    Dear Officer Tatum.
    I am a cradle Catholic.
People are ALWAYS mad when someone becomes a Catholic.
The Church is filled with sinners and looks like a bad party from the outside.
But it contains the fullness of truth.
    That is what attracts people.
It’s like a big, beautiful family with defects in the people within it but the whole is beautiful.
Outsiders are antagonistic / jealous/ wary/ frightened and all kinds of other stuff.
    It baffles me.
As for the evangelical Christians- they think Catholics are evil.
What kind of nonsense is that?
Their denominations are young and are offshoots of the Catholic Church.
They have some truth but not its fullness.
Let’s work together rather than with division.

Officer Tatum in this video said alot of things that clearly shows he knows nothing about the bible or the Catholic church apart from what he's heard his or other pastors say because they do not know. People criticize the one true Catholic and apostolic church for what they assume it is, not ever what they know it is. And Protestants share in the same ignorant ideas that officer Tatum is talking about in this video. I can hardly believe that he would say such a thing that is so commonly said by the most uneducated Protestants.
The Church was the first to translate the Bible into English .
It was only when Reforners/ heretics started printing and distributing altered bibles that the pope had to tell Catholics not to read them. They were tomd tk keep reading the Bible’s chained to the town squares so that no one could steal them a d so that everyone would have access to the correct Bible.

Officer Tatum, the Hail Mary is straight from the Bible. When the angel Gabriel was sent to Mary by the Father, he greeted her, “Hail, full of grace; the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28). When Mary visited Elizabeth, Elizabeth exclaimed, “Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1:41-42).

But it doesn’t say to repeat that multiple times or to even pray to marry. She was a sinner just like the rest of us, her Son saved her too. The Bible also says to not pray repetitively , so I don’t agree with that. Also, there is only ONE mediator which is Christ. You don’t need saints or marry to be praying for you.

    • @sues3218
      @sues3218 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

That prayer also says to "pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death". Why? It is Jesus and Jesus alone that saves. The official Catholic website says that they consider Mary to be a co-redeemer. That is NOT true and is unbiblical. It is through Jesus alone that we have redemption. Mary needed to be saved just like the rest of us for we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It is blaspheme to say Mary is equal to save with Jesus. I think more Catholics should read their entire bibles themselves, and then compare what it says to what the Catholics official doctrine says on their own website. It does not match up. I was once a Catholic and did this after I read all the scriptures. There are many inaccuracies that just might surprise you. Who should we listen to God, or man? I think I will listen to the word of God over any other thing. Mary was given the honor of carrying the Messiah in her womb, but she is NOT a co-redeemer. We are saved by God's grace through faith and not of works lest any man should boast, it is a gift from God. The Catholic doctrine says the opposite of that. We are all sinners in need of God's mercy, and He has offered it through His beloved Son alone.

@@sues3218 You truly don't know the Catholic Faith and distort the bible. Co-redeemer, you must understand what is meant by that.. Even Paul in his writings sounds like a Co-Redeemer where in 1Cor 9:22-23 "I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings." According to your misunderstanding you will have a rejection to Paul saying he saves. Mary was saved by GOD no Catholic ever dispute that. He saved her from Sin saved her from falling into sin hence the Angel Gabriel can declare her as one who has been endowed perfected with Grace. where you think that comes from, from GOD only. You say you were Catholic but you clearly did not know anything about the Catholic teachings about the bible and the early church fathers who knew the apostles. Never has it been taught Mary is equal with GOD again you have to understand what is meant by co redeemer as similar to what Paul taught from the above passage I cited. The Catholic teaching is that we are saved by the grace of GOD. that is the teaching.. but then it's how we respond to that grace. we are not saved by works, that is a teaching the Catholic Church refuted way back in the 4th century. again you have to educate yourself on what the church actually teaches oppose to sounding ignorant. at the foot of the Cross one of Jesus last words was giving His mother to be our mother and the disciple took her to his home. in the old testament, Eve was called the mother of all the living but she failed. who you now think is the true mother of all the living? book of revelation 12, refers to the woman and her children on those who keep Jesus's ways.

