  • World War 1, or the First World War is considered one of the first great wars in World History in which over 14 million people lost their lives. It changed the geopolitical situation of the world forever. But why did this Great War take place? Which major countries were involved in this? Who were the allies and the enemies? What was the immediate cause of the war? What were the consequences? I explain all these things in this video.

Please don't consider random youtube videos (no matter how great the production quality, and how popular the creator) as a surrogate for actual cited, peer reviewed, verified and documented information. There is a lot of misinformation out there, you should see a video like this and then do your own research, through trusted and verified sources after. I suggest sites like wikipedia, and more importantly, the sources they cite in their 'references' section.

I remember reading all this stuff (All these treaties, revolutions) in my history book back when I was in 9th or 10th standard but I never really understood them. Infact, none of my classmates strained on understanding these events rather we used to cram these things up and our teachers knew and were happy with that fact. And that generally reflects how messed up our education system really is. Our education system basically focuses on the concept of memorization and students scoring "better" marks.

At 14 -15 nobody gives flying fk about world wars. It was uninteresting because of a 14 year old's lack of maturity. As one grows up and mature the desire for knowledge acquisition increases exponentially. I was never interested Biology and passed it barely. Now i am engineer & since pandemic I got so interested in cells, microorganisms, Virus, evolution, CRISPR-, gene editing etc.
Although I agree if history is taught though visual methods it could become more interesting than reading textbook. But again there is a lack of good quality, factually correct content like documentaries especially in vernacular languages.

I have found out that Bharat Singh who died for our country India before independence is remembered as a national hero but today his family is going through tough times and selling bricks. Why can't this hero's family be given some privileges? If Bagat Singh was alive, wouldn't he take care of his family?

Please don't consider random youtube videos (no matter how great the production quality, and how popular the creator) as a surrogate for actual cited, peer reviewed, verified and documented information. There is a lot of misinformation out there, you should see a video like this and then do your own research, through trusted and verified sources after. I suggest sites like wikipedia, and more importantly, the sources they cite in their 'references' section.

Are you actually an army official ??? No offence meant, just skeptical because army men are invariably extremely fluent in English... But that's not the case here. Surprisingly, your comment has many grammatical errors !
      1. "I am in Army for 16 years" is totally flawed statement... Grammatically !! You either state "I have been in Army since 16 years" or "I have been serving in Army for 16 years now".
      2. "Well presentation" is a wrongly structured phrase ! You either say "You present the content really well" or "your content is well presented" or use an adjective like "marvellous, good/amazing/awesome" as a prefix before the term 'presentation' !
      3. Lastly... correct grammatical form is "makes it much easier" (not "make it much easier") !
