Mono-blue can have a counter up on turn 3 even when going second with essence capture, spell pierce, and a wizard boosted retort, and turn 3 is when mono-white wants to play their big cards like Benalish Marshal and History of Benalia.

    • @riku-petterikyllonen2774
      @riku-petterikyllonen2774 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @matt condo The correct line in that scenario is to widen your board with low mana creatures and force the mono blue player to tap out for board presence and play marshals and benalias later.

    • @MattyIce213
      @MattyIce213 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riku-petterikyllonen2774 You're absolutely correct, top draw for top draw mono-white is one of the few, perhaps the only, deck that has the advantage over mono-blue. They have to have a lot of one drops to pressure though because mono-blue will quickly overwhelm them with card advantage and cheap counter spells otherwise. Merfolk tricksters can also heavily slow down mono-white's tempo. So the matchup isn't a gimme for mono-white, though it is favored.

      Just play a mono red aggro deck and this will get you to gold 1 very quick. Its perfect for new players. Not too much stuff to fuck up and its either a quick win or loss(in silver rather win), so you dont spend too much time in a game, which makes it less stressful. Later on when you're in gold you'll maybe try out stuff like white red or white (watch pewdiepie's 2 magic videos on youtube, his cards are expensive but you might can get something with the idea of his deck, thats cheaper and will still get you to plat) once you're plat, you stop playing ranked for now and experiment on play with a few meta decks, learn to play them check out the website mtg-goldfish for it, maybe customize the decks to your liking until youre happy and confident in pushing further to diamond. And after that I dont know. Im only diamond myself and cant get further lol