Catholics do not believe that you get to heaven through the Saints, we know that you can only get to heaven through Jesus. We ask the saints to pray for us just as we ask other members of the church to pray for us. The saints are members of the church triumphant, and revelations specifically talks about the prayers of the saints in heaven. There is also plenty that is explicitly stated in the Bible that Protestants do not believe and find ways to explain away but were always believed until the last few hundred years by Christians such as the Eucharist, and that we should hold fast to both sacred scripture AND sacred tradition which means that sola scriptura is actually not biblical. I’m a convert from the Protestant church. I’ve sought answers to all of the common Protestant misconceptions about the Catholic faith. Most of the Protestant disagreements about the Catholic Church are based on lack of understanding about what Catholics actually believe.

Catholic here, we call Protestants “our brothers and sisters in Christ” and it is not in our customs to try to convert our Protestant brothers and sisters but it break my heart the amount of hate we get from Protestants. There is a whole level of ignorance when it comes to why we do what we do. The baptisms, rosary, saints, even the pope. It is ALL founded in a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church is the one that is allowed to mocked the most by our culture and it just affirms my belief. Satan will always attack what is good and true. Love your show Brandon, just wish you would’ve given us more thoughts on Candace and not list all of your “grievances” with the Catholic Church. Amen. I’m so happy for her!! I’m also an ex Evangelical pastor myself who is now Catholic.. honestly thousands of us have been coming home over the last several years as we find out the truth of church history. I’ve come across literally hundreds of ex pastors who are now happily Catholic. Also it’s not just Catholics that believe those things but Eastern Orthodox too who are also receiving huge influx of ex Protestants and ex pastors who are now orthodox!
Protestants love to attack Catholics (and I was one of the most anti catholic Protestants there was). But once you learn that all these so called “religious” traditions IS and WAS ALWAYS part of everything the early church did, preached, and practiced and believed, then people wake up and leave Protestantism and come home. Simple. 🤷🏼 But also not to mention it’s all mostly LIES (smoke and mirrors) from the evil one to keep people away from the truth. 99% of what they accuse us of, ISNT EVEN TRUE! 😂😂
It should make one think and wonder … that if a specific church that is so hated, lied upon, and attacked so much .. man then maybe…just maybe, possibly it could be the one true church… 🤔
I’ve never seen a church , so picked on, persecuted, lied about, and attacked like the Catholic Church. If people only knew that everything they think that we believe or practice is a lie… they would be running to this church!!
It’s so amazing to me how much they attack and lie about Catholics! Absolutely insane.

It’s not easy, as person that has seen both sides of the isle and still in the offense on both sides I can say they way Catholics aren’t perfect either, the Mary worshipping “ I know it’s not worshipping" but it does looks like it and I don’t buy it. I will not bow nor kneel to a human, If Daniel and his friends didn’t do it much less me. I respect, love and tip my hat off acknowledging the mother of Jesus and giving birth to my lord and savior but that’s where it’s stops thank you. ❤ but I Remember the word that become flesh Jesus chose Mary the Virgin how amazing definitely my respects, before the world was made is it not in the Old Testament? and no one gets to the father with out Jesus and to get Jesus is already been done after the Cross that was the point we don’t need a human in between, The vail has been ripped and the Holy Spirit is the reason why it exist to reach Jesus not Mary. Sorry not sorry. Ive seen too many testaments and convictions from delieverence on people being saved by evil entities in high places, raising the dead on the Protestant side, but don’t worry they aren’t perfect either, I’ll get to them soon. 😂 my own experience in the Middle East back when I thought I stopped believing but I felt like Jonah and realized that Jesus “no one else” is my savior not Mary. in the name of Jesus not the Saints not the rosary but by fasting and praying not reciting. :/ and don’t get me started with the Pope. That was the nail in the coffin for me, it really took a nose dive, And then the Protestant I agree they have some wierd ideology going on yes by faith and grace we are saved BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN TO STOP BEING BETTER, I acknowledge that we need to be better but with out Jesus we cannot reach heaven. I just simply follow Jesus and to be honest I don’t regret it I feel more than happy and at peace. Non denomination. Just a follower of Christ Jesus is king 👑.

