- New Driver Links below and a FULL walkthrough guide on how to setup the ONEXGPU 1 and 2 using the Lenovo Legion Go (same guide for Rog Ally X). This video also includes Tips and Best Practices for getting the most out of these devices. You can also use this guide with the GPD G1. More details below...
NOTE: If the ONEXGPU xconnect icon isn't there after updating the drivers, you need to install the ccc2_install file again to get AMD Settings App working again. First, you may have to uninstall the old AMD Software blue boardered AMD logo app (only uninstall this one, don’t touch the full red logo app) under “Apps - Installed Apps”. After a restart then install ccc2 app then restart again. Now you should be all set! You can right click on your desktop to open the AMD software or use the mini task bar AMD icon to open the “AMD Settings App” which will show up as adrenaine. 😊

IMPORTANT - I highly recommend setting your Legion Go or Rog Ally X TDP to balanced (17-20W max) on the side bar menu when connected to the onexgpu. Having it higher can starve the onexgpu’s power and can cause disconnetion issues from your handheld. This can cause stuttering or crashes. You can also lower the OS setting in the same menu to efficiency or balance (CPU boost off for the Ally). Lowering your Legion go VRAM in the bios to 3GB or auto can also help. (You can do the same with the Rog Ally X)
If you’re still having disconnection issues you can also try disabling usb power saving mode in the windows settings. (Credit to FunnyGamer for this tip ✌🏻)
If you're using the Legion Go display and it's still flipping to portrait in game, try changing the display settings in the game to windowed or windowed borderless instead of fullscreen.
Having disconnection issues? The onex provided Thunderbolt4 cable is a major culprit for stability and connection issues. Upgrading the cable is a good idea.
Active vs. Passive Thunderbolt 4 cables:
Active cables include technology that help boost transfer rates over cable lengths greater than 0.8M. This allows you to maintain full transfer speeds across the entire length of the cable. If you purchase a passive cable length greater than 0.8M, you are only going to receiving 20 Gbps transfer speeds. www.razer.com/...

I hope you'll love the ONEXGPU as much as I do. Thank you for the support! ✌🏻
If you use these drivers with the Asus Rog Ally X, it will kill your bluetooth connection to wireless earbuds, it's a Realtek issue. Everytime you pair headphones it will crash to blue screen . If you have a Ally X and are cool with using wired headphones go for it..
That’s really interesting and strange lol. Thanks for sharing!
Let me know if you find a fix. Means I can’t use my ONEXGPU otherwise!
Please let me know if you find a solution I thought i was the only one or had a faulty device
@reke9942 nah , I just bought wired headphones to use. Using the eGPU is worth the trade off. We'll see what happens with future updates.
You really should consider pinning this comment or at least put it in the description. A lot of people with Ally X's are using this video not knowing the repercussions and down side to doing this. @GamingRepairs
this is absolutely the best video anyone with the LeGo and OneXGPU should be watching
Thank you! I appreciate it! 😊🙌🏻
This video is THE definitive guide for getting the OneXGPU and LegionGo playing nice together! I had completely botched the install and was starting to freak out a bit when I came across this video. I followed the instructions to the letter and now everything is running like a dream! A thousand times thank you for making this vid 😁😁
Yes! That’s what I like to hear! I’m super glad it helped and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know. 😁🙌
Without this video I don't know what I would have done with the extremely vague instructions that come with the device, your expertise in this field is greatly appreciated. I've subscribed to the channel and liked the video.
Thank you for the support and taking the time to write me a note! I felt like it was super vague too. I’m glad the time I’ve invested in the channel is helping the community. 😊✌🏻
"Bro", how many guides do you need, its third one lol
Hopefully this is the last one lol.
Coming back after a few days from testing Legion GO with OneXGPU1 with the advices from your video, I can everything is working fine, before I had an problem with disconnections but I watched your video with the thunderbolt cables compared and I’ve decided to take an Razer Thunderbolt 4 since I was running mortal kombat 1 with everything on Ultra mode without turbo ( wasn’t necessary) and from time to time I’ve got disconnections between OneXGPU1 and Legion go. Thanks for the videos and info , good work! Happy New Year!🎉
I’m so glad to read that! You’re very welcome. 🙌🏻 Happy New Year! 🥳
This video is a lifesaver. I just got my OneX GPU and it wasn't being detected at all. Following this step-by-step really helped! Subscribed to your channel 😊

I plan on getting a onexgpu for my LeGo and was looking for an install video that actually makes sense and is comprehensive. Thank you for making this. I saved it to my watch list after 5 minutes.
I appreciate that! 😊🫶
RESPECT! Got the blue screen of death from your original video but that was my fault not yours! This install worked great! Thank you!! Saved me heaps of time working it out myself.

