I'm glad Chris Evans and Chris Pratt both signed on with Marvel. When the first Captain America film came out, Evans was the only reason I watched it. Everybody knows him as Cap now but the roles he's taken that are nothing like Cap show what a great actor he is. Cap has the potential to be as off-putting as Superman but Evans brings a humanity to the role that makes it relatable for the rest of us. Also, I don't know why, I'm just a really big fan of Chris Evans.
I though Chris Evans' reason would be because he already played a Marvel hero- the Human Torch in the "Fantastic Four" films, and the failure of that might have turned him off doing hero roles in the future.
He gave me the best advice ever. 'I'd tell myself shh!' I do that now to slow my brain down and stop it racing away. Close my eyes sit for a minute and just tell it shh.

TheSuperNats are you kidding me. There is a reason they call it hollyweird. They try to get actors out of their sexual comfort zone. They hire gay actors to play straight romes and hire straight actors to play straight roles.

It's not the fact that Marky Mark didn't wanna make out with a dude that makes home homophobic. It's the fact that he said the script made him feel "creeped out" that makes him homophobic.
Grant Greider Well yea, how would you feel making out with someone of the same sex as you knowing you're not gay? Creeped out duhh its not in your comfort zone, so its weird to him. Doesn't make him a homophobe because of it
of course it does, isn't what acting supost to be? play a character different of yourself? Or when he plays a gangster whose kill's ppl he's in his confort zone?
disagreeing with gay "choices" doesn't make u a homophobic but the reasons why u did it may describes u as one and also why would someone care about others beliefs especially when those beliefs are the reason of why society rejects you?
no it doesn't it just makes him straight. The script involved him kissing another guy and simulating sex with another man, reading that would make the majority of straight men feel creeped out. it's no different than denzel turning down seven because it made him uncomfortable.
Don't forget Double Indemnity (1944), where the role of Walter Neff was turned down by Alan Ladd, James Cagney, Spencer Tracy, Gregory Peck, Fredric March and even George Raft! Fred MacMurray (who at first thought would seem to be entirely unsuited for the role) was reluctant too and told director Billy Wilder "You're making the mistake of your life!" Playing a serious role required acting, he said, "and I can't do it." Wilder kept at him until he finally agreed to play the part. Later, MacMurray said "I never dreamed it would be the best picture I ever made!" and worked with Wilder again in an off-character role in the Oscar-winning film The Apartment (1960).
It wasn't just Jude Law and Josh Hartnett who both turned down the role of Superman. Ashton Kutcher also turned down the role due to scheduling conflicts with 'That '70s Show' and the fear of both typecasting and the Superman Curse. David Boreanaz auditioned for the role as well but he too turned it down due to obligations to 'Angel'. And they weren't going for 'Superman Returns' - they were going for a different kind of Superman movie that sacrilegiously disregarded the original DC Comics mythology. In that script Krypton didn't explode and instead experienced civil war; meanwhile as Jor-El was going to be sentenced to prison he sent baby Kal-El on a rocket to Earth to fulfill a prophecy. That movie, as any superhero geek here I hope would remember was titled 'Superman: Flyby'. The script was written by J.J. Abrams who would later go on to reinvent 'Star Trek' and 'Star Wars'. And as we hate to admit it, that movie was gonna look terrible if it was ever made!

I didn't know about the Reagan project. That's a shame. It never occurred to me until I found out about it now, but yeah, I would be curious to see Ferrell play Reagan. I think he fits very well in the role.
I know exactly how Chris Evans feels. I turned down GE 5 times because I didn't think I could help people over the phone. I eventually faced my fears and took the job. It turned out to be the best place I ever worked... I met some of my best friends and although it's been 17 years since my first day and 3 years since my last stint there I have all the ones I could find that are on Facebook in my friends list.
Yeah no, Chris Pratt actually really wanted to play the part. It was James Gunn who was hesitant about casting him until he was tricked into watching Pratt audition, on which he said he knew within 10 seconds of him auditioning, he knew he was right for the role.
You should add Sigourney Weaver to the list for turning down the lead role in The Piano. Holly Hunter won the Oscar for best actress in The Piano. Apparently Weaver's agent convinced her to turn down the role because director Jane Campion was largely unknown at the time.
