    This car insn't comparable to Chevelle, you were right with your first saying, it is comparable wioth Chevy Nova, Buick Apollo and Olds Omega in these era. Thank's and have a good day, Daniel

    That's a Poncho 350. Different beast than the Chev 350 which has literally all the aftermarket support. The Poncho not so much. It has a smaller 3.875 bore so putting bigger flowing heads with big valves is not as easy. Still worth a rebuild if not looking for max power. This one looks like it is in pretty good shape and well worth the effort to put it back on the road. It might piss off the Pontiac guys but drop a Chevy 350 in it with a four speed, leave the patina as it is and have some fun!

    I've restored 2 , yes they are the cousin of the Nova , however in my experience a little more complicated to restore than a Nova there's not as many restoration parts available, I've had to use a lot of nova parts especially interior.

    • @TheREALOC1972
      @TheREALOC1972 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep I was going to say the same thing. I just bought my 2nd one. The only different is the front clip and the 350 motor, The Nova had the "Duke" engine and the Pontiac had a "Poncho" engine and the Poncho engine was absolute shit, 220 hp compared to 245-255 depending on who did the dyno in the Chevy Duke because Pontiac was getting out of the performance game. The first one I had was a 2 door and I took the Poncho out and puta Duke in it, and then sold the Poncho to a friend of mine that was building a 48 Pontiac coupe hot rod and wanted a newer engine. The one I just bought is a 4 door and I'm just going to build a daily driver with it so I'd rather have the better MPG so I'm just going to rebuild the Poncho because I'm not looking to hot rod it, I just want to build a cool daily driver/cruise-in/cars and coffee car. I'm gonna paint it that Mint Green that Chevy used on the Berretta in the mid-late 80's with the V in the hood/front clip Black with Black interior because the Interior is in good shape and I don't wanna change it.

      @@TheREALOC1972the sj I have was actually low mileage, an old lady had it from 76 until 2012. It has the Buick 350 which was difficult when I was doing research. But all the numbers matched. It was a nightmare to restore tho, I was having to buy nova parts, Pontiac parts , and Buick parts. The car was not a pretty sight tho, faded out orange ragged white interior, I pretty much replaced all that

      @@freedomisntfree2089 Oh I agree, The 4 door I just bought has nova buckets and center console, I think GM saw that coming though because nothing on the seats or the console says "Nova" so I think they did that on purpose because they knew people would rebuild the Ventura in the future but the Nova was the one that pushed for sales.

  • @s277garage6

    I gotta say, price wise, the Ventura is only 5-15k for a decent example,
