I can’t wait for the cat to be revealed as some sort of badly executed Schrodinger’s Cat metaphor. Something about it being in the Sofi alive world and not in the dead world.
With questioning about "how could anyone even dislike this game" - some of it comes from the breakuo off screen of Max and Chloe, with many believing it to be pretty darn unexpected, something that if max were to seen again then chloe would come with; package deal shit y'know? So this coming out, the devs saying repeatedly they can't answer /any/ questions abt chloe pre launch (potentially because of how they've treated the relationship, definitely a way to have thrm break up but not as... Coldly/suddenly as it had been done imo) as well as the infamous "We /will/ honour both endings (of the first game) in DE" when it appears it is pretty much written seemingly as all on one ending, and the other having a few kinda dismissive things written to tie it in, whoch i think there would have been more acceptance if they came out and said "this is one of the timelines coming out of the "Save Arcadia Bay" ending rather than "This is the canon absolute ending of M&C" I guess it all comes down to treatment of something inportant to a lot of folk, especially queer folk who tied a lot of their initial identity in to this fiction (which we all have done, in terms of relating hard to fictional queer media stuff) and hoe it seems a bit dismissive, and then resulting in the internet doing what it does best and reacting very hard, and stirring itself up into a /STORM hahahaa/ (no i won't give up the day job dw) ans just getting more n more angry over what is, looking at this game, not the entirety of it all. As in, watching this play through it seems fun, I see a lot to enjoy and honestly the "day to day" interaction parts of it look great compared to the... Watching this stream VOD was my first direct exposure to what this franchise is actually like, but it sure does seem like something neat arose from the ashes of something less-than-neat. I'm invested...
The earlier games have some neat concepts and themes but they're hampered by the moment-to-moment execution of it all imo. This game does a lot better in that aspect, though some of it is still a bit awkward.

im only half way through the vod so i dont know if they talk about it but, i think Max using a digital camera has to do with Chloe's comments about her living in the past, and now Max is trying to move forward... or maybe she just likes the convenience idk.