This might be my TH-cam helpful video of 2024. Honestly I’m more curious how you figured out all the steps to solve this! This worked perfectly for my ally x. You’re a hero!
Awe thanks! And you’re welcome! It was interesting for sure lol. Lots of discovery, trials and error troubleshooting to figure out the issues. Back in February there was zero content in this. Once I figured it out, I needed to share it with the world haha. 😁🙌🏻
You are a blessing and life saver! Merry Christmas and thanks for the help!

good work! i just got my OneXGPU2 today Nov 17th 24, and havent got my ROG ally X yet.. but i tried installing onto my intel Razer blade, the video is very useful, i wouldnt have figured it out! reminds me why i havent used Win for such a long time
That’s great to hear! Thanks for leaving me a comment on it. When are you getting the Ally X? 😁
Will be updating with this soon. Havent played on it in a bit. You saved me when it first came out!! Just wanted to see if your still making stuff. Almost 1k lets go!
Thanks! I’m super close. 😊👍
Incredible! THANK YOU!! You're a rock star. This video is so well done and thorough. I thought my onexgpu was worthless and that I just wasted my money trying to get some more juice out of my Legion Go. 😊😊👌👌
You’re welcome! There was a learning curve for sure but I’m glad this video is helping others. Thanks for taking the time to write me a note! 😁🙌🏻
And still using this process to update drivers. Once again thank you Nelly
We go with what we know works lol.
Thank you so much for the video ! I was struggling with my ROG Ally X I wanted to connect with a RX 6800 and a Razer Core. I followed your instructions and everything is working smoothly 🙏
You’re welcome! I’m glad you found the video and that it helped. Thanks for taking the time to write me a note! 😊🙌🏻
Thanks a lot for this really indepth, but easy to follow video. You have sorted out my eGPU frequent disconnection problem with your advice about the Legio Go power settings. It has made a world of difference, and now I can use a longer Thunderbolt 4 cable, too.

thank you for doing the lord's work. wish this was simpler. also thanks for making many updated videos. I accidentally did the legion go driver update from legion space and had to do all this again
You’re welcome! 😊🫶 If you need any help, just ask. 👍
thank you for this step by step, i just ordered this and am excited to install and use it on my go.
No problem! Come back and let me know what you think when you get it. 😊
This is a wonderful guide! I followed each step and had zero problems 😊 thanks for this. Good job too, you explained everything well and in a way I was able to understand easily and I’m very new to pc/handheld gaming but I never once was lost or confused.
You are very welcome. Thanks for the great feedback, I appreciate it! I put thought and effort in to try to taylor to different learning styles. It makes me happy to see that the guide is working and helping. 😊
Absolutely top notch helpful guide! I followed everything to the letter and it worked perfectly first time. The only difference I noticed is that the driver download for both the 7600M-XT and the integrated graphics 7840U are identical now so no need to download both.
Great! 😁🙌🏻
Thank you! I appreciate it. 😊 That’s interesting about the driver.
Thanks Nelly! New drivers are working great on the Legion. Great video it was a very smooth installation 😊
Thank you! 💕
helpful and quick! Especially after a driver update after doing this some months ago. Thank you!
You’re welcome! Thanks for the positive feedback! 😁
lol thanks for the video. I just ordered my ally X and I was looking all around for videos on how to setup and install: setup to my onexgpu. It’s alot but I’ll try my best to follow your steps. From this video. Before I do that it’s a video on how to update all of my ally X so I’ll update all of my drivers first & get things setup then I’ll come here and follow your steps. 😂 I hope I don’t mess things up
Yes, exactly. 😁👍
After you run through this setup, armoury crate will show a driver update again for the official Ally X driver, just don’t install all and always skip that install.
If you run into any issues, ask and I’ll help you through it. There’s a bunch more details in the description too.
@@GamingRepairs thank you

Glad someone sent me this before I set it up, I woul've never figured all this out lol.
Yeah, it’s not like it comes with great instructions 😂.
Lots of trial and error till I sorted all this out. I’m happy it was sent your way. 😊
@@GamingRepairs after using it a bunch over the last 3-4 days, i still get a disconnect every 3 or so hours which can be really annoying, got the same cable that you said to order as well, any clue what i might be doing wrong? only thing i've seen is to set the LG itself to balanced but wouldn't that cause performance issues for CPU-intensive stuff?
could it also maybe be an issue of an extension cord not delivering enough power? cuz i got mine plugged into one because it wouldn't reach the wall otherwise.
Did you pull out the adapter on the brick and get a PC power cord with a ground to extend it? (Like in this video link below)

