Hey everyone, welcome to a late posting of my weekly video. Thank you for your patience, and especially thank you to the kind comments from the guys who responded to my post explaining that it would be late.
This was a job that I carried out last week. I was unaware what had happened with the scammers, until a few days after i'd completed the job, so was unsure why the clean areas were there at the time.
So the customer had a couple of young guys knock at her door about a month before I arrived, saying that they could clean up her driveway and get rid of the weeds. My customer accepted their price, saying they seemed very friendly & pleasant and she thought they would do a good job.
But.....when they knocked on her door again after half an hour, much sooner than she expected, they said they had finished, and asked for payment. She couldn't believe what they had done. As you can see from the thumbnail and beginning of the video, all they did was wave their pressure washing wand about randomly, removing a few weeds as they went, then just lightly rinsed the the whole area down.
My customer simply said she wasn't going to pay for what they had done, as she expected the whole area to be cleaned thoroughly and properly. To which they became very confrontational and aggressive telling her in no uncertain terms, they want paying. My customer bravely stood her ground, although she said she felt very intimidated. In the end they left without payment because her little dog was getting quite agitated, and started barking and getting quite aggressive himself. I think she rewarded that little dog with a steak dinner that night 🙂
This is another occasion where rogue traders have carried out another bad job, or tried to intimidate someone into doing something they didn't want to do. This sadly isn't the first time i've shown a video where I have had to finish off a job started by people that have done stuff like this, and seems to be happening more often 😡
I hope you enjoy watching me transforming this bodge job into the standard of work my lovely customer should have received in the first place. Thanks for watching, Nick.

Definitely a 10! The moment I think, “oh, you’ve missed a spot,” you turn around and grab it. Thank you for keeping my OCD-like tendencies stay in check.
Awesome, thanks for the great comment ❤️
This was definitely an awkward job, no visible borders , different angles and a fence and then grit. But as always you did a fantastic job. Big Kudos!!!
Thank you very much Alina 💕
That line is 10/10! I know it’s not perfectly straight but if I was the customer, I’d be extremely happy!
Very well done Nick. The happiness of your customer is probably proportional to the jealousy of the neighbour 😄
Very true, thanks mate 👍
There are always scammers - whether it's roof, furnace, whatever - someone out there is gonna try a scam. I'm glad you could help the lady actually get the job done - and done beautifully!
Definitely permeable paving, you can usually tell by the wiggly edges of the paviours
Very good point, I should have mentioned that in the video, cheers Tracy ❤️
I love your attention to detail concerning the borders, property lines etc. I was nodding my head in agreement to your decisions :) Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, great comment ✊
Another great job. From experience, it isnt easy standing up to pressure from some salesmen/women when you’re 70+. I also love your attention to detail and how you explain things. Well done.
Thanks for sharing!
I have to say that when you do these shared driveways, I always feel sad for the neighbor that doesn't get their's done. However, it really shows up your customer's driveway. Great job. The grit was a change, and looked really good when done. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week, Nick. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great way to get the next door neighbor as a customer though!
Very true, many thanks Denise, hope you're having a great week too 💕
Your line was good enough .. lovely job, came up a treat
Cheers Terry 👍
Very professional. It's hard to believe those colours were underneath all that grime. I think the crunch underneath your feet crackling when you were inspecting the grime was once inside the gaps. You did a great job. I'm sure the owner will be very happy with the job. 😊
I once lived on a shared driveway house. Nightmare.
10/10 for the line
Awesome, thanks ❤️
Well done to the Lady for standing up to the scammers 😁👍
Well done you for spotting it wasn't sand needed in there and for making sure the correct stuff went in 😊
It was a pretty neat line Nick so 9/10 just a slight wobble and I have been told I am very mean with my scoring before 😂😂
Ouch on the hail storm. I remember that hitting here luckily I was safely indoors but at least you had the van to hide in 😊 was it around school pick up time there it was here I was very relieved mine get dropped off at the door 😂😂
Love and hugs 🤗
🤣 I think you're being generous and kind, i'm my own worst critic, I would have scored it a 7, maybe an 8 at best. But thank you for going easy on me, it just shows what a good heart you have.
Big hugs back at ya 🥰
I hate people that try to take advantage advantage of other people
A good point that it can be tricky to figure where property borders and areas are. Saw small gravel in the intro and wondered if the paving had been done with that. Apparently so. Nice it worked in your favor as far as supplies and weather. You said (permeable paving) was rare and in this case, it was side-by-side with sanded paving. There were absolutely huge joints at 16:58. Artwork and skill meet, 18:46 was a neat Grime Line. This seems to have a lot of hidden small variables, but you appear to be enjoying figuring out solutions. Turned-out nicely.
incredible job! that line is a solid 9 outta 10, brilliant work.
Thank you very much!
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning you are absolutely welcome.
Beautiful job from Kansas City Missouri USA... it's so good to find there are people with good ethics and honesty 💪
Wow, thank you!
