Dances with wolves is my absolute favorite movie, true masterpiece. It honestly doesn’t get the cudos it deserves. Not being in the top 100 movies on most if not all the polls I’ve read, is an absolute disgrace. Especially when you hear how it came about in the first place

Even at the height of her career she had lots of self doubt. *Even her own peers booed her at the Soul Train Awards instead of showing her the respect she deserves. That caused her a lot of pain, fear and difficulty with trusting people. Whitney was subjected to immense pain from an early age. Mentally she was under attack almost her entire life. Every day people commit suicide because of mental issues like Whitney's.
Whitney fought very hard for a very long time to overcome her demons and sadly she lost. Whitney didn't die from drugs. Her mental issues drove her to substance abuse and eventually killed her.
People often look down on people with psychological problems. That's one of the major reasons why people are scared to talk about their problems and seek help. For Whitney it was even more difficult because of her fame.
Some respect, compassion and understanding would save a lot of lives!!!!!!
SOME REASONS THAT LED TO WHITNEY'S DEMISE:
Whitney's life wasn't a walk in the park.
*Victim of child abuse. Dee Dee Warwick molested little Whitney for years.
*She was bullied as a child/teenager and adult for the color of her skin and looks by white & black kids/adults. That certainly wasn't good for building up her self esteem. Kevin Costner's eulogy said it all. Even at the height of her career she had lots of self doubt.
*Even her own peers booed her at the Soul Train Awards instead of showing her the respect she deserves. She paved the way for other black artists and didn't deserve to be treated so disrespectful.
*Since 1987 the press hunted an haunted her relentlessly. That caused her a lot of pain, fear and difficulty with trusting people. Sadly her own brothers introduced her to drugs as a way to cope with all the madness fame brought her.
*Though she managed to keep herself together for 10 more years, 1989 was the start for her down fall. Meeting someone like Bobby Brown who did everything to enable her to take drugs and profit from her in every way he could destroyed Whitney completely.
*Several miscarriages that brought her too much grief.
I just think whitney needed someone to help her and guide her in the right place. She was surrounded by scums and its sad.

The Body Guard was such a classic movie you can’t think about Whitney Houston & Kevin Costner! Yes I truly think they had that special something that’s unspoken! When you find that with that someone don’t ever ignore it act on it married or not!

Kevin,or any other honorable man could’ve given her the love,courage,strength and support to overcome it. The opposite of what a low life,cheating,abusive,troubled addict that BB is did. Dear Whitney - you are so missed and loved. My one hope is that you knew that and that you’re finally at peace.

Unfortunately she chose the "Ike Turner" path. Bobby had her under his thumb and wouldn't ever officially break up. I always wondered how it would have been if bin Laden got his wish in having a lone assassin get close enough to Bobby to kill him. People who hear about that often chuckle about it but bin Laden really was obsessed with her - enough that when it came to the subject of killing Bobby, he went from joking then to spit-balling the idea and then having a few come up with a plan. He always said she was a "great muslim" but just wasn't aware of it, lmao.

Kevin Costner is one of the few people in Hollywood whom I actually really like. There’s no pretentious bs about him. He’s a real gentleman and boy has he made some incredible movies over the years.

That's so interesting. That she thought she wasn't pretty enough but he thought she was absolutely beautiful. Interracial relationships are more accepted now today, but if Whitney and Kevin did have a relationship, I it would have been scrutinized at that point in time on top of being celebrities. Really wish she loved him as much as he did. Bobby obviously didn't give her that same love and respect. *sigh* Even today, "Sometimes things are just yours." **SWOON~** ugh! MY HEART Dx

But Kevin has said himself that he loved doing the love scenes with her...take, after take, after take _(there was a lot left on the cutting room floor to get to that anemic snippet we saw on the screen, lol)._ It was obvious by how he worded it that he was also a little smitten/that he at least liked "making out" with her. *(Edit:* I'm not referring to what he said in this video about kissing her).
I think he divorced his wife after the movie was shot... It doesn't take much for men to get back on that horse after a divorce or separation. That would be even more reason for them (men) to "look", even if they don't touch.