Has George Lucas said "New Hope" was influenced by "The Searchers?" The fact that both movies feature two men trying to free a woman from captivity doesn't seem like much of a parallel. It was the Star Wars prequels that showed a "Searchers" influence, like the scene where Anakin tries to rescue his mother from the Sandpeople. And the ending of "Revenge Of the Sith" was a virtual replay of the ending of "The Searchers."
Hartnett turned down super hero roles because it would hurt his career , What career ? As for Pitt turning down a role as a slave master is a good idea at this point at his career since its sliding down hill . Evans played super heroes in what 2-3 other films ? I don't blame him for being type casted but good choice for Cap and Pfeffer was too old to play the part in Silence of the Lambs though she was a sexy Cat woman .
What is it with Silence of The Lambs!? I'm sorry but personally I'm thinking it is just a movie, yes I know real life events do exist and of course it's personal choice but it's not as if the film is cursed, it's just an INCREDIBLE honest portrayal of some life events that are similar. Antony Hopkins is simply Mindblowing, incredible. The fact people got scared is surely a sign it's simply Superme acting. And Shame on Mark Whalberg. Sorry but I hope he's not serious by saying the scripts "Creepy," that's IGNORANT. Ultimately no offence the actors who did end up doing the movie are Excellent and Jeff Goldblum was Super in The Fly, just wish ending wasn't so tragic
1. Oh well. 'Silence of the Lambs' won Hopkins & Fonda Oscarso; so they're probably thanking those actors (notably, Pfeifer & Irons). Jude Law❤️ - It's fine how things turned out. He's playing Dumbledore (Youngledore) 🌈 now anyway. Bette Midler - I'm glad how things turned out. Sister Act❤️ Denzel - I'm glad how things turned out. Morgan Freeman❤️
You have failed to mention that perhaps an actor turns down a role because they have absolutely nothing in common with the character they're asked to play. A great actor at least needs to find something anything they can play off. If they know it will suck if they say yes, why would they do that to themselves and the audience.
Foster was actually never face to face with Hopkins on set. They shot at different times and didn’t even cross paths until well after shooting was over.
Michelle Pfeiffer was asking $2 Million Dollars to star in "Silence of the Lambs". Orion (which was struggling financially ) did want to pay her that much . That is the real story!
Whenever I see the scene in Guardians where Gamorra and Star Lord are fighting on the ground I just think about how much it must've hurt when she broke his rib during that scene.
Christopher Walken as 'Bad Lieutenant' - thankfully Chris told Abel to go with Harvey Keitel for that one. And Kim Basinger in Boxing Helena - would've been interesting, or maybe not?
Josh Hartnett dodged a bullet by turning down Superman Returns. Yeah he messed up by turning down Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy but hey, he's in Penny Dreadful, that's a good show.
there are a bazillion actors imaginable in the role of Captain America. It's the most blank character. A butch good guy... let's see... Chris Pine, Brad Pitt, Chris Pratt, Ryan Gosling, Zack Efron, Jeremy Renner, Patrick Wilson, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, any of the Hemsworth brothers, Timothy Olyphant, Alexander Skarsgard ... the list goes on and on -.-
In the beginning of the video you said people are afraid of zombies..I think with all the zombie movies that's ever been made its safe to say if your still afraid of zombies you won't survive if it ever happened. This may not be the case for some people but as long as zombies don't run I'll be fine...if they go full on 28 days later I may need to be more scared..but all you need is a resilient weapon like a aluminum bat or steel bat or wood bat.
Which actor on this list surprised you the most?

I didn't know about the Reagan project. That's a shame. It never occurred to me until I found out about it now, but yeah, I would be curious to see Ferrell play Reagan. I think he fits very well in the role.
"What's in the box???" "It's a bunch of balloons."
The Fly on this list deserves a like if for no other reason the movie is amazing.
As much as I love foster in silence of the lambs I’d liked to have seen what Michelle phiefer could have brought to the role she’s so talented as well
As a huuuuuuge fan of superheros.. if Marvel approached me for a project, I'd probably decline out of fear, too. Terrified of letting fans down.
Yeah no, Chris Pratt actually really wanted to play the part. It was James Gunn who was hesitant about casting him until he was tricked into watching Pratt audition, on which he said he knew within 10 seconds of him auditioning, he knew he was right for the role.