You keep popping up so I subbed as I do find it fascinating to see the process. Cheers.
Thanks for educating us about when to use sand or grit. Unfortunately my driveway is near a large tree, and although I would love to have pavers, I’m sure the tree roots would heave them in no time, so I’m forced to have concrete. 😢
Your the best nick, loved the grit going in x
You're not too bad yourself Nicola
Good Morning Nick 😊 That’s a 10 👍 Another awesome job ❤
Good morning to the lovely Randi, aw I think your being your usual lovely and kind self, and going easy on me, but thank you, that means a lot 💕
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning Your so kind 🥰
Great job as always Nick and spot on about the permeable driveway .water runs through the drive if installed on the correct ground that is .6mm clean chipping not sand is correct. Great job looked totally different 👍
@21:42 looks straight to me mate 🤓 It's the blocks that are wonky not your line 🤣 Never mind when the camera gets knocked, it keeps it real. That's what we like about you 😁 Hail = free grit 🤣
🤣 I think you might be onto something there, it's the blocks fault not mine, love it 😂 🤜🤛
Spot on job Nick, sadly though, you're not 99.9% right about the block being permeable, you're 100% right. It became in the late 90s/00s when they decided to build large housing estates on green belt land and flood planes and permeable block was an efficient way to drain water to the large soakaways that they also started adding.
Excellent job bud. Perfect result 👌
Sorry I missed this mate, many thanks for your comment as always 👍
Brilliant how you worked that out! Great job!🎉🏆🕶
Nice job, such a big difference. Well done.
Looks fantastic now..
Aw thanks ☺️
Another banger! Ty for your hard work and have an awesome week ahead!
Thanks so much 😍
Perfectly executed Nick, another job well done 👏
Nice one bud ✊
Another amazing job. Love your attention to detail. That line really bothered you but it looked pretty straight on camera. The end result is brilliant. Well done.
Definitely a 10/10 great job well done😊
Just a beautiful job well done looks amazing ❤❤❤❤❤
Huge thanks Sheila 💕
Nick your line gets 10/10 great job as always ❤
Nice one mate ❤️
Have you thought about a laser level for doing boundaries like that? There are models that emit a horizontal as well as a vertical line.
Never ceases to amaze me, the attention to detail and knowledge of what you're looking at.
Fantastic job Nick, thanks for the upload, have a great week :)
Sorry dude, missed this one somehow
@@PrestigeExternalCleaning :D no worries at all! You have a lot of replies to get through!
@@alstalbs2265 thanks Al 😊
Another great job done!
Beautiful job!!
Thanks Nick
Hard work deserves reward,lovely job
Thanks a lot
Looks so good Nick!
Many thanks 🤩
I have a new found respect for you and your trade. Having just bought a reasonable washer & kit to do my own and family's drives I can confirm it's hard work and difficult to get the standard of finish you achieve. I'm no stranger to washing plant and machinery down but paths that' have not been cleaned for 25 years were tough going. Main lesson was stronger bleach / hypo and leave on a bit longer. Block paving next week!
That is awesome!
Wow, it looks fabulous! The grit is obviously the right thing for those huge joints. The customer must have been thrilled with the result. I wonder how long til next door want theirs done too?! Have a lovely week Nick 😊
Aw bless you Mishka, big thanks as always 💕
10 / 10 Really Nick always a pleasure to watch what you do. 👍👍👍👍
😆😘
Becoming a big fan of your work.. nicely done :o)
First time seeing grit as opposed to sand being used. Looks nice! Great work, Nick.
Cool, thanks mate
Love your realism and teaching moments, Nick, keep it up! Oh... a solid 8.5 on the straight line. 😉 -- Chris
Aw thanks Chris 😍
Sir Nick you did a wonderful job at keeping that line straight. It's amazing how well you can do it. I've seen you keep straight lines on a roof of a house. What a talent. As always fantastic video. Cheers from the pacific northwest. Canada side.
Thanks so much for your kind words, it means a lot ❤️
I think it’s a great job - that line was well done! 😊
That came out looking really good. Your line was plenty straight enough! No one is going to use it as a straightedge.
Good job Nick it came up really nice, shows the neighbours up now, maybe you’ll get some more work! ❤
I hope so!
That line was amazing lol it is what it is
Looks absolutely awesome to me!!❤
That come up lovely.. Good work.
Much appreciated
looks good.. you did a very good job
Hi Sir Nick, this is like cleaning one side of a two sided split home !! The great conundrum of the invisible line between 2 spaces. I suppose when the neighbor sees the invisible line and his dirty drive, he might just ring you up to come clean his side as well !! Nice job. A Master Class in the fine art of Following Invisible lines.
Many thanks Jeremy 👍
Really good job!
Your line was perfect!
Aw thanks Colleen 💕
Good job!❤
Thanks so much 😍
Well I'll give you a 10 for the straight line and another 10 for the overall job mate! Great call re the grit - wide joints: the grit will be effective for drainage and won't harm anything but if you'd put sand back in you'd have ruined it as it wouldn't drain properly. Was that just 3mm grit Nick?
