I am a 38 year old man. I am a hardened felon, grew up on the streets, done alot of hard time in some very rough prisons here in America, and every time I watch this beautiful little girl sing I cry like a baby. Watching her perform brings out emotions in me that nothing or nobody has ever done before. I don't even understand what is happening when she sings, but all I know is it's something very special. She truly is a gift from God. It's hard not to believe in God after witnessing her. There's no other explanation.

Yes, all of Jackies performances in AGT were great, but this one was definitely the best, incredible performance. It was like an angel had descended from heaven.

I've viewed this performance probably 100 times and have followed this young girl's career and development from the moment she opened her mouth on AGT (after my "No Way!" thought glancing over my should at the TV to see who was auditioning with such a beautiful clear soprano voice), but I've never heard anyone, even Jackie, sound more like an angel of God than she did with this appearance on AGT. I think that is because we emotionally believe that children who have gone to heaven to be angels are imbued with a special light that emanates from within, that their voices are crystalline and soothing, that you feel more at peace with yourself and the world just listening to them. That is what Jackie does for me and a number of people I know who are also her fans.
This is by far the greatest vocal performance ever on AGT. Like Sharon said it was heavenly. After all these years & watching this several hundred times I am still blown away by this.

Everytime I hear this or any Jackie I am stunned at the beauty of her voice. I listen to all Jackie's music every day and have been since the first time I heard her. And to know what a beautiful wonderful young girl she is just boggles the mind. If I had a daughter I would want her to be Jackie. She is a true role model for young and old alike.

One thing I can add::her intonation is perfect!When she goes from a lower note and jumps up an octave or more,she always hits the new note perfectly,right on the button..She sings so clearly and precisely,she almost sounds like a bell. I have been singing professionall, all my life,and let me tell you,it is no easy feat for an adult,and for a child,it is amazing and unbelievable! Art
Yes, Jackie is like all the greats, she makes it look easy, when in fact singing great songs like this at her level in incredibly difficult, especially at 10-11. Its far more difficult, than the shreiking that claims to be singing, that all too many singers do.
Jackie Evancho's music got me through boarding school, and in that case High School. Our teacher would play her music while we studied and it was the most relaxing thing ever. Really helped you study in a calm, peaceful atmosphere.
The first time I saw this video, I was moved, dumbfounded, amazed, Godsmacked... The way she sings; from her voice, to her gestures, to the way she closes her eyes as though she's lost in the spirit of the song, is incomparable. On top of that, the production on this particular performance was outstanding. The placed her on a white, lighted pedestal with a white, lighted backdrop in the long gown singing this song. The lighting removes any shadows beneath her giving the illusion of Jackie floating above the stage (like an angel) as she sings. Watch the video again and notice how the pedestal is invisible beneath her. BRILLIANT! This is a perfect performance regardless of your taste in music, your opinions of Jackie's talent or whether you like her personally, and regardless of who you were rooting for in the competition. Many great performances have taken place on the AGT, BGT, American Idol, X-Factor, etc. stages. I challenge anyone to find one more perfectly done than this one from any perspective. The second greatest live performance I have seen was Jackie's One Night One Drop performance when she sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters.
Yes I agree, that is one that is comparable to this song, I play Jackie's songs EVERY NIGHT, (along with Angelina Jordan) it's like i'm addicted or something, but it's a nice addiction
Interesting that you say gobsmacked, because when Jackie performed on BGT, as a guest singer, and sang an incredible performance of Nessun Dorma, one of the singer contestants who heard Jackie rehearsing, said she was gobsmacked by Jackie as well.
How many of those 134 "dislikes" would dislike it if it were their daughter performing thusly. It is beyond comprehension that anyone would "thumbs down" a performance like this.. especially since Pie Jesu was designed for a child soprano, male or female. No child could have sung this any better, so the emotions that are dredged up in the "dislikes" are likely dark.

