    My horse is American Pharaoh’s uncle. He is by Empire Maker and Adoration. His career was one race and got hurt. Went to rehab, I adopted him and have had him for seven years. His job now is running wild horses. He is a great horse. His Jockey Club name is Deification but I call him Lucky.

    Beautiful Colt. It's great he gets to be near his Dad.

    Great handler! He did a quite a job of making that colt feel a little more secure and knew when to offer release.

    Goodlookin' colt. Love his active ears. They have the slight curl of great thoroughbreds. Think St. Simon. Beautiful head.

      Phyllis Arrington grey horses are born darker. The tell tale signs that they will be grey are grey hair ring around the eyes , muzzle & grey hair at the top(dock) of their tail.
      My grey horse was born a Chestnut.

      I had a horse that was born brown and by the time he was 7 he was almost pure white. Funny story for a time he looked a bit pink due to the red brown hair and the white hair mixing. Lol

    • @lexdrivecam4187
      @lexdrivecam4187  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Angel girl I would put money on justify, but I haven’t studied the field yet. Betting on Justify to win is not a smart bit because the odds will not be good. So the best bet would be to pair justify into an exacta or trifecta box.

    Not all offspring offspring of triple crown winners win another triple crown. I wonder if Justify offspring will do the same. Justify has only run 5 times and never lost a race.

    • @marysueeasteregg
      @marysueeasteregg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gallant Fox is the only Triple Crown winner to have sired a Triple Crown winner, Omaha -- unless you count Affirmed having sired Peteski, who won the Canadian Triple Crown, consisting of the Queen's Plate, Prince of Wales Stakes, and Breeders' Stakes.
      Seattle Slew son Swale won the Derby and Belmont. Secretariat son Risen Star won the Preakness and Belmont. I don't think any other sons of Triple Crown winners have won 2/3 of the series, but I may be mistaken.
      Most of the Triple Crown winners haven't been great sires of racehorses, the exceptions to that being Seattle Slew, War Admiral and Count Fleet. Secretariat was respectable as a sire of runners, and great as a broodmare sire.
      Justify has retired undefeated in six races, having won the Belmont and Triple Crown. Not enough races, IMO, to have established that he was truly great. It will be interesting, however, to see how successful he is at stud, because his own sire, Scat Daddy, was establishing himself as a terrific sire prior to his death in 2015 at the age of 11 -- he had 4 sons from his last crop in the 2018 Kentucky Derby, including the two favorites, Justify and Mendelssohn.

    • @marysueeasteregg
      @marysueeasteregg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Smogger911 Re Scat Daddy: well, precocious speed is what the blasted breeders want, after all, a quick payoff on their investment. His babies were doing very well overseas, from what I've read.
      We're not going to see heavy weights assigned again, that's for sure. Or distance, at least on dirt, with the Belmont sadly the last remaining 12 furlong race in the U.S. on dirt. A lot of U.S. classics winners get sold overseas for stud duty, U.S. breeders aren't much interested, unless it's an actual Triple Crown winner. There's way too much emphasis on that 3-race series, for still-developing 3-year-olds. I was rooting against Justify winning the TC (did root for Pharoah, thought he was the best candidate since Spectacular Bid. And at least he did beat good older horses handily.) I'd have been fine with Accelerate as HOY. I'll gnash my teeth when Justify goes into the Hall of Fame. For years now I've been wishing the next Triple Crown winner would be a gelding, that would be a finger to the breeders. Wish Shared Belief had stayed healthy . . . I'm not the only one who thinks he was likely better than California Chrome. But a cloud of misfortune seemed to follow him.
      The horses you mentioned, with the exception of Seattle Slew, all did something else I admire: they proved they could run well on dirt and turf.

      Justifys unbeaten record isnt impressive. The crop of 3 year olds in 2018 werent that good, Justify raced against shit horses. Weakest triple crown winner ever.

      @@ingridvpolor6383 Justify was juiced up and the racing industry covered it up until it was exposed, any horse that has to be juiced isn't a high caliber horse imo. He didn't break any track records and his owners/trainer knew he'd lose against older horses, that's why he didn't run in any races after the Belmont.

    • @DoubleDogDare54
      @DoubleDogDare54 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Grays are born a dark base color and the gray color breaks as they age. Some break very young and are obviously gray as weanlings. Others not until they are mature horses.
      The half to him, Caravaggio, is also gray but has been very slow to break color. While he was racing he looked brown/dark bay. But he is a gray and his color is now slowly breaking at the age of six. This colt will be the same way.

    Sad day for horses being bid on by humans who run for money. How many horses must die behind the scenes before this atrocious betting and racing activity is banned?

    • @hannahc6049
      @hannahc6049 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yvan willard It's an auction, a top notch one too, where horses are bought. It's not some small, kill pen auction where kill buyers are waiting. As far as breakdown, the rate is approx. 1.5%. OTTBS make up a fraction of the kill pen horses, there's far kess of them than AQHs. The Jockey club is pretty open about things if you look.

    You should not put your horse up like that at all or any horse the foal is scared. The foal should not have a bit in it's mouth it is clearly abused and the worst part is that if no one buys this horse or shall i say foal it is going to be sent to it's death. We should really stop this who ever is there are idiots and abuses that poor poor baby horse i feel so so so bad for this baby.

    • @hannahc6049
      @hannahc6049 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      athanasia Dimopoulos This colt cost millions to breed, they take good care of the babies. At the big studs, they get top notch care. They don't abuse them. He's a yearling, at his first "show", so he's nervous but isn't abused. Most yearlings at sport horse shows also show with a bridle, it's nothing bad as long as it's done right. Overall, he's a nice colt, and that means he probably has a good future ahead as a race horse.

      This colt will live better than most of the PEOPLE posting on this thread. I'm sure he'd prefer not to be set "free" to fend for himself (aka starve, get sick or injured, die). He'll have a staff of humans catering to his every need.

    • @aliciakittrell4039
      @aliciakittrell4039 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true. He's a gorgeous colt and they will treat him very well. He will get the best food, training and care. Unless of course he breaks down and doesn't work out at stud. A small percentage with famous pedigrees are lucky to avoid the kill buyer at some small town auction. Hopefully it works out for this lovely boy.
