@Max Morris difficult to say as have not been in Audi for years. It's a lovely car to drive and the Merc dealer I purchased it from offered me £1500 more than I paid for it at my service last March! Which I declined, it only had 1700 miles on the Clock when I purchased it 18 months ago.

Great video as always Nick. I came out of my 2020 C300 in July into a brand new AMG A35 premium plus saloon with all the aero kit in Patagonia Red. Personally I prefer the saloon over the hatchback, I just think it looks a bit more grown up and classy. Keep up the sterling work, look forward to the next video 👍🏻
Hey Nick, been following your channel for a few months since buying a 2020 Mercedes. Question I have , when starting navigation route the assistant keeps saying this road includes tolls roads. Even if I navigate to a street nearby. Any ideas? Thanks.
Nice video Nick. You’ve answered 1 of the questions I had which was the saloons boot access. It’s a boot not a saloon-hatch. I’d be intrigued as to how much of an opening it is. Also thanks for the heads up regards the lack of a wiper. It’s a shame but it’d be a compromise I guess I’d have to get used to. I’m really interested in the 2023 AMG 35 Saloon myself. Keep the videos coming 👍🏼👍🏼

It tells me to enter the 6 digit code. Code never arrives at my email. Tried to go on browser to get code from Mercedes website. Code again doesn't arrive. Tried to login with my password, says password wrong. Tried to reset password . Link to reset password doesn't arrive at my email address. It was fine until it went in for the service. It's driving me crazy as I check app regularly for anything suspicious or if I left a window open.

Depends on the car, year of manufacture and where you live. So if you speak to Mercedes they can let you know! 🤓 Or check out their brochures and configurators on their website, it’ll list for each model.
CLA is way more sporty (considered a coupe by Mercedes), sells very well (as far as I can tell) and does not have any competition in the premium segment. It even sells in the US of A considering they don't like smaller cars at all (if you can call a 4,69 meters car short or small, to me it is a mid size sedan not a sporty faux coupe). In the back it has little room tho but a way bigger boot than A Class sedan. A Class sedan on the other hand is significantly shorter than CLA but has more headroom for the rear passenger. As a single guy, I'd go for the CLA. If I had a newborn I'd get A Sedan or even A hatchback since they have similar boot size and A hatchback has a little more headroom (good for child seats, in CLA it's hard to get a child seat in an out)
Thank you! Depends on the driving style, how you drive, where you drive, and the fuel tank size. It can vary from petrols to diesels too. I drive my A 180 and can achieve over 500 miles range on a run (40mph and above) However like all cars, drive in a built up area and that figure will come down to the 300 mile mark.

It depends on the specification, you can find the seats 40:20:40 on most cars but the separate arm rest for the rear was found on a certain package. Best to check with your local Mercedes or the brochures as those will have the most up to date info 🤓
Maybe…we’ll have to see what Mercedes announce! The A-Class has just had a facelift announcement so I’ll be keeping an eye out too! Haven’t heard anything yet though!
How about a video on the effects of the semiconducter shortage on Mercedes cars in the UK. For example waiting lists of up to a year or more for new cars, the shortage and therefore lack of electric hatchbacks on some cars, the lack of electric seats, no front cameras on models that should have them fitted leading to no Augmented Reality Navigation, dropping of wireless charging on models that had it as standard etc. Mercedes aren't doing themselves ant favours by not coming clean on these issues. As a new owner of a "Covid Edition" Mercedes car I feel these issues should be brought out into the light.
This is a good point and would make a good video, it is not only some of the big items that have been enhanced by being removed but also a whole host of other smaller ones for example no lights in the rear seats or in the rear foot wells and the list goes on.