4/17 Drivers are really good on HD2, noticeable improvement.
That’s great news 😁. I’ll update it tomorrow.
@@GamingRepairsHello nelly! There is another update for the amd drivers on the website at the moment for both 7840u and 7600m xt (24.4.1). If I am going to update the drivers, should I follow all these steps again or can I just manually download the drivers and install them? Thanks!
@@TsekMeytPlays Hi! I have a quicker video to cover updates so that we don’t break anything in the process. 😊
ONEXGPU How To Install New AMD Drivers With The Legion Go
th-cam.com/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/w-d-xo.html
Okay now I know why people just say to get an NVIDIA card when doing this 😂😂
Still appreciate you covering this though :)
Yeah, the AMD card is easy if you have a 7840u or 8840u device. But with the Z1 Extreme ones, you have to jump through a few hoops. Nvidia will just work without all the fuss for the Legion go and Ally X. Shame on AMD for making the official driver incapable. Hope they fix that. 😂👍
Thank you man very helpful! I’ve tried today and worked great! Only think I don’t see is the overlay option in the program but the video cards are working very good!
You’re welcome! 😊
If you’re using the Ally X, the armoury crate fps overlay works now with this driver. If you’re using the Legion go, the legion space overlay fps counter might work now with the recent update. I don’t have a legion go anymore to confirm it though.
@ I have a legion go, I will check later on. Thank you!
hi nelly! i forgot to ask you if you do this driver setup situation, what happens if there are times u wont be usingthe egpu. What happens to your ally X's own drivers, is there going to be an issue
Hey! 😊I use my Ally X all the time with or without the eGPU. There’s no issue at all with the drivers when you’re not using the eGPU. It still works great solo with the 780m driver (which is a much newer driver with newer game optimizations over its official driver package).👌
This video saved my butt. Went out of town for a week and my X1 won't charge and died so I can't do the bios flash. I forgot my Dell XPS 3 in 1 as a back up. Thankfully I brought my legion go. With the egpu it would be able to run 4 portable monitors...if I brought all the right cables🤣. But its running 2 no problem and then using my ipad pro as a 3rd monitor with duet
Love the clever improve to solve your problem! Good stuff! 😂🙌🏻
@@GamingRepairsThank you!
I've always had an issue with my onexgpu not working sometimes, I thought it was the oculink cable. Id restart the x1 a few times and it would usually work. The other day I couldn't get it to work with the x1, then tried it on the legion go, it wouldn't work there either. Have you had that issue?
You want to make sure the drivers are updated to the same one. I noticed on the Legion go that after I updated the onexgpu on the X1, I had to do it on the Legion go to match the driver versions.
You might want to try my Oculink fix/install video for the X1 if the issue persists. I can’t remember if you ran through that video yet or not.
@@GamingRepairs thank you so much! I'll try that!
Thank you Nelly, i think everything is set up following every step of this video.
The only thing i couldnt get to work was the AMD settings app to appear for some reason.. i will run some games and test this out
You’re welcome! Sometimes you have to install the ccc2 app file again then restart the device and it should come back.
@@GamingRepairs thank you ! though its still not there, it is working magically.
Would you be doing an upload on a guide with the AFMF2 install to work with these devices also?
I haven’t had a chance to play around with it yet. Once I find some time I’ll see if I can put something together or at the very least report back to you. 😊
@@GamingRepairs love your work!! Thank you :]
@kokodack 🥰🙌🏻
Great guide. Just used this to set up my OneXGpu. Mine works but I can access AMD adrenaline or AMD settings even though it shows it’s installed. The Xconmect icon is there and it all works no issue, but do I need to go back and reinstall that ccc2 file?
Thanks! Yeah, just go back into the AMD folder and manually install the ccc2 file again, restart and you should be good to use the AMD settings app.
Hey Nelly, I'm having a blast with m OneX and Legion Go, thanks to you! It is my first gaming PC and I'm wondering about updates. Do I still do the Bios updates with my handheld? I understand I'll do the new drivers update when available, but don't know if I need to update Bios when available... Thanks for the help
Hey! I’m glad you’re loving it! 😊 Yes, you’ll want to update the bios and other things aside from the AMD drivers (which are done the same way as in this video or you can use my new driver updates video for a shorter guide).
Love the video very easy to understand thanks so much. But had a question what are the settings you have it on I’m having a hard time running game the onex keeps disconnecting while I play the games.
Thank you! TDP should be set to Balanced and VRAM on the Legion Go to the lowest number or auto. If the OneXGPU is still having disconnection issues, the problem might be the Thunderbolt 4 cable especially if you’re still using the original OneX cable that came with it. I have more note in the description on the video in case something in there helps you too.
@@GamingRepairs awesome thanks so much for the reply I will try it Thanks again 🙏
@manuelalvarado7270 You’re welcome!
Hi! If I’m starting this process on the ROG Ally X today, can I assume that I’m getting the most up to date drivers? Thank you!
Hey! Yes, the link in the description will take you to the most updated drivers. I actually go back to this video for the links every time I want to update. I always keep the links updated if there’s any changes from Asus.
That’s correct. If you search the windows search bar for AMD, do any apps pop up? If so, what’s the name?
Check out the pinned comment for the Ally X too. The current drivers knock out the Bluetooth audio.
Do you know what the reason would be for the "Processors with Graphics" option to not be showing up under Browse Products on the AMD website? I'm trying to get this set up with the Ally X. Thankfully you provided links, but I was hoping to check to see if there were updated drivers since this video is over 5 months old now.
I keep the links up to date so it’ll take to you the right page with the newest drivers. August 29th was the most recent driver date. I use the same links from this description to update my devices every month. 😊

