    I use a dark brown 3N demi on my grey hair and it’s fine. I use a volume 20 dev with it. I like that it covers my grey but since it does not completely do a FULL grey coverage, I am left with what ends up looking like brown highlights on dark brown hair. I love that look that it gives me. It really looks like the natural highlights I have already had for years.

      Hi, so when you dye your roots, do you drag the demi to the whole hair for the last 5-10min? Or do you just demi the top? Also when the demi wears off do your grey hairs look yellow, or back to white?

    Ive been using demi color from Sally and my hair looks more healthy, soft, of course I have been using treatments too and bonder shampoo. If you dye your hair you HAVE to do some treatment to your hair. For sure Demi color will not damage your hair as much as permanent color

    I used Rusk Demi on 1/2 of the front. I like it! 4CH is lovely! A bit dark but when it fades a bit, I’ll totally like it. I’d tie the back in a pony so length doesn’t get damaged.

    Glad I came across your video. I've been trying to decide between permanent and demi-permanent dye. I've had highlights put in before, but I never did a full color. I did ALL my research, but I wanted to get the opinion of someone who has added demi-permanent dye to her hair. I actually am having it professionally done because I have thick, curly, long hair, and I think it would be too hard to do on my own the first time. I like your color. I was thinking of trying a mahogany brown/dark red. Thanks for helping me feel comfortable about my decision. I hope I'll like the results. The less damage the better :)

    Personally I feel like your complexion would do better with a lighter shade. Probably more of a level 6/7/8

      Great video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard about - Millawdon Independent Decision Trick (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is an awesome one off product for learning how to get rid pf your gray hair minus the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my friend after many years got excellent success with it.

    I had a lot more damage with demi or semi permament hair color. Their ingredients dry the life out of my hair, they just coat the hair strand without giving any access to moisture. My hair used to break like crazy with it, switched back to permanent professional hair color. Touch up every 2 months, hair in super condition.

      George Bush I've not had any problems with the non permanent hair colors myself...but everyone's hair is different! Thanks for letting me know. I always get the most damage from lightening my hair so even with permanent, if I'm only depositing colors, the damage isn't TOO bad and can even help give me some volume. But I really try to avoid damage at all costs so that my hair can grow out. This is just what works for me!

    Just saw this video and it helped a lot I used a blue black shade on my virgin blonde hair from clairol natural instincts ( a demi permanent) and it left my hair feeling softer than a babies butt.😂😂 The video definitely made me feel more at ease! Thanks for all the help/knowledge!💖

    I have natural level 7-8 blonde hair and bleached it to a level 10 (if not more) pure white blonde, let the roots grow to about an inch and then put a level 4-5 demi permanent dark brown dye on it. I don’t want to strip it yet however I do in a few months time. Does anyone know how I would strip it without bleach in the least damaging way possible? Any suggestions would help!!

    I know this video is from a while ago but the color looks great on you. I am curious as to how I can pick a color that matches my natural color, I have some gray hair but I would be satisfied with just blending it in so it's not as noticeable. I went to a color stylist today and she did a semi-permanent color on the roots and now I am curious if I can pull this off at home. I had no color dye on my hair till today, my hair is dark brow as in my profile picture.

    Well I dyed my hair from a box of fructis it was dark black blue but then years after I went to like Maroonish and nothing happened only in the sun it looks maroon so if I wanna dye my hair to make it look like actually maroon would I have to use developer ? Idk I’m so lost and new to this ):

    Do both demi permanent and semi permanent dyes wash out of your hair over time and return to the original color your hair was before dying it? And if both them do not do that, does either one of them for sure wash out to the original color my hair was? I love my hair color that I have now, but I am planning to dye it to change it up for a little bit but am hoping that it won’t mess with my hair color I have now. My hair right now is brown at the top with blonde basically all throughout the bottom half, I did not purposely make it “ombré”; however, when I used to dye my hair different colors, I had a hard time getting the blue color out so I had to keep putting this stuff in my hair that was supposed to get rid of color. For a while my hair had a green tint to it but finally it went away and left my hair with this “ombré” look, but It’s been many years since then and my hair still looks this way even after cutting it for years. My natural color, the color it was before all this, is a medium shade of brown. I don’t know if that information will help anyone answer my question, but it’s worth a shot I’m just very worried that I will not be able to get my hair back to this color.

      I think semi may be your best bet because it ALL washes out of your hair within 2-3 washes. Demi seems to stain my hair a little bit and it may be because I use a darker color - but it does, for the most part, all wash out too, it just takes a few more washes than a semi. But a semi will NOT alter your color at all because you are NOT using a developer. All you are doing is putting color on top of what you already have. When you use a demi, you actually use developer - which developer contains peroxide and opens up the hair cuticle, allowing color to deposit into your hair - but keep in mind that not all developers are the same - you usually see them range from 10 volume to 40 - 40 is the most extreme and that will lighten your hair the most (this is typically what people use to go platinum blonde, etc.) If you use demi, you typically use a developer that is less than 10 volume which means it contains the LEAST amount of peroxide (aka, lightening agent). This is why people like using demi because it is considered "more gentle" and less abrasive to the hair shaft and since the peroxide level is so low, it doesn't lighten/alter your hair as much as regular dye and is also made to wash out of your hair (AKA, sit on top of hair shaft, rather than actually deposit into cuticle) But yes, technically you are actually ALTERING your hair color ANYTIME you use a developer because that is what opens up the hair follicle - even with a demi - But basically, a semi will NOT alter your natural color (remember, you don't use a developer for this!) and will wash out very easily. They are meant to be used to play around with different colors and they are very mild on your hair. And, the lighter your hair, the more vibrant the color will show up. If you have dark hair and you want let's say, a vibrant red or pink or lavender, etc, you will probably need to lighten your color if you want the dye to show up - hope that made sense and hope that helps!

    Hey girl! I dyed my hair using Demi permanent Clairol nice'n'easy dark brown number 79 on my natural light brown/dark blonde hair. I am on school break for six weeks, do you think it will last for when school starts again?

    • @emilyquinnie
      @emilyquinnie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daisy Mcghee it totally depends on the porosity of your hair and how close to your natural colour your dye is! For me, I dyed my hair a Demi dark brown and it lasted for months! I actually was surprised at how people online say it usually washes out quicker, just because everyone’s hair is different and for me it lasts a long time 😍 only time will tell how it works for you personally 😊

      I would say that if you want to use a developer, you should just use a demi because developers are intended for demi's. I just don't know 100% how it would affect your hair if you used one with a semi :/