Hello Nick and I just watched your video regarding the Mercedes A-Class Hatchback vs the A-Class Saloon and was totally surprised and shocked to hear that the saloon version doesn't come with a rear wiper. Isn't it dangerous and illegal to be driving your car in wet weather with no rear wiper?? I own an Audi A3 Black Edition 2018 model and just replaced my rear wiper blade because it was making a very loud scraping sound and just couldn't wait to have replaced as soon as possible. I personally couldn't risk driving my car with no working rear wiper in wet weather as your visibility gets hampered dramatically if can't clear the rear screen of rain water. Have all Mercedes saloon models never been fitted with rear wipers or is it just this saloon model? If all Mercedes saloon models come with no rear wiper, how are you supposed to clear the rear screen of rain water? Are these rear screens in saloon models specially built and designed in a way where they are to able to drain rain water by themselves without the need of a rear wiper, Nick? Please let me as I really like the saloon model more than the hatchback version in the A-Class range and would like to know if the saloons version has any more additional features and technology that the hatchback doesn't. Can you also have automatic folding door mirrors in the saloon version too?
Hey yeah that’s right pretty much all saloons across all manufacturers don’t have rear wipers. This is because the rear shape of the car tapers off more smoothly so as you drive the airflow pushes water off (most of it). Now of course it won’t get rid of all of it but you can always put the rear window de-mister on which warm the rear window up to. And when reversing most saloons these days have a camera anyway. Also because of the shape of the rear, you won’t get as much water flick up from the rear too.
Have any drivers past and present who have driven saloon cars ever had any major problems when driving their saloon cars in very wet driving conditions, Nick? Has wet weather severely hampered and affected their driving abilities in wet weather? Is it a major, risky and dangerous issue by not having a rear wiper in saloon models in the rain? My other question to you is does the Mercedes A-Class saloon have front door automatic folding door mirrors? I have an Audi A3 2018 Black Edition which doesn't have this feature unfortunately and is a real headache and a disadvantage when I am parking in my local supermarket car park or on a public road in front of local shops and stores as I have to fold them manually with my hands as I don't want to take the risk of them being hit by another car, cyclist or a pedestrian.
Not that I know of I’ve owned a Saloon from another car manufacturer before for a short while and it was absolutely fine (that didn’t even have a reversing camera). For specs you’ll have to check the car itself or chat with Mercedes and they can let you know. In the UK there’s Executive, Premium & Premium Plus. Optional Extras are found on those 🤓
Hey Ehsaan, yes you’re absolutely right, it was a mistake on my part. I pinned a comment to the video to explain that they are in fact 2.0L engines. A-Class’s in fact used to be 1.5L engines originally but moved to 2.0L fairly recently.
Ah dang R W beat me to it! Thanks 👀 Yes Saloons typically don’t need them because road water won’t typically flick up onto the rear window on a saloon but will on a hatchback due it’s curve. There are some manufacturers that do have a rear wiper though on a Saloon although it is rare.
@@npoleary look forward to that one, as discussed when we met at the Farnborough show, I need to change my 2019 C43 coupe as my wife has issues getting in and out easily, also it’s a task to get the grandchildren’s seats in the back. We have looked at the GLC but my wife wasn’t comfortable driving it (she has a Yaris Hybrid auto), so the GLA35 seems to be a good compromise, but I’m also interested in maybe the hybrid. Would love to hear your opinion’s on the range and option packages.
Don’t worry I’ve heard this many times before but rest assured the entry level engines in the compact car range are not just "Renault engines", Mercedes and Renault have combined their efforts together to produce a very highly economical, low emission and powerful engine. One of Mercedes-Benz's best sellers at the moment! Mercedes also put their own tech and spin into it and designed Formula One technology such as Nanoslide and even cylinder shut-off called CAMTRONIC allowing the cylinders to go down to 2! None of this is found in the Renault’s engines so no, they are definitely not the same at all. Hope that answers your question!
The older 1.3 petrol & 1.5 diesel engines were Renault , the newer 2021 onwards 2.0 diesel engines & bigger petrol engines are Mercedes engines made in Germany
Hey Yahya, for most up to date prices, best to contact your local Mercedes and they can let you know if it’s available as it can vary round the world. However in the UK, prices start from £108,030 On the Road 👍🏼

Isn’t the Audi A3 better as the merc has Renault engines?
The older 1.3 petrol & 1.5 diesel engines were Renault , the newer 2021 onwards 2.0 diesel engines & bigger petrol engines are Mercedes engines made in Germany
the 8 speed box in the a220d is awful..so clunky and slow at changing down.. hesitant when trying to put power down from a standing start aswell
I choose cla
What you buy when you really want that badge but got no money.
We just want to know price first before any explanation
Hey Yahya, for most up to date prices, best to contact your local Mercedes and they can let you know if it’s available as it can vary round the world.
However in the UK, prices start from £108,030 On the Road 👍🏼
Hi Nick, I love your video and learnt a lot from them. Just one question, I seen many video with the light flashing like this video th-cam.com/video/u39Kuq-xEF0/w-d-xo.html from 00:20 to 00:30. I found it is very cool if I can do it at my CLA 250. Please maybe your next video can teach us. Thanks.
Aha no that’s just the shutter speed of the camera
It’s not actually happening in real life, it’ll be down to what shutter speed the camera has set and the hz of the led light
@@npoleary got it. Thanks Nick
No worries! 🤓
I try and stop it happening when I film as it annoying if you’re filming a screen on the inside (it can happen on those too!)
There is a facelift a class
You didn’t watch to the end? 👀
It’s out next year
Do you think the a class stops in 2025?
Autocar and Autoexpress have posted about this but there is nothing official from Mercedes (that I’ve heard anyway)
It’s one of their best sellers so I’m sure they have a plan or a trick up their sleeve!
Unfortunately this saloon not available in my country. We have the basic and AMG 🥲
