In 1994, Ali Khamenei, Supreme leader of Iran, declared percentage of female university was 33% before Islamic Revolution but after that on 2012, became 60%.
The Iranian Revolution initiated social changes that helped more women enroll in universities. Today more than 60% of all university students in Iran are women.

Few points need to be clarified sir.
1. The revolution of 1979 broke because Shah of that time was introducing such things which was against the principles of Islam like ban of Hijab etc. As Iran is a Muslim majority nation so such westernized reforms was disliked by the Iranians and especially women's protested against such reforms.
2. From the very beginning even before the revolution Ayatullah Khomenei gave a concept of "Wilayat-e-Faqeeh", which means Governance by the Clergy. And he clearly mentioned the concept of Islamic Republic and a Theocratic Govt in Iran. And people started liking his concept.
3. Ayatollah Khomeini was never against the rights of women and when he visited first time after the revolution he said that he is not against modernisation because that's the need of the hour but he was against the blinf faith of westernization.
And many things are inappropriate as of my knowledge is concerned so please don't speculate and I request u to please before making such kind of videos once read the biography of Ayatollah Khomeini.

Good effort Dr sab but i can see many loopholes, for example, (1) not clearly linking the role of USA and convincing Saddam to start war with Iran or helping shah in many controversial matters (2) Understating the efforts/role of Khomeini, he struggled for almost 2 decades to pave the way for revolution.... there are many more points to groundtruth...but overall good effort...

In 1921 Pahlavi dynasty came to power in Iran. Prior to it's rise in 1906 a revolutionary uprising occurred which successfully established Constitutional Monarchy which adopted a secular structure for Iran but soon the revolution failed and powers reconcentrated by the Shah. During first world war discovery of oil led to squabbling for oil dominance amongst military powers primarily between UK and Russia. Ultimately Britain successfully established it's control over all iranian oil resources and backed the rule of Pahlavi dynasty ruler Mohammad Reza Shah who had an allegiance to western powers like america and britain and an intriguing affinity towards western culture. As Iran made revenues through selling oil it prospered. It's highways, roads, colleges, universities and other infrastructure and key institutions flourished. Still as Iran was drawing closer to western culture and education and parroting western institutions, it subtly angered the conservatives and hardliners. As their agitation gained momentum in public discourse fuelled by people's woes of sub standard living, pervasive unemployment and the volatile situation was aggravated with the exile of the Ayotallah, the religious leader, subsequent subduing of opposition political parties and other detractors, all contributed to the mass scale uprising against government. American public support to the Shah of Iran on the top of such fearful unrest marked the tipping point and Shah ultimately had to flee to America on the pretext of treatment.
New Constitution adopted, Iran became Islamic Republic, sharia law adopted/embraced, left wing /moderate groups suppressed, Revolutionary Guard Corps, the elite military wing, established to protect Constitution and supreme leader from any possible coup.
Iraq under saddam hussain attacked Iran owing to the apprehensions of a possible Revolution by the Shia public. War came to end in 1988 with no results except losses in life and property on both the sides.
Following the American Embassy hostage attempt Economic sanctions imposed on Iran by western powers led by USA. Signature deal in 2015 JCPOA achieved which now stands mutilated, reshaping the geopolitical equations as Iran is likely to shift in Chinese camp.
Why iran witnessed such revolution?

In September 2012, women made up more than 60% of all universities’ student body in Iran.[29] However, the numbers were not always this promising; this high level of achievement and involvement in high education is a recent development of the past decades. The right to a respectable education has been a major demand of the Iranian women’s movement starting in the early twentieth century. Before the 1979 revolution a limited number of women went to male-dominated schools and most traditional families did not send their girls to school because the teachers were men or the school was not Islamic.[30] During the 1990s, women’s enrolment in educational institutions began to increase. The establishment and the expansion of private universities “daneshgah-e-azad-e islami” also contributed to the increasing enrollment for both women and men. Under the presidency of Rafsanjani and the High council of cultural Revolution, the Women’s social and cultural council was set up and charged with studying the legal, social, and economic problems of women. The council, with the support of Islamic feminists worked to lift all restrictions on women entering any fields of study in 1993. After the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and his new regime prioritized the Islamization of the Iranian education system for both women and men.[31] When Khomeini died in 1989, under president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, many but not all restrictions on women’s education were lifted, albeit with controversy. The right to education for everyone without discrimination is explicitly guaranteed under Iran’s constitution and international documents, which Iran has accepted or to which it is a party.[32] Some scholars believe that women have poor access to higher education because of certain policies and the oppression of women’s right in Iran’s strictly Islamic society. However, Iranian women do have fair access to higher education as seen by a significant increase in female enrollment and graduation rates as women university students now outnumber males, Iranian women emerge to more prominent positions in the labor force, and the presence and confidence of professional women in the public sphere. The opportunities for women education and their involvement in higher education has grown exponentially after the Iranian Revolution.[33] According to UNESCO world survey, Iran has the highest female to male ratio at primary level of enrollment in the world among sovereign nations, with a girl to boy ratio of 1.22 : 1.00.[34]