I believe there are Christians found in every church and denomination as well as hypocrites and demons in every church which also won’t see heaven. Plus, I also could no longer stomach Protestant, Pentecostal, or nondenominational evangelical churches anymore and all the heresies, division, delusions, changes, nonsense, and silliness that goes on there. This to me is FARRRR worse sorry (not sorry).
It’s funny when protestants find things to attack the Catholic Church on when their churches are riddled with much more and FAR greater problems, greater silliness greater divisions … and I would know as a retired pastor and ex bishop myself. I’ve seen IT ALL!! You wouldn’t even believe many of the things I’ve seen and experienced inside those churches. I have been in all or most of the mainstream denominations too before going nondenominational myself. Then as a non denominational, pastored and preached all over the world, was a missionary, and also on the radio, Internet, and everything else before starting my own ministry. We did healing and deliverance ministry casting out demons, speaking in tongues and everything. I’ve been to Bible colleges and seminaries. I’ve done it all..but most happy to just be serving in the One Holy Catholic Church now!! I gave up everything. I gave it all up to follow Christ and his one true church! This is HOME to me and I can’t see myself anywhere else. It’s EVERYTHING I’ve spent my entire life searching for in a church and in religion and in relationship to Christ and it’s amazing Beauty!! You have made your husband out of an idol.
The Apostle tells us all to examine ourselves to make sure that we are in the faith. Something is clearly wrong spiritually in your marriage.
You and your husband don't agree with the word of God.
The Roman Catholic Church is clearly a Babylonian cult. You need to look at their Mary.
Their Mary is a depiction of Nimrod's wife Semiramis, who only had a child whose name was Tammuz. The Mary of the Bible was descended from King David, and she had 7 children.
The first child, the Lord Jesus Christ, was born of the Holy Ghost. The other 6 children were from her husband Joseph, who was also descended from King David through his son Solomon.
The Roman Catholic Church teaches that their Mary was a perpetual virgin, what nonsense.

That's because Catholics and Protestants are two wings of the same bird. Both Catholics and Protestants recite the apostles creed. One holy catholic and apostolic church. I'm a former catholic and catholic just means universal. Luther protested what the Catholics were doing, same with Calvin and Zwingle. They were still catholic in being universal, just their own definition of their catholic church with minor changes made. Catholics and Protestants both persecuted fundamental Christians, known in the early centuries as Anabaptists. Best way I recommend in learning Catholic history is reading Trail of Blood by JM Carroll and the persecution of that believed the final authority of the Bible and not man made doctrines that did not match scripture. Such as infant baptism, transubstantiation, infant baptism, just to name a few that aren't in the Bible.

Protestant is a name, which I don't recognize, given by the RC church to identify those who denounced the unbiblical fallacies of RC. The "changes" of the reformers are life or death, biblical God-given gospel based on the works of God alone, versus a synergistic man-made false gospel that leads people to an eternity in hell.

Here is the thing. If you are reading the Bible, you can see many of things that the Catholic Church practices come from the Bible. For example, part of the Hail Mary prayer comes from Luke 1:42. The ashes on the heads shows up in several Old Testament stories when people put ashes on their heads as a sign of penance. Priests forgiving sins comes from John 20:23. The one thing that is not in the bible is the belief in Sola Scriptura and the bible did not even exist until late 300 AD when it was put together by the Catholic Church. If Christianity is based on Sola Scriptura, how did the early church survive until the late 300s?

As concerned for your soul, I suggest you study John 20 and the several examples of reconciliation in the epistles. Also for the sake of your soul learn the difference between Dogma and Doctrine. Dogma hardly ever changes. The last change to Dogma was 1850. Doctrine changes all the time like our realatively new doctririne surrounding the death penalty that Saint John Paul II stated.