Awesome stuff. Thanks!
You’re welcome! 😁
If I’m doing this process again with the last set of drivers you helped me install. At the beginning when you tell us to update all drivers, do I need to erase the previous ones you helped me install or just update from armory crate and proceed?
You can update everything except for the graphics driver in armoury crate. That’ll put your original driver back. You can follow this one for the update process. It’s shorter. 😊
th-cam.com/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Sy0stUjdN6Yw-5Pw
@@GamingRepairs Thank you! Everything works great. I had to unplug and plug back in a few things when it first started up after updating to get it all to work together, but now it’s time to experiment with some games and see if everything goes smoothly. You are awesome.
Yay! 😁 You’re welcome! 🫶
Good stuff! I am assuming this process is the same anytime an update is released? If Lenovo releases and new AMD GPU update / etc. via Legion Space or where. We just download the latest of these two drivers and press forward all over again?
Thanks! Yes, the process is the same for updating. Don’t update the driver in Legion Space or windows for the legion go. It will override the side load and cause issues with the egpu. Only use the AMD site 2 drivers (links in description) and the same process and you’ll be good to game! 😁👌
Good information on this page…
I’m currently looking into putting a egpu set up together on my LG for call of duty & Warzone mainly and all other A games subscription base or from owning the game. Activision is not doing well with the game and driver issues but COD & Warzone crash on everything I put it on on my LG. From Steam, BattleNet, or GamePass Ult.
I was looking at the 7900XTX Nitro+ but someone mentioned that pairing AMD GPU (AMD with AMD) with the LG for egpu is not a good idea?
Would the 4070 Ti Super be best?
My main concern was the VRam & I was more so looking for 20GB or 24GB if that would help run COD/Warzone now & BO6 and coming soon future releases.
TV or Monitor wise... I don't own a monitor and I usually connect to my tv's which are 4K or TV's/Monitors on the go...
What would be the best GPU 20GB or 24GB for eGPU (leave out the cost; what are the best ones?)
Hey! The Nvidia cards will pair better with the Legion Go. This way you can keep the original AMD driver and software while seamlessly using GeForce with Nvidia. The more Ram the better especially for a little extra future proofing. You might not want to run at 4K when you connect to your TV. With the eGPU I’d lower the resolution to 1440p or 1080p if you want even more FPS with COD.
The thing with the Legion go is that the Thunderbolt 4 connection will limit the performance with a cap on any graphics card that you buy(40Gbps). Handhelds with the Oculink connection yield the best results currently because the cap is higher (60Gbps). I have 2 video that you can check out using Cyberpunk if you want to see what I mean. Same graphics card and settings with 2 different connections types.

