I am about to visit Dhaka for the first time next week. This was a delight and very helpful for ideas on places I should visit for good food. My stomach’s already growling with the thought of the great food that awaits me.
Writing this on the last day of my ten-day Bangladesh trip. Loved the food even more than I had expected to. Loved the places I visited as well. I wish more people outside Bangladesh knew how much the country has to offer!

In fact the Bangla spoken in old Dhaka has tremendous influence in terms of expressions, words and language fr Persian, Urdu and other cultures that had been dominant over the centuries. Yet the base of Bengali ( Bangla) is there...I am sure u will have a unique experience,,,, don't forget to try Dhaka;s famous breakfast @ Star Kabab Hotel ....also try Nirob Hotel, Deshbondhu Sweetmeat and Chowrangi restaurant,,,Among the heritage places, u can't miss are lunch at 'Beauty Boarding' and 'Beauty Lachhi' ( the local pronunciation fr Lassi)...enjoy sab! 😃✌...fr Delhi...

Actually if you think the yellowish color of the lassi came from food color than your wrong
In bangladesh we don't use white yogurt like india we use a bangladeshi type of yogurt called misti doi and the color of this doi is
Light yellow to brown
And that's why our lassi is different in terms of flavor and color
Bro, we have 4 sweet shops in Dhaka city and I can guarantee you that that yellow colour in lassi is food colour or worse, industrial colour.

Woh lassi Mishti doi( mithi dahi) se Banti hai.... Jo ki thodi reddish colour ki hoti hai due to the caramalization of the milk. Kolkata ki famous Mishti doi ki tarha......

Kachhi Biryani is extremely famous in Bangladesh. Ideally it is made of short grain rice called " Chini Gura". Mustard oil instead of veg oil/ Ghee ,
Raw meat mixed with all the spices, covered by 70% Cooked rice put together in Dum...

The foods are very similar between Old Delhi and Old Dhaka, because both cities were capitals in the Mughal era. Thank you for providing such raw content.
Bhai the crunch of the Rhythm Guitar felt great. The Baul composition sounded good. Fishes were fresh n Cheap...... Suggest Azeem Bhai to open a Udham Fish branch over there. Things would've been different had there been no partition at all. Food is very similiar to our Bihari n Bengali cuisine....

Tanka se taka ho gya.
Rupa ( chaandi) ki bani coin hoti thi tanka.
Even in Indian currency, it is clearly mentioned as Taka in Bangla, Toka in Assamese and Tonka in Odia. ❤
We Indian Bengalis always say Taka in Bangla and Rupiya in Hindi. It's just the way our minds work hahah😂