You cannot take the Eucharist if you are in a state of mortal sin without confessing to a priest first & receiving absolution & as a Catholic you should already know that. most christians read things like the 10 commandments and then see the catholic church using statues of mary and jesus on the cross and various saints and it strikes them as graven images. or they see people repeating 10 hail mary's etc and read in the bible "do not pray in vain repetitions for you will not be heard" and many many other things and it goes against the grain of others not born catholic who were taught to follow the bible and jesus teaching in the 4 gospels. i hope this helps

What could it hurt? I think it's more for the parents. They like knowing their child has been consecrated to God. But I don't think the baby understands. Then it's not for the baby it's for the parents. I think it symbolizes that the baby has been accepted into the flock. By God by the church. I can't see where it hurts anything. It's one of the most depressing things hearing how one religion hates the other or believes they are superior. I wish it would stop because no one "knows all things". We just act like we do. The religious hatred is much worse than the things we disagree about. I know it's just human nature and we want to be right, on the right team. Believe and know are two different words... they have two different meanings. But of course if you believe something you only believe it because you think it's true. So we act like we know. But in reality we believe and we also live and learn so our beliefs will change over time. If your beliefs don't change then you aren't learning anything. But the most depressing thing is how we treat one another. Supposed to be a spirit of love but instead it's a spirit of arrogance and always trying to tear down someone who believes differently. This is one of the things that turns people away from Christianity. But Christians won't stop doing it.

There are those who go to Protestant churches and say they are Christian’s but they are really just church attenders engaging in a family or community ritual. I know Protestants say Catholics believe in things that aren’t in the Bible, but guess what, some Protestants don’t believe things that ARE in the Bible. I know plenty of beautiful Catholics whose hearts burn for Christ and hate what He hates and love what He loves. Hey Brandon! Catholic girl here. I appreciate your willingness to accept that there are nuanced interpretations of various teachings of the Bible and that we are all following Jesus the best we can, whether Protestant or Catholic. I will say, though. Some of what you said Catholics believe in this video is incorrect. I encourage you to look at Catholic Answers to understand exactly what we believe so you can better relate to Catholic Christians ❤
We don’t believe the priest forgives our sins. We don’t believe the pope is infallible in all he says as a man; it’s only when he speaks on matters of faith from his official seat of Peter that we believe God gives him the grace to clarify when there is division within the Church on a particular teaching. Pope Francis has said many things that sound woke that people don’t like, but he’s never accepted gay marriage or anything else that goes against thousands of years of Catholic beliefs. He can believe in the climate crisis all he wants…that’s not a question of faith and morals. So we don’t have to agree with him on his economic or environmental opinions. The Hail Mary is almost entirely a quote from the gospel of Luke, and we are simply asking for her intercession because as someone who has gone to Heaven (and you best believe Jesus is getting his mama to Heaven haha) she is closer to the source of life than we are on earth and therefore more alive than we are. Same with any of our relatives who have passed on, only we don’t ask for anyone’s intercession who has passed until after multiple miracles have been attributed to them OR they died a clear martyr. Otherwise, we could never know the state of someone’s heart and where they ended up in their last moments. Of course Jesus wants to save everyone. But we can’t know in many cases if they turned away or not. So we don’t pray to grandma or whatever haha. And btw “pray to” doesn’t mean worship in our lexicon. That’s another area Protestants get confused. Think of the older English phrase “pray tell.” It’s a word that used to mean asking. That’s all we do. We ask for their intercession same as you do with your brother here on earth. The ashes is a ritual, yes. We don’t believe the ashes save us or do any sort of sanctification. Ash Wednesday is not a high feast of any kind and ashes are not required or considered to have any special affect. The practice of putting ashes on your head in mourning is very biblical, and so we like to do that once a year to remind ourselves of our mortality and that we are nothing without God. As the ashes are placed on your forehead in the shape of a cross, the words used are “remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” It’s just a memento mori exercise. Not a required ritual. The church is crowded that day though haha bc a lot of Protestants show up bc they find it interesting. I’ve seen some local Protestant churches offering ashes recently too! It is interesting to me that you would accept the authority of the Catholic Church in compiling the scriptures in the first place and guarding them for 1500 years, and then expect we would do anything unbiblical. I challenge you to read multiple perspectives whenever you think the church that put the Bible together through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit is misunderstanding it. There’s always a good explanation. Often it goes back to the original Greek or Hebrew where English translations fail, we modern Americans end up squabbling over details that aren’t even issues if you read the original text. Like the word for “teachings” and “traditions” is the same word in the original language. But Protestants cherry picked which word to use when in their translations and that’s why you probably believe the Bible speaks strongly against traditions. I pray for you regularly because no matter what denomination you are, you’re a man of God and you’re doing his work on this earth. And the bigger a platform you gather the more the devil will try to corrupt you. Stay strong ❤