@@GamingRepairs Okay, cool. Is there any Nvidia GPU that you would recommend for eGPU with good memory?
@@KINGOFKINGS-VAF Which egpu enclosure are you wanting to get? Some are restricted for which cards you can use.
@@GamingRepairs no preference at the moment. I was going to build base off of the GPU
You could do a RTX 4090, 4080, or 4070 with a minimum of at least 16GB. You’ll need a Thunderbolt 4 connection for the Legion go on the enclosure but ideally you also want to have an oculink port in case you upgrade later to a device with oculink. This would bring your cap on performance from 40Gbps with Thunderbolt 4 to 60Gbps with oculink. No matter which card you get, the Legion go Thunderbolt 4 connection bandwidth will bottleneck the GPU.
Do you see much of a performance hit with that 2m razer cable? Been thinking about getting a longer one for couch play aswell.
So its pricy but I went with the Apple Thunderbolt 4 pro cable 6ft 2.8m cable. They also make a 9ft / 3M also. It is active cable and lets me have the room to move the LeGo around the desk or go to the couch. It can provide upto 100w of power to the LeGo and has been very stable. Tried using amazon CableMatters brand and there were issues. I know $129 usd is a lot for a cable however I have about $1300 invested in this device so far.
The Razer 2M and the Apple Pro are both active cables and good but they’re expensive. It’s worth the price though if you need the length to keep a stable performance. The Razer 2M one works well for me. I picked it up for less with a birthday coupon from Razer directly.
Hi Nelly! Is it essential to side load drivers on the GO itself? That’s my main hesitation
Hi! 😊 100%. If you don’t, it won’t work. It’s super easy to switch back to the official driver. I actually prefer the 780m driver because I can update to the optimized version monthly versus every 4-6 months when the official one finally updates.
@@GamingRepairsthank you for the reply. Are the drivers in this video still the current ones?
You’re welcome! The links in the description will take you to the current drivers. 😊
Thanks very much for this great help
You’re welcome! 😊
Hey, great video, I'm interested in picking up the onexgpu to get higher fps, specifically for shooter games. Would you say it's worth the performance boost?
You said once you update the legion go drivers, the legion go settings overlay will no longer be compatible because you no longer have the amd interal graphics drivers. Does that only hold true if you're using the onexgpu with it? I enjoy using the overlay to switch between my settings I use for gaming and the settings I use for my workstation set up with a portable monitor.
Thank you! It’s a 3 times performance boost for graphics. For me it is worth it but for others that might not be.
For example when I last did time spy benchmarking…
You get a 3336 score with just the Legion Go. With the OneXGPU connect and using the Legion Go display you get 8226 then if you connect to an external Monitor the score jumps to 9534.
Once you update the Legion Go driver from the AMD Radeon Graphics to the AMD 780m Graphics you lose the FPS overlay counter functionally. It will still tell you temps. Everything else in the settings side bar should still work.
@@GamingRepairsThanks for the reply.
I use a dock to utilize it as a workstation on my legion go. Am I able to plug the ONEXGPU into the USB C port on my dock or should I plug the ONEX into the legion go's top port and the dock into the bottom port?
Also, just to confirm, updating drivers will only take away FPS counter functionality and not anything like resolution and refresh rate functionality on the pop out menu correct?
Thanks again!
@@bridgerwilliamson721 I still use it for those funnctions. You'll plug the onexgpu on the top Legion Go Thunderbolt port. You could connect directly to the bottom for your dock if you want. Since the onexgu has 2 usb ports, I have a powered usb hub connected to the onexgpu for my mouse, keyboard and camera. Then I typically plug my mic into the other usb port right one the onexgpu and leave the bottom legion port empty. Display out always direct from the onexgpu so you don't have a bottleneck.
@@GamingRepairs awesome! I’m thinking about ordering one. Now that they’re being sold on the official site, are they shipping right away?
@@bridgerwilliamson721 It should ship right away. They used to have a date listed but I don’t see one anymore which means it’s in stock. It took about a week to get to me in Canada when my order shipped.
Hi thanks for the great video! Do we absolutely need to change the Legion Go driver? I know little about computer and scared to modify the original driver. If its necessary, will it change how we update the GO when updates are available? Sorry if the question seems weird, but I don't want to mess anything up on my favorite handheld. Thanks again
Hey, no problem! It’s needed if you want to use an external monitor and not have issues. I did make a video for updating drivers when they come out. It takes about 5-10 minutes to update both when new drivers come out.
th-cam.com/video/tYuo2eVdcWE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JbgoJBL_7lztpwiQ
So, if I want to use on handheld only, I would only need the driver you mentionned fit OneX in that video?
@@joh9836 You can use the outdated driver from the Onex Onedrive. It's linked in the description of my intial install that I recorded and the one I used before I started having issues with external monitors, etc. This link will take you to the video page with the onedrive link from onex:

Thanks! Now my Legion Go isn't freaking out from this GPU.
you really saved me here🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yay! 😁👍🙌
I noticed after installing the OneX drivers first, that it shown the caution logo next to the driver? I followed 100% everything but its showing a caution logo by the OneX drive when in device manager
Never mind. It seemed to have removed this logo. So with this complete, will I see a difference in some games with these drivers installed, and updated with this OneX Egpu?
That’s good lol. You should see better performance with these drivers. If you use the stock Legion go driver, games crash and there’s issues with the eGPU. This will help you get off on the right foot so that you don’t have to go through the same leg work I did. 😁👍
If I am updating the onex graphics driver with the latest one, do I need to uninstall the current one before installing the newest driver?
No, I’ve never had to. If you do have problems though then you’ll want to DDU and start fresh.
@@GamingRepairs after I updated both drivers to June's release, the Legion Go seems to be having issues running games on its on. Have you had this issue?
I haven’t done the June updates yet. Which games is it having issues with?
@GamingRepairs it seems to be them all. Total use of the Legion Go as a handheld is removed. I am going to try and revert back to an older driver version or I am going to try the official driver from lenovo to see if it makes a difference.
Hey my 780m graphics gets the faulty icon when I plug in my one x gpu 7600 mxt. How do I fix this?
Hey! 😊 Without the OneXGPU connected, try installing the ccc2_install application again then restart your device. Let me know if that doesn’t fix it.
I searched I cannot find ccc2_install? I'm on legion go.
It will in the C drive - AMD - AMD Software - Packages - Drivers - Display - W INF - B##### folder - ccc2_install
I’m going off memory but that trail of folders should be close enough to get you to that application file.
@@GamingRepairs just downloaded ccc install it didn't work.
What is the date on both the 7600m XT and the 780m in the device manager?

