up and had some decent little drops towards the end. What I liked about it though was in-car re-rides and they used to put the last carriage of the train on backwards! 😀👍
We was there yesterday, the viewing of the second ride we was queing behind you when the kid asked you if you was you 😅 so just searched you up haha and surprising given the sky it never did rain
Hope you had a good day 😀
I’m going in 2 weeks I’m so excited 🎉😊
Famous last words 2:58
What did I say? Lol
It’s been a while since I last went to Southport id go and try the new rides but it depends how restrictive the restraints are, if the are tight and small it won’t be worth my time
Enigma was tight ish, the booster was roomy.
Wow I knew nothing about the new themed area so it can’t have been open long
Likewise! I’d heard they might be opening new rides but was surprised seeing the changes
Still no sign of that approved new Zamperla coaster?
Last I heard it was confirmed not to be Zamperla but we’ll have to wait and see I guess 😅
@@yourexperienceguide Well the drawings showed a Thunderbolt model so we have to wait and see I guess
@@DJWezzyK I remember, but also I’ve seen this “Per Norman Wallis this will not be a Zamperla built Thunderbolt as some rumors claim”
Hi Shaun. Just to let you know for future reference. If you email the park before you get there and let them know your are vloging the park they will give you free tickets for the park, the big wheel, the Viking golf and the miniature railway. Because they really appreciate the publicity for the park.
Hey it’s Scott here, thank you! I’ll maybe email next time but I don’t mind helping out by putting some money into the park. Thank you 🙏
Before you had to use cards to go on rides
Talking about the old pleasure land, do you have any old footage of frontier land in morecambe?
Sadly not. I was very young when it was open
@pleasurebeachexperience. same but I remember enjoying the wooden coaster
There’s footage on TH-cam from Frontierland, sadly when it closed vlogging wasn’t a thing and people didn’t have phones with cameras back than
Your language on the Ghost Train 😆😆😆
Terrible 😂
What's that 'Paradox Engine' ride at 15:32? Is it a Miami in a shed?
Yeah exactly that 😅
you've got nice socks scott
Lol thank you
I love your channel, always loved rollercoasters. I'm 61 yrs young. Love Blackpool pleasure beach still go on all the rides went on the big one when it first opened way back in 1994, also the revolution in 1979 got a certificate for riding it. I wish they would bring back free entry as my wife is disabled, so can't see me go on the rides. I much prefer your vlogs compared to theme park worldwide he thinks he knows everything about rides hes such a idiots. Again thanks for your vlogs which I find interesting, and informative and always a good laugh. Ian from Derby
Thanks Ian 🙏 Great memories from BPB
Looking at the views of the park when you were on the Booster, there is a lot of scope to develop and add new rides to the park. They just need a major rollercoaster to attract the crowds in and it will go from strength to strength. I'm also Team Becca when it comes to the Halloween stuff - what a load of rubbish - just not interested. I don't watch those vlogs, sorry.
Back in the days when BPB ran the park all of the space was used. I really like the Halloween season but accept it’s not for everyone.
Tip toe walker
Eh?
Pleasure land is what I describe as a shadow of its former self. Like Morecambe it was the poor relative of nearby Blackpool and suffered accordingly. When you destroy the wooden coaster and rip the place apart and replace things with essentially touring portable rides it's never going to be as attractive as nearby alternative destinations.
It was great in the 70s and 80s but was let down by lack of investment.
BPB haven’t operated it since 2006 so can’t really be blamed for the current status, the new owner/operator have had a long time to do what they need to do.
I think it’s clear to see there’s some improvement now.
becca gone for the Harry Potter / Lesbian dinner lady hair cut now I see
Every time you comment on the channel you have a pop at Becca, what’s the problem?