This doesn’t surprise me at all. I saw it coming after listening to her podcast this past year+. Her husband is devout Catholic, she is disheartened by the lack of devotion & reverence for God in the Protestant church community, and she wants to be in unity with her husband. I respect her for this decision for the sake of her family and believe there are many Catholics who are every bit as saved as Protestants, just as there are many who call themselves Protestants & are not saved. That said, I am not a Catholic, and agree with what BT said about where he stands.

Jesus was Jewish. He wasn't Catholic. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic church for over 20 years. However, it wasn't until I left the Catholic church and started attending a Spirit filled, Christian Bible based church, that I really got to know my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So many things that Catholics practice aren't even in the Bible. I always say that I don't follow a church. I follow Christ. Most Catholics are only Catholic because that's the only religion that they know and were raised in. I had questions about why we were Catholic and nobody in my family could answer other than it was just what we were. I sought Jesus for myself and my walk with Him has deepened over the years since becoming a Christian. If Catholics were to study their Bibles, they would see that a LOT of what is taught there isn't Biblical. They are being deceived. All of the virgins and saints that they have statues of in Catholic church aren't even mentioned in the Bible and goes against Biblical teaching. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth." Exodus 20:4. It's not about following religion. It's about following Christ. The Jews followed religion and Jesus criticized them for it because the Law became more important than having a relationship with Him. I see so many similarities between them and Catholics in that regard. When your religion becomes more important than Christ, that's a problem. Only Jesus saves, not religion.

It is also sad that Candace's decision will likely lead others down this wrong path.

My wife and I are both Catholic. I was never a strong religious advocate in my teen years. I went to Catechism, was baptized, first communion, confession did all the right things according to the Catholic rules but, I used to talk to my friends of different religions and ask them how they know there is a God. I received various reasons that left me more confused than anything. I realized as I got older, that it was completely about faith. I now believe in God and realize that he does not have to answer to me or prove anything to me, I am a simple servant and doing right makes me closer to Jesus and God. I pray now regularly but, not for myself. I pray for the loved ones I lost, Give thanks that I am still around after having a very tumultuous life, I pray for this country and the people of Israel. I give thanks but, never ask for anything for me. That is not what prayer is for. People who pray to be rich or saved from a situation they created are missing the point.

In my journey to the Catholic Church, the fundamental error I found with Protestantism is the man made tradition that the Bible alone is the only authority. It’s irrational, unbiblical, and historically ridiculous since the early Church didn’t even define what the Bible is until the 4th century under the Pope and Catholic bishops. All Tatums other objections are either explicitly (confession) or implicitly (Saints in Heaven interceding for us) in the Bible. The problem is Protestants have adopted the traditions of men that blinds them to the traditions of God which are both written AND oral: “So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught by us, either by word of mouth or by letter.” 2thes2:15