Hi mate, could you let me know how you did it with your Ally X? I am having nothing but issues. Do I just leave the ASUS provided graphics drivers installed? I cannot download Ally X Graphics drivers from the ASUS website. I need help :(
@Robin2win14 Hi! The links to the drivers for both the onexgpu/gpd g1 and the Legion go/Ally x are in the description. Those are the only drivers you can use and they are directly from AMD, not Asus. Please try running through the guide again using those two drivers. The Legion go and Ally x use the same AMD driver.

Hey Nelly! I’m back 😂 so I went through the setup of the OneX and have two questions.
Seems like it connected fine and has the current driver, but there’s no solid RGB and you mentioned “that means there’s a problem” any ideas what that might be? Also, how do I ensure my Legion Go is using the OneX and not internal driver between handheld and docked sessions? Thank you!!
Hey! I’m going to write out a very long detailed note of things to check. 😂 Try shutting down the go and turn off the OneXGPU. TB4 cable is plugged into the top port. Turn on the OneXGPU first, when you see the blue light come, power on the legion go. The RGA should light up and stay on for the OneXGPU. (You can turn off the RGB if you hold down the RGB cycling button on the OneXGPU)
The xconnect app should pop up when you boot into windows and tuck away in the bottom right icon tray. In device manager under display adapters, 780m should be there with no yellow triangle warning icons and the OneXGPU driver. They should both be the same matching driver dates. The AMD app should open if you search AMD in the windows search bar. Under the settings menu in the AMD app, it’ll list the OneXGPU card as GPU1 and the 780m as APU1. In game you’ll want to double check in the graphics settings that it picked the eGPU card (most games will auto select the right one).
For the Legion go side bar menu settings. Use balance for the TPD (=17W), and scroll down to the bottom to switch the OS performance to efficiency. In the bios, set the VRAM to auto.
If you’re using the OneXGPU provide Onexplayer Thunderbolt 4 cable, upgrade it. That cable is no good…. This is a good one and backwards compatible with TB4 a.co/d/btC07S4 the Razer Thunderbolt 4 is the other cable I use but it’s more expensive.
Hopefully something here in this long note helps. 😊👍
Thank you so much! So to start, the RGB must have been off - I turned it on and staying lit now.
I see both drivers and current driver dates in device manager.
I can tell the One X is working by game performance (doing exactly what I had hoped!) I was just wondering how to be sure if I was in doubt. I go between handheld and docked about 50/50 of the time. Will it automatically default to OneX when plugged back in? Can I use the same OneX cable for everyday charging when not in use as well?
My AMD software looks different than yours- even though I uninstalled and installed the one in your video. Maybe it has been updated since your video? I do see GPU1 and GPU2 in the performance overlay menu, but having a hard time seeing my two drivers on the main page.
Lastly, do you push 1440 res with OneX or still best to do 1200?
I also have a little bit of the stuttering and I’m wondering if I need to uninstall the windows update mentioned. I don’t see it in your description though.
It will automatically default back the OneXGPU when you’re connect. You can use that cable for charger and video usb c, etc. It just has a tendency to disconnect, get super hot and have inconsistent performance. 😊
The AMD app will look different. They updated it about 2 months after I made that video. I have a current one with the Rog Ally X and OneXGPU 2, same install process but showing the current app and those two devices along with adding some specifics to the Ally.

Depending on the game, I’ll usually try for 1440p low first to check the fps then decide if I go up in quality or down in resolution 1200p.
I pulled that one from the description because it’s from back in March for that update so it’s fixed now. If your side bar settings and vram match on the Legion go from my detailed comment and you’re still having stuttering, you can check out this video, install the hwinfo64 app to check if you’re getting WHEA errors, then correct it with the guide. 😊