If you look up its background and translation, you'll understand why AGT did the staging this way, and how stunning this performance really is. It is so fun to see that Jackie's fans return to view her AGT videos, just as I have just done. Like many of you I have watched many of Jackie's videos over and over and over again. Of the five performances she did on AGT 2010, I'm counting the duet with Ms Brightman too, I think Pie Jesu was actually her best. Her voice was so clear and steady throughout. I saw one fan's compilation video witch showed Judges Sharon and Howie's faces during the song and their expressions were of a sort of spiritual awe. Moving forward to Jackie's Dream with Me DVD Concert you can see how fast she upped her stage presence. Her comment about being possessed by the music, you can see it in her face, and when the song ends the little girl returns, it transforms both her and the listener. I love to listen to her interviews, she was so mature for a 10 year old and still so as a 14 year old. A wonderful role model for kids of all ages.

Jackie's parents wanted to get Jackie onto AGT because they wanted to have Jackie seen by AGT's huge audience because they knew that would help her grow her fan base on her youtube channel. But they were unprepared for the flood of offers that poured in after Jackie's first appearance, and the massive media blow-up. One of the first to speak with the Evancho the next day was David Foster, he discussed things with them, gave then expert advice, and offered them his manager and legal team. Jackie had sung with David Foster before, and the Evancho gladly accepted all David offered them. And they now realized there was a good chance that Jackie could end up winning. The Evancho never even thought of that possiblity before seeing the results of Jackie's first performance, and it was the LAST thing they wanted. They did not want Jackie to be tied down to a contract with AGT for a year or more. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON was because AGT was going to have a TOP TEN TOUR at season's end That Tour was TWENTY-FIVE STOPS IN JUST 37 days, And the winner would be the Headliner of the Tour, expected to perform at every stop. The Evanchos would not allow their little 10 year old girl to do that Tour, and NO judge in America would say she could be made to do it. So the producers and the Evanchos agreed Jackie would not be named the winner.

It needs to be said that AGT rejected her when she auditioned at 9yo and again when she auditioned the following year for the very season she performed in. She got in because her mother submitted a video on TH-cam for the contest they were having, which she won because AGT has no control over the TH-cam voting, and now they have a "little" problem. AGT has all contestants sign a legal document that forbids them to disclose anything about the inner workings of the show, with each violation costing $50,000. The top ten are also under legal obligation to perform in all 25 shows of the Vegas Tour, and are financially responsible for any losses incurred for not performing. Then there's the voting system that gives AGT full control over who wins or not. Everyone that is "voting" is allowed to vote up to 10 times for each performance, but AGT can withhold anyone to a single vote at their sole discretion. 9 people voting for "A" only get one vote, and the single person voting for "B" gets 10, "B" wins 10 votes to 9. It's simple as that, and there's no legislation against it since this is a "talent" show.]. Their "little" problem is that a child cannot be legally held to a contract, regardless of the circumstances, hence the reason they rejected her twice. So what happened? She performs once, everyone goes nuts, and they "award" her and her family to a trip to Universal Studios and the Harry Potter thingy. Once in that controlled environment negotiations with the parents can begin while the kids are entertained. She couldn't win, imagine if they let it happen and the parents decided not to allow her to perform in the Vegas Tour. Now they have to go to the sponsors and tell them she gets the prize money and won't be in the Tour, and there's nothing they can legally do about it. Bye Bye sponsors for next year. They got a few shows out of her, and were lucky to get that.

I doubt that we will ever seen anything as perfect as this again in our life times. every thing about this clip is perfect. the setting, the dress the cinematography but this little girl upstages every thing. I've watched this a lot. From the comments and my own observation - how can you not think that Jackie is a vessel expressing God's love. ( a lot of Meds. ) but after all this time they don't help all that much. I'm watching AGT one night and along comes this 10yo little girl who looked like an Angel and she opened her mouth and out came this Beautiful sound, and for 3 or 4 minutes I almost forgot I was in pain. I listened to every one of her performances and each time, as she was singing most of my pain was almost gone and this song was the best. After that day I would buy every bit of music that she put out and find every Performance that was out on youtube and to this day whenever I hear her my pain is less. So to sum it up, she looks like an Angel, she sings like an Angel, she's as sweet as an Angel, and she helps take away pain. On top of that, the production on this particular performance was outstanding. The placed her on a white, lighted pedestal with a white, lighted backdrop in the long gown singing this song. The lighting removes any shadows beneath her giving the illusion of Jackie floating above the stage (like an angel) as she sings. Watch the video again and notice how the pedestal is invisible beneath her. BRILLIANT! This is a perfect performance regardless of your taste in music, your opinions of Jackie's talent or whether you like her personally, and regardless of who you were rooting for in the competition. Many great performances have taken place on the AGT, BGT, American Idol, X-Factor, etc. stages. I challenge anyone to find one more perfectly done than this one from any perspective. The second greatest live performance I have seen was Jackie's One Night One Drop performance when she sang Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