75 years prior to Constantine, when Christians were still persecuted by the Romans (also prior to the canon of the Christian Bible being established):
"Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom will we go?'... Peter, on whom the Church was to be built...taught and showed in the name of the Church that a rebellious and arrogant multitude may depart from the Church. I speak of those who will not hear and obey. However, the Church does not depart from Christ. And the Church consists of those who are a people united to the priest. It is the flock that adhere to its pastor. Therefore, you should know that the bishop is in the Church and the Church is in the bishop. If anyone is not with the bishop, he is not in the Church.... The Church is Catholic and is one. It is not cut or divided. Rather it is connected and bound together by the cement of priests who cohere with one another." I can completely relate with Candace. I also am an ex-Protestant who married a Catholic man and I ended up converting to Catholicism three weeks ago. I started researching Catholicism in order to understand my husband's faith better and what I found shocked me. I always thought that the early church was Protestant and then later in the 4th century it became apostate and turned into this ugly thing known as Catholicism but turns out it's the other way around! The Catholic church IS the early church, it's 2000 years old and the only church that goes back to the time of Christ. History tells us that there was one undivided church which split into the east and west (Orthodox breaking away from Catholiscm) and then 500 years ago was the reformation. So the Catholic church is not just another denomination in fact it's not a denomination at all because the Catholic church is that which all the other denominations split away from either directly or indirectly. It's the original church. Constatine didn't invent Catholicism he just made the Christian beliefs that they were already practicing legal. Over 300 Catholic bishops came to the council of Nicea who were ratified by the Pope in Rome, so how could Constatine have invited Catholicism when bishops and Popes already existed? Also if you look at the writings of the early church fathers (the early Christians from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th century) they proclaim Catholicism not Protestantism. They all had Catholic beliefs and were writing about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the veneration of Mary, honouring the Pope and Bishops, baptising infants, confessing your sins to the Priest and on and on.

I am a practicing Catholic, former Nun who has studied theology. Never have I heard that no one went to heaven till Martin Luther made it possible. I often hear people "try to explain" the Catholic Church to me and it does not come from a true understanding. Am I hook line and sinker in step with the Catholic Church? No. That comes mainly in areas of man made rules such as no meat on Friday, not allowing Priests to marry, etc. All the Protestant religions are offshoots of Catholicism.
The Pope is often misunderstood as the figure head of the Catholic Church. It is only when he speaks from the throne of St. Peter ex cathedra, that he speaks of dogma. He is not sanctioning gay marriage. He is encouraging us to be kind and accepting of people regardless of some of their choices that go against the Catholic faith. Pope John XXIII is the one who brought the Mass into the vernacular of the country. The altar was turned to face the people so we could be more involved in the service. Barriers of interaction among Protestants and Catholics were removed and we were beginning to come to some understanding our similarities rather than differences.
The Pope was installed to oversee the Church by Jesus Christ when he made St. Peter the first Pope. Not too long ago a man, who said he was a Lutheran, tried to tell me that Lutherans were not Protestants. (I am guessing he missed the whole Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation). He said there are Catholics, Protestants and Lutherans. This is what happens when you 'think' you know something but do not dig into the subject.
Another misconception is that we pray to Mary and the Saints as if they can change the outcome of our lives. Praying to Mary and Saints is asking people, who lead good lives in sync with the teachings of the Catholic faith, to provide guidance that we might do likewise. You don't pray to have some one help you find your glasses or to ask Jesus/God to forgive you or to win a sporting event. Sorry so wordy but it bothers me when there are terse put downs that come from lack of information.

To be fair as a fellow Catholic, these "Man Made" rules have theological roots in scripture. Examples: No Meat while silly to some is just simply fasting. The old rule was no eating at all and over the years it has had slight modifications. This "Rule" doesn't hurt people it empowers us spiritually to abstain. Priest being barred from marriage is reference to Paul's letters. Paul speaks on the relationships between man and woman, in that he makes a distinction in what you and I know as vocations. The man focused on God shall not marry and the other vocation being the family man or whom God ordinates for Marriage. God Bless.

I think a lot of people don't understand Catholicism.
The pope is not called by God. The cardinals get together and choose a pope.
All churches have a person who is in charge. Just because they don't call
That person the pope, doesn't mean there isn't a hierarchy. Also, for the record, the pope is the bishop of Rome.
Where did the Bible come from? Catholic councils. Martin Luther took a few books out of the Bible because he didn't like what they said. If you read a Bible that contains the books Martin Luther took out, you'll
find things that the Protestants now say aren't in the Bible.
Catholics have the Eucharist. We eat Jesus'' flesh- just like He Instructed in the Bible- every Mass, we adore Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration, and Catholics that truly know their faith, have a strong relationship with Jesus.