This is a great guide. I do have a question. Today my onexgpu started to flash it's led s and no longer would connect to my legion go. Is there a way to hard reset the onexgpu?
Thank you! There’s no hard reset that I’m aware of aside from unplugging it. I have a few questions to help narrow down the potential issue:
1. Is the blue light on the power brick staying solid?
2. Did you try the bottom usb port on the Legion go? If so, did the behaviour of the ONEXGPU and the rgb lights change?
3. Which thunderbolt 4 cable are you using? Onex that came with it or another one?
@@GamingRepairs The blue light was staying on but now when i plug it into the Legion Go it turns off. No LED's are turning on at any time. I am using the cable it came with and i have tried both usb's.
@@Yeden_of_the_Shore If the little blue light on the big power brick is turning off then it’s a faulty power supply. I’m assuming that’s the blue light that is turning off now (and not the power button blue light). If the power brick blue light turns off then no power is going to the device. If you’ve tried different power outlets and still no blue light on the brick then it’s definitely the power supply.
I’ll reply back with an invite to the onexplayer official discord and the 7600m XT channel is for the onexgpu. The Admins can help expedite your customer service ticket if your power supply is faulty.
@@GamingRepairs Yes its the blue light on the OnexGPU that is failing. The one on the brick stays blue consistently
@@Yeden_of_the_Shore Okay if the blue brick is on then your power supply is good. The Onexgpu branded cable might be the problem then. Have you tried a different thunderbolt 4 cable?
Less expensive:
a.co/d/7pqb00N
Best stable and always consistent performance:
a.co/d/2dh8R4j
Can i get a link to that thunderbolt cable you are using there? I need a dependable cable that works with no issues. Also, that charging cable looks slick with the digital charge indicator. Where did you pick that one up?
You bet! I have both cables in the description of this video below but the Razer one is the best overall super consistent, no disconnection and both the 0.8M and the 2M are perfect. It’s an active thunderbolt 4 cable whereas the LED one is a passive, still works good, sometimes it’s disconnects but seeing the wattage coming through can be really helpful for troubleshooting and testing.

Thanks Nelly Amazing video. I noticed that the legion space built in overlay fps counter does not work any more after the driver updates. Do you think there will be a work around for this in the future when Lenovo gets around to fixing the LeGo?
You’re welcome! Hopefully there will be. If AMD fixes the app that the Legion uses so that it can co-exist with the 7600m XT driver, then we could keep the AMD Radeon Graphics and that app so that the overlay would work for the Legion Go driver. It still wouldn’t work for the 7600m XT driver though unless Lenovo made it so that it would recognize other GPU’s. I’m thankful that there’s at least a workaround lol. 😊

Appreciate this very much! Just a q , i tried to press legion button then its saying it'll need to install . Will it undo and driver installation ?
There’s a new legion space install that needs to be applied. Go ahead and do that then check the device manager after reboot to see if the driver was flipped. You can rollback the driver if it does flip or side load to 780m again. 😊
God sent. Thank you once again ❤

Although I built my egpu myself with a RX 6750 XT, this tuto definitely got handy !
I got a couple lf questions however, if you could help:
- is the combinaison (LLG graphics & Egpu) you're showing the optimal one with my RX ?
- it now works but I encountered some audio stuttering. Do you know how to fix this?
- is AMD settings the new AMD adrenaline installed on the device ? Is there a perk trying to reverse to the original app ?
- anytime a driver is updated, do I have to do this ?
Again thanks so much for your tuto !!
You’re welcome! 😊
Yes, you’ll want to side load the 7840u 780m driver with your RX 6750 XT driver for the best performance. Using the LLG official driver will cause issues.
The Audio issues are typically triggers with the Spatial Audio option being turned on. Trying turning that off first to see if it fixes the issue. Also, make sure your system bios is also up to date. Hi. Thank you so much for the tutorial. It's really odd that this has to be the process to get this egpu working . I have a problem with tracking frames by and settings. Basically nothing I do changes the N/A instead of a number of frames
You’re welcome! 😊 It is odd but it’s AMD’s own compatibility issues with the AMD Radeon Graphics in the Z1 extreme chips and the AMD eGPUs because they won’t work properly together on Adrenaline. This is why we need to change the driver on the Legion and also change adrenaline to the AMD settings app so peace can be made between the two devices. Once you change the Legion Go driver to 780m, the Legion fps overlay will stop working. You’ll need to use the Steam in-game FPS counter, the AMD settings app overlay, or another program like MSI afterburner to capture the fps.

