      Frankly I think they and atgames need to be bought out by Embracer Group
      The reason I say that is because honestly as it currently stands neither side truly benefits the consumer
      You either have an amazing muticade that has the functions you want
      OR
      a lesser quality cabinet that looks far better in a game room with two or three lined up together
      Plus really good online mutiplayer and licensed games

    • @donaldduck73
      @donaldduck73 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Additionally arcade1up badly wants expand beyond it's arcade roots
      This where atgames Excels at as they could be a Pinball machine, a home console or frankly even a phone app
      Everything is atgames
      But in comparison the infinite game table and slot machine is seen throwaway concepts by arcade1up due to what they are known for

    • @donaldduck73
      @donaldduck73 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lastly we could finally get benefits that iiracde wanted to have
      In the form of a online store for more games
      Something atgames is trying for but still no sega,namco or capcom properties to gain from it
      Although they do nearly have snk in their pockets
      Seeing as you can stream many of their top rated hits on the service

    I'd like to know more about that Hatchimals reference that I think Travis MCP threw out there first... I've dug and dug and can't find any trace of Scott Bachrach being part of that. Hatchimals were launched in 2016 and were still going strong with new product lines in 2017. But the origins of Arcade1Up were ALSO in 2017... selling Hatchimals to fund Arcade1Up during the peak of Hatchimals' popularity doesn't make sense.
    What we DO know from public interviews is that Scott's original claim-to-fame was making some of the first South Park toys, then stuff with Ozzy, Teletubbies, etc., all of which made him a "trend" toy company. But that market was dwindling, and the gaming market was growing, hence the shift to at-home gaming in 2017, with the first retail product releasing in 2018.
    All of which to say, while Scott B. is clearly profit-driven, I'm not sure he has a buyer interested enough for it to make financial sense for him to sell, unless somebody like Walmart was going to step in and start making their own stuff. I mean, who would really have the infrastructure (and interest) in managing all of A1U's licenses... i.e., the thing that's arguably the most valuable aspect of their brand? It won't be a game publisher. An electronics company would see this as small potatoes. A retailer might, but it's a lot of overhead. The only companies that make sense to me are ones like AtGames or MyArcade or NewWave or something. And of those, no one except AtGames could probably come close to offering enough money.
    I do think you make several good points, and there have been a lot of moves this year that seem odd, so it's certainly plausible. I just don't know if all these things mean they're selling, or that it's just Arcade1Up being Arcade1Up... haphazard and completely failing to communicate. Either seems possible.

    Well, if a bunch of 20 somethings take over Arcade1up, it'll run for about six months, to a year, and be bankrupt, and all assets sold off. They'll run it right into the ground, because they haven't a clue what the older gamers want, and they'll make a boat load of cheap, cheesy, plastic toys, which will end Arcade1up's existence. I've seen it happen EVERYTIME a bunch of teens, and 20 somethings take over a business. They're not ready, and haven't the experience to run a company like Arcade1up. NEVER hire ANYONE under 50 to run a company. SERIOUSLY! I worked for a factory, and watched it go down the drain, once management thought younger minds might make the company profitable. Sent them into bankruptcy, and put me out of a job.

    Arcade 1 Up went from stupid to stupid. You produce an arcade machine that needs a riser for ADULTS to play. Yes those adults will possibly have children that they want to introduce the games to, but you can just buy a chair for them to sit at a full size arcade cabinet. The new deluxe models still seem a bit too small and really it is still a riser, just in a different form. Atgames hurt their margins by treating gamers like adults and giving them adult products. A machine that can play thousands of games and not just a handful. If Atgames took over 1up and released cabinets with better artwork, then I would want to create my own arcade rather than just buying one cabinet. I was looking at doing that with the deluxe products, but I only really want specific cabinets and unless they release a lot of stuff, then I would be selective in my pickings. However, 1up forgot that the World is a big place, it is rare as rocking horse poo to find a UK stockist and then the price is massive compared to the states.

    In my opinion, Arcade1up will never be sold. They have created far too large a fan base and far too much in the past. Such indications that you mention often have the following reason: that investors are only willing to give more money if the company presents a business plan. And there you have to show how more sales can be made. This then leads to measures such as product changes, personnel changes, etc. But that does not necessarily mean selling the company. Rather the opposite.
