Thanks very much! I also put the audio of the episodes up on Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/theirishnationlives I'd like to do longer podcast episodes in future but I don't have anything planned at the moment.
Hi Bernie. It's a picture of the Ballyhaunis Battalion from 1921, most of whom were involved in the Holywell ambush in Mayo in August 1920 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holywell_Ambush
Thank you for these excellent documentaries on the Irish War of Independence. Three questions: 1. How did the Irish Volunteers get the name, the Volunteers? What is the history behind that name? 2. Is there any movement going on right now to finally get the British out of Northern Ireland and to reunite that part of the Irish nation with the rest of Ireland? 3. If there is any such movement currently then what, if anything, are they doing to assure the Protestants in Northern Ireland that all of their rights would be protected and defended in a reunited Ireland? Thanks for your answers to my questions.
These programmes are most Interesting, especially as I admit I know only the outline of this period of your history. Thanks, Iain.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks very much.
Great stuff! Do you do a podcast version?