It is so fun to see that Jackie's fans return to view her AGT videos, just as I have just done. Like many of you I have watched many of Jackie's videos over and over and over again. Of the five performances she did on AGT 2010, I'm counting the duet with Ms Brightman too, I think Pie Jesu was actually her best. Her voice was so clear and steady throughout. I saw one fan's compilation video witch showed Judges Sharon and Howie's faces during the song and their expressions were of a sort of spiritual awe. Moving forward to Jackie's Dream with Me DVD Concert you can see how fast she upped her stage presence. Her comment about being possessed by the music, you can see it in her face, and when the song ends the little girl returns, it transforms both her and the listener. I love to listen to her interviews, she was so mature for a 10 year old and still so as a 14 year old. A wonderful role model for kids of all ages.

Jackie's parents wanted to get Jackie onto AGT because they wanted to have Jackie seen by AGT's huge audience because they knew that would help her grow her fan base on her youtube channel. But they were unprepared for the flood of offers that poured in after Jackie's first appearance, and the massive media blow-up. One of the first to speak with the Evancho the next day was David Foster, he discussed things with them, gave then expert advice, and offered them his manager and legal team. Jackie had sung with David Foster before, and the Evancho gladly accepted all David offered them.
And they now realized there was a good chance that Jackie could end up winning. The Evancho never even thought of that possiblity before seeing the results of Jackie's first performance, and it was the LAST thing they wanted. They did not want Jackie to be tied down to a contract with AGT for a year or more. BUT
THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON was because AGT was going to have a TOP TEN TOUR at season's end That Tour was TWENTY-FIVE STOPS IN JUST 37 days, And the winner would be the Headliner of the Tour, expected to perform at every stop. The Evanchos would not allow their little 10 year old girl to do that Tour, and NO judge in America would say she could be made to do it. So the producers and the Evanchos agreed Jackie would not be named the winner.

It needs to be said that AGT rejected her when she auditioned at 9yo and again when she auditioned the following year for the very season she performed in. She got in because her mother submitted a video on TH-cam for the contest they were having, which she won because AGT has no control over the TH-cam voting, and now they have a "little" problem. AGT has all contestants sign a legal document that forbids them to disclose anything about the inner workings of the show, with each violation costing $50,000. The top ten are also under legal obligation to perform in all 25 shows of the Vegas Tour, and are financially responsible for any losses incurred for not performing. Then there's the voting system that gives AGT full control over who wins or not. Everyone that is "voting" is allowed to vote up to 10 times for each performance, but AGT can withhold anyone to a single vote at their sole discretion. 9 people voting for "A" only get one vote, and the single person voting for "B" gets 10, "B" wins 10 votes to 9. It's simple as that, and there's no legislation against it since this is a "talent" show.]. Their "little" problem is that a child cannot be legally held to a contract, regardless of the circumstances, hence the reason they rejected her twice. So what happened? She performs once, everyone goes nuts, and they "award" her and her family to a trip to Universal Studios and the Harry Potter thingy. Once in that controlled environment negotiations with the parents can begin while the kids are entertained. She couldn't win, imagine if they let it happen and the parents decided not to allow her to perform in the Vegas Tour. Now they have to go to the sponsors and tell them she gets the prize money and won't be in the Tour, and there's nothing they can legally do about it. Bye Bye sponsors for next year. They got a few shows out of her, and were lucky to get that.

I'm watching AGT one night and along comes this 10yo little girl who looked like an Angel and she opened her mouth and out came this Beautiful sound, and for 3 or 4 minutes I almost forgot I was in pain. I listened to every one of her performances and each time, as she was singing most of my pain was almost gone and this song was the best. After that day I would buy every bit of music that she put out and find every Performance that was out on youtube and to this day whenever I hear her my pain is less. So to sum it up, she looks like an Angel, she sings like an Angel, she's as sweet as an Angel, and she helps take away pain.