4:44
Joker and mysterio as gay partner before they become villains
chris evans is the best cpt. america!!!!
I think in Angel Heart the own director was so afraid of Robert DeNiro playing the devil that he let him direct his own scenes, wow !
9:51 pratt faced his fears and won the hearts of guardians fans everywhere...... until infinity war
"An Englishmen should not play a guy that stands for the American way.." If only Henry Cavill had that much decency..
Robert Flores oh shut up cavil is awesome
Robert Flores A Brit was Superman??
thank god he doesn't.
did you see his abs ......
i am getting off topic
Yes. Henry Cavill is British.
Dominic West from "The wire" turned down Game of Thrones
As did Jennifer Ehle, the original Catelyn Stark. She quit after the show got picked up and her scenes were re-shot with Michelle Fairley.
You should add Sigourney Weaver to the list for turning down the lead role in The Piano.
Holly Hunter won the Oscar for best actress in The Piano. Apparently Weaver's agent
convinced her to turn down the role because director Jane Campion was largely
unknown at the time.
Toshiro Mufune in _A New Hope_ would've been a really nice nod to Akira Kurasawa and the impact his films have had in twentieth century cinema
love ya Loops!
The screenplay for "Sister Act" that Bette Midler was shown was not the film that was made. In fact the film was being re-written as it was shooting!
THAT LUCILLE BLUTH MOMENT!!!!
Things worked out perfectly for the audience. They got the perfect actors
Yes he has, and the scene where Luke comes back to find his aunt & uncle killed is lifted directly from The Searchers.
i love chris evans so much.
Cute ending... :)
Hartnett turned down super hero roles because it would hurt his career , What career ? As for Pitt turning down a role as a slave master is a good idea at this point at his career since its sliding down hill . Evans played super heroes in what 2-3 other films ? I don't blame him for being type casted but good choice for Cap and Pfeffer was too old to play the part in Silence of the Lambs though she was a sexy Cat woman .
thank god Chris Evans is Captain America
Sister Act❤️
Denzel - I'm glad how things turned out. Morgan Freeman❤️
+Fantastic Beasts - Jodie Foster played the role and won the Oscar, not Jane Fonda!
Adam Sandler deserved an oscar nomination fir Reign Over Me. It was a great film and he was surprisingly great in it.
You have failed to mention that perhaps an actor turns down a role because they have absolutely nothing in common with the character they're asked to play. A great actor at least needs to find something anything they can play off. If they know it will suck if they say yes, why would they do that to themselves and the audience.
I always thought Superman would be in the list. It's because of Superman curse. No wonder why Amy Adams wasn't nominated for an Oscars last year.
Timmy Nguyen Apparently the Superman curse only affects actors whose last name are Reeve or Reeves.
So John, Lithgow of the fly! :D
Jude Law as Superman. NO!
Foster was actually never face to face with Hopkins on set. They shot at different times and didn’t even cross paths until well after shooting was over.
Liked, subscribed, activated, notifications, NETFLIX "Gems" are GREAT! thanks, Godspeed David G. Washington State.
You missed Frankenstein for A New Hope.
Tarkin and Vader's relationship is straight from their previous films together.
Middler is afraid "playing a nun" will offend fans, but her social media hate for anyone not exactly like her doesn't? Weird.
I like more of those actors who rejected roles. But let's be real, we wouldn't change any cast for these great movies!
Michelle Pfeiffer was asking $2 Million Dollars to star in "Silence of the Lambs". Orion (which was struggling financially ) did want to pay her that much . That is the real story!
I would be interested see Jeremy Irons take on Hannibal Lecter.
I'm glad pfeiffer turned down silence of the lambs. Foster was perfect
The Superman movie was superb
Whenever I see the scene in Guardians where Gamorra and Star Lord are fighting on the ground I just think about how much it must've hurt when she broke his rib during that scene.
Jude Law should play James Bond if given the chance!!!
Jude Law for Superman at about 5'11" would've been weird
Christopher Walken as 'Bad Lieutenant' - thankfully Chris told Abel to go with Harvey Keitel for that one. And Kim Basinger in Boxing Helena - would've been interesting, or maybe not?
Denzel could make a shtty picture look good.
NO! Normal people are not afraid of zombies, because normal people know zombies are not real.