A lot of Christian denominations and other religions do that also. Their followers falling to their knees and crying when they meet the leader of their organizations. Even these nondenominational Christian churches, when the minister/pastor is a megastar, he has people crying when they meet him. Look at Joel Olsteen, Bishop TD Jakes, Rev Pat Robertson, and others. The Dalia Lama has his followers falling over and crying when they meet him. Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam, the same. And Farrakhan has non-Muslims falling over and crying when they meet him. Is it worship or these people feel God is working through these leaders?
I was born and raised Catholic till I was like 19, then became an atheist till 35. Was agnostic for a bit, now consider myself a Taoist. While I was a Catholic, we never worshipped the Pope. The Pope was just the head of the Catholic Church. The Popes are just continuing the line from St. Peter the Apostle whom Jesus chose to lead the Church while he was gone. So let's say like this, God is the captain of the ship, the Pope would be the 1st officer (2nd in command).

However, I don’t understand the prayers to saints & to Virgin Mary. One of the Ten Commandments is to not make idols.. and 1 Timothy says there is one god and ONE mediator between God & men which is Jesus Christ. I hope to make clear I ask this out of respect. That’s why the Apostles and Martyrs are happy to die for Christ, because they go to new life. I’d like someone in Heaven praying for me…they’re as close to Jesus as it gets.

I have never met a single Catholic that studied the faith and the Bible who left the faith for another Christian church. It was always those who did not study their faith nor read the Bible that left for a variety of reasons such as a charismatic minister, or good music, etc etc etc. But I know hundreds of Christians who looked past the ignorant assumptions of Catholicism who studied it and left their faith for Catholicism. The Catholic Church encourages their parishioners to study the Bible along with the traditions and writings of early church Fathers. Sola Scriptura was established as an edict so that you Protestants will not study the early history of the Catholic faith that Jesus set up in the 300 years before the first complete Bible (with New Testament). You also will not ask certain questions like why is the Catholic Bible longer than ours? What do you mean we do not study the same Bible Jesus studied? We (Protestants) removed seven books from the Old Testament during the reformation in the 1500’s? Why? What was in these books that you didn’t want me to read? Tobit, Judith, Maccabees, Wisdom of Solomon, Baruch, and Sirach

To Tatum’s point. I know it’s hard to accept certain Catholic beliefs when it’s not properly taught or understood. For me as a Black American Catholic, I can understand why other Black Christians in America question Catholicism and big part of that has to do with race wars, race percentages and American History. We are a small percentage in America but that’s because we are outnumbered as minorities in the United Sates and on top of that, we are the SECOND largest minority race in America after Hispanics whom are the highest percentage of Catholics as the highest minorities in America. For example, in Africa, Catholicism is by large a HUGE percentage but that’s because in the continent of Africa it’s primarily Black Africans lol so all based on region, continent, and country. In addition, Catholicism has grown dramatically in African within these past few years with hundreds of conversions.
Furthermore, in terms of the Ashes, Confessionals, Hail Mary’s, and Catholic rituals are actually all biblical lol it just depends on interpretations and which Holy Bible is being used because the Bible has been revised several times within these past few centuries. However, if you read and collect ancient Holy Scriptures in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English bibles (Douey Reims) that are the closest translation to these three sacred languages, you will see that many Catholic practices are biblical from traditional customs from the Old and New Testament. In Catholicism, there are three principles: Holy Scripture, Tradition, and Magisterium.
One last thing that I would add is I believe that when Candace started attending Holy Mass with her husband and children, the big part that’s changed her mind is the Traditional Latin Masses. Candace was not exposed to the weird and revised form of New Masses after Vatican II. On the contrary, she has been exposed to the ancient Holy Latin Mass celebrations that have been celebrated for over 1,500 years and to be a part of that history will change you spiritually and draw you closer to JESUS CHRIST through Holy Communion receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist. Amen! 🙏🏾

