The presenter was not able to explain properly. Actually there were no much buyers. Everybody wanted to sell. Only few wanted to buy that too at lower and lower price. Due to huge people wanted to sell supply became dominant and prices crashed. And this was happening everyday.

Hoover couldn't do anything as he was not allowed to interfere in economy that time "classical economic thought "was in force ... After the great depression .. "KEYNES" studied the causes of the depression and gave solutions to them in book "the general theory of employment , intrest ,money" .. Roosevelt worked on his ideas ..
