I love that we see how much Morty has matured and learned through his adventures with Rick. He tricked Rick into taking Jerry on an adventure by pretending to be worried about his dad killing himself, when he really just wanted a day off. Then we see how smart he's gotten at reading people and with quickly adapting to using Rick's technology through the Beth and Summer plot.
I love this episode. It really shows morty being badass and shows just how smart he has become. I mean, he seems to even be smarter than he himself thinks. He starter the episode saying they shouldn't bother figuring out the machine because it's rick level stuff, yet maybe an hour later he's in the back of the car confidently saying he knows what he's doing.
I love the moments where we see that Morty isn't just Jerry's son, he's Rick's grandson.
it was already proven that every morty as the brain capabilities of evil morty and this morty as proven that more than once
he can disarm nutrino bombs like nothing he can use ricks tech like nothing and even tech he's not familiar with starts to look simple to him
and some times he evwn corrects rick wich is mind-blowing
it's all profs that deep down this morty can and most is evil morty equal just simply doesn't know it yet

What I find interesting is how Rick calls Jerry our for being a parasite that acts weak and any time he gets a tiny sense of control he runs with it. At first this just sounds like Rick being hyper critical but then Rick gets his brain neutralized Jerry starts mistreating and messing with Rick in his unaggressive state. Rick hasn’t been dumbed down, he’s fully conscious of everything that’s happening, he just can’t do anything about it. I’ve heard people compare this to autism and question how Jerry would treat someone with it which while I think is a heavy jump to conclusions still shows Jerry being kind of a bad person.
During the episode with alien parasites I remember beth's bad memory of jerry was him literally locking her out of the car while a homeless dude with a broken bottle chased her around. Ever since then I just cannot feel sorry for bro😭
Jerry would treat ASD level 2 and 3 individuals horribly. Rick is a level 1 autist, he's fully aware he's autistic and has little trouble dealing with day to day life. Level 2 and 3 individuals generally need a lot more support and Jerry, as shown in this episode, would absolutely abuse that need.
People who say this forget that this is Rick that Jerry is doing this too. The guy who has been making life miser for him and has taken his family from ever since he moved in with Beth.

This has gotta be one of my favorite Rick and Morty episodes of all time. Both plots go so hard, and every member of the cast gets some good exploration. It's just good television.
Also Don, I just realized, you gotta check out Smiling Friends. Another phenomenal Adult Swim cartoon. Only one season so far but really unique.
There are a lot of people like Jerry, who use pity as a way of survival.

As a point of interest, most female R&M reactors I've seen praise Morty for "being a good brother" because he mutilates Ethan for making Summer cry. Actually Beth did that.

Our version of Morty is a version of Morty I despise. This Morty just disfigured Ethan...just because he broke up with Summer? And now; Ethan probably has to spend the rest of his days as a deformed and grotesque monster? Jeez, such a shitty thing to do to someone. It's just wrong on so many different levels. And this version of Morty has no place to judge Ethan, especially since Morty only likes Jessica, because of how hot she is. This Morty is a hypocritical and stupid asshole.