Christian here! 🙋‍♀I think it's beautiful she's allowing her husband to lead the household and creating unity in her family by not fighting over the details, but as far as her husband's question... as a Christian I do not believe that those who calls themselves "Christians" are the only ones who will go to heaven. To make that argument your husband is using that assumption that we all believe that which is not the case.
In fact, I believe anyone who sincerely believes in God and Jesus and follows his commands will go to heaven (even those who don't necessarily know the word). And it's a very personal walk with God and up to him. I don't assume to condemn or vindicate anyone because I'm not God. He is sovereign.
In fact it says in the New Testament that there are people who although they don't explicitly know God's word it is evidenced by their obedience to it that they have him and his laws written on their hearts (such as those who were alive before the New Testament that followed God before Jesus) . I think the problem is no one reads the Bible anymore and doesn't know these things.
Here is the scripture which talks explicitly about this. Which is why whether she is Christian or Catholic, Candace is going to heaven and so is anyone who obeys God's laws and has him written on their hearts. ..
"Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right....
And if the Gentiles obey God’s law, won’t God declare them to be his own people?....
And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit.
I encourage you to read the whole chapter. It's Romans 2

I was born and raised Catholic. I am grateful that they were there for my mom in the Bible studies around when I was 16. I can't speak to what drew her. My parents sent us to church every Sunday (they stayed at home, in bed, asleep). I had the rituals down pat but had no real relationship with God or Jesus. Up to that point my parents partied and drank 4-6 nights a week and smoked like chimneys every day. I don't know how it happened but overnight my mom left ALL of this. Needless to say my siblings and I had no idea what was going on. My dad followed her to God soon after. They thought the kids would be right behind them...did not happen like that at all. For the older ones the damage was done and we ran as fast as we could from God. It took years but one by one we each came over. The younger ones grew up in church. My parents moved to a Pentecostal church after a few years after accepting Christ. Later, I moved to a non denominational Christian church where I raised my children. But again I will forever be grateful for the Catholic church fellow believers being there. I can't imagine my life without God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and glad I don't have to!

Christianity is for every single person that believes that Jesus went to the cross, died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day 1st Corinthians 15:1-4. Being a Catholic does not make you a Christian neither walking into McDonald’s make you a hamburger. It is a relationship with Jesus, the one and true God 👏Catholicism has a lot of false teaching such as praying to the saints and Mary. The "even" in that sentence refers to other human beings. So would you mind asking Him to take that out of there if He is indeed the "god" you serve? It's confusing the rest of us... What a secular worldly thing to say, "Only GOD can judge me." You wish... He is merciful I understand you wanting to be judged only by Him but He allows His Chosen Ones to do that job as well. Being Catholic or ANY religion doesn't save you, but since you're in that "church" could you explain to me why NONE of the papacy seem to repent or be held accountable for so many of their leaders molesting children? Do you know what happens to the ones who've already been exposed? Yeah, you should look into that instead of just being a pew warmer in "church". They move the "bad ones" around to different "churches" so they can continue hurting kids. All that being said, are you on watch making sure all the kids are safe in your 'church'? Prolly not... Too much being exposed for me to ride the pedo train. Catholic Church = mother cult - ALL other protestant denominations = her babies just sayin... You want proof? Is there a pedophile epidemic in protestant churches? I know so... If that's the case where is it coming from? Momma cult "church" perhaps... Time to wake up and leave them all. Don't stay hopeful like they're going to be cleaned. They're not and if you're caught attached to these places when The Messiah comes back you will be counted among the godless no matter what. Protestantism can often be this way too just by people focusing on traditionalism over a relationship. Actually, now that I think of it, Christianity is pretty much dead in America. Catholic or Protestant... the church is a world away from where it should be. So never mind... carry on.

Protestantism is watered down and filtered version of the ORIGINAL FAITH/PRACTICES/RITUALS, which has been and still is practiced in the Orthodox Christianity.....which the Catholic Church splintered from .... and this filtering and watering down is why people do not understand the Icons, the sign of the Cross, the Eucharist, the thurible, the confession (kneeling before a priest and he covering you) and so many other things.... WE CHRISTIANS in the West are IGNORANT of our Christian Religion's History...... and that is why there is so much division (as spoken by to warn the Church), we have strayed and are far gone from the ORIGINS...
