Good stuff. I have struggled with my Haglund's off and on and more as of late. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks!

I have tried to run more than 30 miles per week for YEARS but always end up with achilles tendon issues. Your video shed a lot of light for me. Thank you

Asics gel trabuco max 2 women's, worked for me as a walking shoe. I use with arch support wrap.
I was told my haglunds was too far gone for radial shockwave therapy to work, but didn't want the bone shaved and ligament taken from toes as I was told it could cause arthritis in old age and pain during cold weather.
I stopped running, transitioned to incline treadmill power walking now sadly stopped that due to plastic in back of trainers shredding me heal

Hi Vanessa, thanks so much for your videos. I've subscribed. I think my Haglunds was brought on by starting to wear hard leather boots + increase in running volume.
Anyway, I have a question - my mind has been blown because I've been erring toward buying running shoes that have at least some sort of padding in the counter (ie; Saucony, or NB atm). I've steered very clear of Nike because they look like they have next to no counter and I thought that the hard back would inflame the area - could you please enlighten me to your logic behind what/why to pick the shoes you do? I'm am going to buy some KT Tape as it looks great!
I don't know if this helps but I have extremely flat feet but also get 0 achilles pain - just localised swelling and pain!

yes when I work security I wear soft leather boots and always tape. If I wear cowboy boots, they are big enough not to rub my heel. Avoid the padding and heel counter, that is what is hurting you, soft, pliable minimal material in the back. The padded collars hug your heel, last thing you want. if you are flat footed, you probably don't need an insole. Hope this helps

I assumed all HD required surgery? I’m currently dealing with it but have not went to a doctor yet.

30% of the population has it, so obviously not. Galen Rupp ran through it for over a decade before surgery. I have managed mine and gotten faster in the last 5 years

respectfully disagree. Galen Rupp, our most famous American Marathoner took over a year before he was back to training as was our other olympian Riley. I have been able to maintain it without surgery and do pretty well

But all football boots are hard from back side

    • @Fitness23
      @Fitness23  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi. I would think the most important part is to buy boots at least a 1/2 size larger so you can put lots of taping over your problem area and use compression socks to stop the rub. Always ice after practice. Best of luck and let me know how it is going

You are so incredible! I'm a 4.5 tennis player and had to take four months off for my haglund's deformity with physical therapy. I was feeling better and started slowly playing again yet it is already starting to get aggravated. Do you have any recommendation for tennis players, including what tennis shoes are good? I was using Asics Gel Resolution 8, but I wonder if it's too thick in the heel. Thank you--you are incredible! :)

Ha!! you are in luck because I also have been a 4.5 singles player and had been nationally ranked in the age groups for over 10 years and was plagued by my Haglunds and would limp off the court at the end of a hard match. So if you watch Andy Murray or Serena Williams they wear Ankle braces which allows them to be more immobile in their shoes and really push against the braces esp for the serve. www.betterbraces.com/aircast-a60-ankle-support-2 is what i am talking about there are lots of brands. www.amazon.com/McDavid-Deluxe-Ankle-Brace-Strap/dp/B000V3ZLQE/ref=sr_1_17?gclid=Cj0KCQiAyracBhDoARIsACGFcS4BymPG8ZcVN7pIC0wN_PLaw8yUjAGhnL55Nwta-7R32t93YtCvpKsaAgkCEALw_wcB&hvadid=616990591913&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9027273&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=5064343583569433534&hvtargid=kwd-320857676057&hydadcr=21880_13401796&keywords=ankle%2Bbraces%2Bfor%2Btennis&qid=1670272629&sr=8-17&th=1 I used the McDavid brand get one that is fully adjustable, not just elastic. Now also your hagunds won't rub on your shoe.
you need a show with enough room in the heal and yes stay away from the Asics with the hard cup. New Balance or Adidas are better with more padding too. For me the Nike is too wide in the toe box so I foot would go forward so it is about what fits you the best but get the braces and go to a store and try on the shoes. Hope this helps

I thought I'd asked but I don't see it anymore. How long (how many hours) is the longest you've worn the tape? I'm going on a cruise in a few days I'm going to try taping it and on other days I got some other types of padding to try. Just going to see what helps for walking around the cruise ship or walking in ports. Hope you answer soon, I leave Friday, thanks! :)

My podiatrist just said "try some padding to see if it helps" but he didn't really offer any specific padding to try, lol.

      Hi Megan
I can wear the same tape for at least 24-36 hours, through a run 4-6 miles a shower and 12 hours of work. Sometimes I even sleep with it on and can use it the next day. If you wear it when you sleep, keep your socks on so it doesn't catch on the sheets and come off on the edges. Have a nice cruise

Kt Tape Pro comes in precut strips. I cut mine about 60/40 and round off the corners. Any other questions, happy to answer,

not if I take care of myself, I am just having overall foot pain now because I tried again to run in those new adidas shoes and they don't work for me. The haglunds is manageable