Hi I am thinking of buying onexgpu for my legion go and I already watched your video but I have one question. Does messing with the drivers as in your video give worse performance when in handheld mode? Can I still have the same performance while not connected to the egpu?
Hi! It allows you to get updated drivers as they come out from amd versus waiting for drivers from Lenovo (which took months before they finally just released a new one). The only thing you would run into is portrait display flipping on some things because the legion go display is a native portrait and not landscape. Otherwise everything runs great in both situations.
You deserve my subscription. Tnx for this... more vids tutorial plss. Thanks 😊
Thank you for the sub! I appreciate it! Which device are you using? The Rog Ally X or Legion Go?
Got a question and thanks a million for being a guide through the darkness. Do the One X GPU have to be connected to the internet to operate and if so, where is the menu for it?
You’re welcome! 😊 No, you don’t need to be connected to the internet. Only to get the driver downloaded for install. When I’m docked I always hard LAN connect the internet through it so that I’m getting the fastest and most stable connection. But, you don’t need to be connected to use it.
Hi @Nelly, I watched a couple of your videos today and I think your content is absolutely great!
I just bought the onexplayer egpu and haven't had luck with the oculink cable i bought from amazon. I bought 2 more just waiting for them to come in I saw you mentioned in another video that the issue maybe the cable. The egpu works with usb4 so I am using it like this for the mean time with the onexplayer m1. These two units side by side virtically look like a peice of cyberpunk art on your desk if you have good cable management. I am using my legion go to steam games from this setup and realy like that experience because it extends the legion go's battery life and I get much better performance while remaining untethered. My question is related to a 4tb drive (Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD) that I bought and installed in the egpu but its not being detected. Do you have a video explaining how to set that up properly? if not, any guidence or steps you can throw my way would be appreciated. Thanks again for the content!
Thank you so much! 😊💕
That’s such a slick and cool setup side by side. 👌
For the NVMe drive to show up, you have to have the Thunderbolt 4 cable connected (the data won’t transmit through oculink). When you’re connected search in the windows search bar for “create and format disk partitions” once this program is opened it should auto-trigger the initial format if your haven’t already formatted the drive to an NTFS format. If it is already formatted, the issue is that a drive letter needs to be assigned to your Samsung NVMe. Click on that drive and assign a letter that isn’t already taken on your device. Once you do this, the drive should be visible and you can close the window. Let me know if it works or if you need more guidance (I’m going off memory right now haha).
I’m assuming you caught this video for the oculink connection fix:

Love the video! Everything went great but I noticed a super low internet wifi download speed when docked with my OneXGPU. Undocked, my Legion Go is getting about 450Mbs, but with the TB4 cable plugged in, it drops to like 10-15!
The only network adapter that is "added" to the list when docked is the RealTek USB Gbe Family Controller. I tried disabling this hoping it would use the RZ616 wii 6E, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions on how to force the use of the Legion Go 6E wifi? Thanks!

Hmmm that’s a new one lol. Have you tried connecting your OneXGPU via the LAN port for internet to see what speed that yields?
You might want to try installing the chipset “Auto-Detect and Install Driver Updates for AMD Radeon™ Series Graphics and Ryzen™ Chipsets”. If it breaks anything you can run through the install process again to correct it.
@@GamingRepairs Thx for the response. I'll try that auto detect and get back to you. I have no access to a LAN at the moment

It should help fix things for you. I also have a lot more information in the description on things to try to help with performance. If you’re still having any issues, feel free to ask and I’ll troubleshoot with you. 😊
I believe I'm getting the ONEXGPU for Christmas, I have watched your video a few times now. There shouldn't be any problem with me downloading the 7840 to my GO ahead of time, should there? I would like to have that part of the process done and make sure everything works before I setup the eGPU. Thank you!
Awesome! You’ll still have to do the same process order again even if you change the driver ahead of time. When you change the driver to the 780m then install the OneXGPU driver, it breaks the 780m driver and you have to install it again along with the ccc2 app. The order of install matters and updating will be the same process but it’ll be quicker because you’ll be experienced in what to do haha. When you get it, make sure to set your power to balanced on the Legion go, vram to auto, and OS performance to efficiency. Let me know what you think once you get it going. 😊👍

Hi Nelly great work!! But I'm stuck. The xconnect icon does not appear after installing the Onexgpu drivers. But I don't understand where to find the installation of the software only ccc2 alone without drivers. I've looked in the C:/AMD directory I've looked on the web...I don't know what to look for? Where to get ccc2 to make AMD icon appear after Onexgpu installation but still before Legiongo installation?
Below you have replied to someone else:
"If you can’t see any AMD applications in a search or an icon in the bottom right tray, go back into the AMD folder with the ccc2 _app file and run the install again. Then, restart and it should be back. "
I tried once again to install the stervons with the ‘Driver Only’ option but the icon still doesn't appear and there is no AMD app in the system. Maybe I should use the Full Install option?
Or maybe the problem is that I am using the latest AMD driver from 2 days ago, i.e. from 18 October 2024 - both for onexgpu and legion go.
Hey! The CCC2 file location is at the 23:44 min mark of the video. It’s in the C drive, AMD, AMD software installer, Packages, Drivers, Display, WT6A_INF, Last Folder with letters and numbers, CCC2_Install application.
Try that and let me know if you’re good or if it’s still not working. I’m using the latest driver from October 18th and it’s working great. We can fix this together. 😊
You are a lifesaver helping to get these drivers updated and working. Just can’t seem to get the AMD app back on my device to see what you did at the end of the video.
Any advise?
😊🫶 Yes, I think the ccc2 AMD app is called something different now (I can’t remember exactly what it is off the top of my head). If you can’t see any AMD applications in a search or an icon in the bottom right tray, go back into the AMD folder with the ccc2 _app file and run the install again. Then, restart and it should be back.
If you run into any issues, just ask and I’ll help you troubleshoot a fix. 👍
