Mahua Moitra among many other petitioners went to Supreme Court to challenge Yogi Adityanath's government on putting nameplates across dhabas during the Kanwar Yatra route, this move by the petitioners were noted as exclusionary and discriminatory. The Supreme Court stayed the UP government's order, and petitioner MP Mahua Moitra talks about the whole issue with Barkha Dutt.

There has been fights in previous years between Kavad Yatris and Shop keepers who sell food which is not of the purity expected by Kavad Yatris. .... The name boards will avoid fights.
And if Yogi as CM has decided it, he will implement it inspite of the SC order. All he has to do is to place a volunteer outside shops earmarked as suitable for Kavad Yatris purity.

She has hit the nail on it's head. The similarity of this with what Nazis did is so obvious. As RSS considers Hitler as one of their idols, it is natural for them to follow his ways of doing things. Why can't someone ask the UP government to explain in simple terms the real purpose of this order. There are thousands of demands from the people regarding the hardships they face in their daily lives and government does nothing about those. In this case was there a single complaint which prompted the government to take this action? It is the systematic erosion of the secular fabric of our country in small doses.

Mahua Moitra is correct in saying that this is a piquant situation which is an Extended War to save our Democracy.