Great job and lovely outcome as per usual mate! 👍
Thanks mate as always, yep 3mm granite chippings mate 👍
Top job as always! What grit is that you've used?
Cheers Marcus, it's 3mm granite grit 👍
Great job Nick Definitely grit your line looks Ok
Thanks dude, yeah it wasn't great unfortunately 👍
True grit.
😆
I think you did a smashing job 👍
Aw thanks Sheraline 💕
That driveway looks fantastic ❤
Thanks Julie 😍
Your line is fine!!!
Fab job looks really good ⭐
Thank you! 😊
Great Job. Your line was fine. The grit was the right thing to use on that driveway. Wish you were nearer you could do mine.
Cheers David, much appreciated 👍
Love the grime line 😊 perfect
Aw thanks Fug 😍
Lovely clening, got it good done. Myself would choose brighter layout.
You’re about your business. Really put a lot time labor into your jobs .
Thanks mate 👍
A straight line is one thing but getting your equipment out in public is entirely another. 🤭😈
Really nice work, Nick! I love how you really meant to do your best with that line, so you get a 10/10 from me ❤
When you said that these gaps are meant for grit I immediately knew this is nice since it doesn't matter if grit is wet or not, I knew it before you actually said it. Being loyal to you starts to pay off :D
Aw thanks Tatjana, I really did, but couldn't quite pull it off in the end 🙃
Domination Line!
I'd say a ten out of ten, you're very good at your job. :) Thank you for another video :D
Aw so kind, thanks Mary 💕
Hi Nick, another great job & video. Hope you don’t mind me asking, but what grit (grade) did you use for this ? Many thanks 👍🏼
Cheers mate, it was 3mm granite chippings 👍
Hello Nick ,
Great job as always ...
Can I ask where you buy your hypo please.?
If I lived in England I'd hire you for the cleaning job. Another awesome job 👍
Cheers Charles, you're very kind 👍
Another great video. What size/colour proportioned valve do you use in the X-Jet?
Cheers bud, I used grey on this one 👍
Definitely a 10 with two thumbs up for the driveway line 👍👍
So kind, cheers Amy 😍
Wonderful improvement 👍😁🥳🥳🥳🌷
Thank you! 😃
WOW! Definitely a 10!!!! Neighbors will be ringing you next! 😂❤
Cheers Kelli, I knew you'd go easy on me 💕
Boy what a mucky driveway, yuk! You are doing a great job especially when you compare it to the neighbour's driveway!
Excellent job - much better than the company who did ours recently 😮 Just one question how do you keep the overspray from splashing the neighbours van ? You’d have thought they’d come out and move it for you although they did eventually!
It's almost impossible not to splash next door if there's no fence, so I always knock on there door and assure them that I will clean it up 👍
Im surprised that you didnt sweep first...wasnt all that grit..dirt..sand just being flung around?
What grit do you use please?
Great job Nick line was like a dog's hind leg 😂😂 only joking mate
🤣 Thanks mate 😍
From here in Germany that line looks straight🤭🤭🤭🤭
Yes I agree, from Sweden it looks wonderful!
You and that flipping camera 😂
🤣❤️
Would it have been helpful to get clarity on the 'border' line from the client? Or he/she wasn't available to ask?
Nick what’s that grit you use? Thanks
3mm granite chippings 👍
Hi, can you please tell me the name of the first mashine you been using? I never saw that and i need to get one of these in germany.
The average person would never notice a tiny wiggle in the line. I thought it was practically perfect.
My question to you is with these types of shared driveways does the neighbor ever (or never) have you come back and do theirs after noticing the beautiful difference?
This is the first time that I’ve ever heard any of you guys use “grit” instead of sand. Why? What’s the difference? Thanks
Surely this should be clarified so an appropriate quote can be issued.
No need, the grit and sand are almost identical in price, so there's no reason for the quote to change
Всё супер!
The line looks good, especially if you look at it while bent sideways.🤣
🤣🤣👍
are these scammers also called travellers? I'm an American so I'm thinking about the movie with Brad Pitt
I don't know mate because I wasn't there at the time, but my customer said they had a strange English accent that she'd not heard before, so it's possible they were 👍
9 1/2 Ha 🤪 👍 ! good job Nick looks like new 👏👏 well done !
🤣 cheers Russ 😍
i need some help, bought surface cleaner. says can be used upto 4000psi. my machine is 3900 psi 11 lpm, but it seems like theres not enought pressure coming through as the arms are struggling to spin any suggestions
Your flow is too low. Surface cleaners really need a minimum of 15 lpm, but 21 lpm is ideal. The only rotary cleaner you could use would be what most guys use for roofs, being a 14" whirlaway or 12" mosmatic
Hi In this video you used an attachment after the gun with a hose that goes into the chemicals. Where can I purchase one of these attachments please?
