    I have had mine for 3,5 years and have 24000 km on the meter. I also had the same thoughts to perhaps change to another car (GR86, GR supra…) - but whenever I do the plus/minus paper, the Bullitt comes out on top. Engine, power, looks, sound, trunk space, comfort, cruising and price - nothing tops a Bullitt 😎

    Your videos helped me decide to get a 2019 Bullitt. A month in and am so glad I did it. I too plan to keep it forever. Puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it. I also drove the regular GT and an M2 and the Bullitt is just the sweet spot for me. M2 is great but the Mustang puts a much bigger smile on my face. The perfect balance of muscle and sport and just the essence of what a Mustang should be.

      Have you had any major problems with your GT16? And if so what’s the common faults you find?

    • @trbstang
      @trbstang 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matty6848 the only major problem in 54,000 miles had been the AC evaporator in the dash. It has a small leak so I have to add several ounces every 6-8 months. This is a very common problem with the cars. I don't know if they are better made now or not, but I'm waiting until it leaks out faster before I tear out the whole dash to replace it. It's been 3 years now and I've added a couple of cans. Other than that, nothing else notable to mention, except that I keep having to replace the rear tires for some reason!

    • @matty6848
      @matty6848 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@trbstang really Thomas? As regard too the air con leak have you tried the. Leak lock spray you can buy from any air con/refrigeration wholesalers? Basically if you have any pin hole leaks which I suspect you have from how long it's taking too loose it's gas charge, you can buy a pressurised can that you attache too the service port, spray into your air con system and what it does is circulate with the refrigerant oil mixture in the pipework locates and will seel up any small pin holes you have. I only know this because I'm a refrigeration engineer by trade. It's not 100% guaranteed too work, success rate for me has been about 75/80% in stopping leaks. And I've used it on friend's car air con 3 times and every time it's worked all slowed the leak right down too the point where a regas has only been needed after 3/4 years, not months. Give it a try buddy itll be cheaper than taking your Mustang into a garage too be charged pro garage rates, for a job you can do yourself. Think the tin is about $25/30 . Plus youll be using the same stuff as I use as all the refrigeration equipment we use is all imported from America anyhow, hence all the instructions are in Imperial not metric. The instructions are like "put 2lbs of this mixture into a 10lbs bucket of water, were like arrgghh it as Britain we do things in metric not imperial. Although we are a mixed nation. Go to our gas stations and everything is in old imperial and the butchers. We never ask our butchers for a Kilo of sausages it's always in lbs. So we haven't entirely lost of our love for imperial. That was because of joining that stupid E.U which made us turn our backs on our oldest trading partners America and Australia. But now we got Brexit we can start trading with our good old American and Australian Brothers again. Anyway I've waffled on way too much 🤣

    • @trbstang
      @trbstang 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matty6848 thanks for the info! We generally stay away from stop leak stuff in our AC systems as it has caused problems for some people in the past, but I might give it a try. The dash R&R is like a 10 hour shop time job, and the last quotes I've been seen were in the $1,700+ range, but that was several years ago. I know the evaporator can be had for about $150 or so, and the complete AC and heater core with the housing is in the $400+ range. I'm an accountant, so I hate paying for something that I can do myself. I've replaced the complete AC system in my 87 Mustang and done almost everything else to it, except for rebuilding the transmission and I've had a machinist brother in law that helped assemble a new engine for it, so I'm not afraid of tackling the job myself. I actually just replaced the entire electric power steering rack on it due to hitting a big broken off chunk of concrete curb I didn't see that was in the middle of the parking lot, along with struts, rotors and pads. Not a fun job in the 100+ degree heat!

    Hey Matt, I can totally relate to why you want to keep this car. I recently bought a 2021 Mach 1 and the exhaust note is what made me really buy it. I'm not a person who likes modifying cars because here in Dubai any modification especially to the exhaust would put you in trouble with the cops so this was one of the best-sounding stock exhausts and it changes the whole driving experience IMO and just the instant acceleration of the naturally aspirated v8 is visceral!

    Geez, it feels like we're competing with Matt to see who can put fewer miles on a car in a year lol. Our explorer is almost 6 years old with just under 21k on it. Like Matt, we basically intend to keep that car forever, it's been great. The 2011-2019 explorers appear to be pretty rock solid from a reliability standpoint, especially later model years, and it has the virtually unkillable 3.5 duratec. So that thing is basically going to last forever lol.

    Feel the same about my '14 Z51 Torch Red 7MT Conv Vette (18000 miles) vs a C8. C8 is a super car but no manual and the soft top would be missed.....

    I have a 2016 GT in "guard" geeen, the same as the one you used to have (the one that got smashed by a tree I think). I'm lucky enough to be able to use it as my daily - its got over 113k miles on it and It still feels special. Great, great car.

    Got mine in January of 2020 and just hit 30K. Daily driver and one over 2K road trip. Still looks great and drives great and people are still curious about it. BTW...I have an almost five year old granddaughter who uses a booster and it works great in the back seat. She has always referred to it as PaPa’s Vroom Vroom car. Also my 12 year old seems to fit in the back too. Hope you get more miles in...or I would be glad to trade you for a couple of months.

    I’m not really a fan of modern Mustangs, especially as you see so many about driven by boomers trying to relive their youth, but I must admit I do love this Bullet version in the classic dark green. Don’t if it’s the colour plus the extra power, but I would definitely have one of these.

    What are you using for oil, with 1 year in the crankcase but low miles?
    Never noticed any upholstery "squeak" on my '19 GT. Another advantage of not getting the top-end Premium Plus trim. If you put more miles on it, you'd be too busy washing bugs off and touching up gravel chips (since gravel trucks won't cover their loads anymore) on the front of it, like I do with 42k miles on mine as the summer "company car" (on a 500 mile road trip with it to an auction in Lincoln, NE this weekend, then to Bismarck, ND for another one the next weekend). Yes, it's a GREAT road trip car!

    Have you tried test fitting some other car seats? I carry my 3.5 year old around pretty well and I'm pretty sure I've got less space than you (used to have a GT350). Checkout a graco extend2fit! I understand your pain though. Most of my solo drives are errands.

    How's the gas mileage?
    Anything you miss about the ecoboost?
    I'm considering trading in both my ecoboost mustang and my hellcat challenger and picking up a GT or a Mach 1. I absolutely love the ecoboost for daily driving detail, but the engine isn't exactly "fun", even with added power from a tune, it's just an not a very exciting engine, it's checking out by like 5k, it's ridiculous. And the Hellcat is a euphoric to do pulls in, but has quite a heavy clutch and getting 11mpg around town as I do kinda gets old.

  • @YusoMusic

    hows dailying the gt in comparison to owning the ecoboost?

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The exhaust and much higher redline both make it feel more special to drive, but EcoBoosts are great dailys too with all the low-end torque they have.

    It's almost unbelievable that Ford and Chevy didn't try to introduce big V8 RWD sedans because they already have platforms and powetrains. Dodge did it and Charger is pretty successful model , and with right amount of retro design Ford and Chevy would succeed as well.
