Actually the original Hyderabadi way of eating biryani is without any thing. We usually start with just the biryani and we also have a saying in urdu that " agar biryani acchi bani ho toh usay dhakkay ki zarurat nahi "it means if the biryani is good then it doesn't needs any mirchi ka salan or raita. But both the condiments are a delight to have with biryani. Initially its always the first niwala of biryani just by itself.
I don't come to this channel to watch the food, I mean yeah...the food is great. But I actually come here to watch Kunal having food! That's really the delight :)

After a long gap saw your video. I have visited Hyderabad from Mumbai in May 2019, and visited that Bawarchhi outlet and enjoy Biriani. Biriani was great and only ₹250 in price and quantity is as much that quite impossible for one to finish. I eat Chicken Biriani with a half portion whole chicken was given.
Amazing, i recently went to Hyderabad for just 3 days. I loved the city, people, roads, foods, and language😊. Absolutely amazing experience. Diversity makes it awesome. ❤

Alpha Hotel was crowded & very very dirty 🤮since 2004 and the quantity far less than Bawarchi. It was recently closed by GHMC over hygiene issues. I used to eat at another iconic place Garden Restaurant Opp.Clock Tower which was less crowded and its Biryani with Chicken 65 on top was special.😘

Also, I am surprised that you didn't take any Alpha Bakerie's confectionaries? And nothing comes even close to the Mutton Biryani served in Shalimar Restaurant in Mohammed Ali Road in Mumbai. ..... I have tried most of the biriyanis south of the Vindhyas (Mumbai, Hyderbadi, Dindigul, Thalapakkattu, Kozhikode, Thalassery et al, except Donne Biriyani), and the biryanis in Mumbai take a big lead over the others in that order. Dorabjees in Pune also make excellent biriyani. Not a Mumbaikar here though 😊

The owner of the Bawarchi restaurant is not well informed about what actually Hyderabadi biriyani is. For all of you who are watching here are 3 main things that make it unique 1. Using different aromatic leaves while marinating the meat, 2. The meat is cooked in one pot and is not transferred at all. All the rice sits at the top of the half-cooked meat; thus, you won't see any layering in this. 3. The dish has a very robust flavor profile unlike the smooth oily taste of the biriyanis from other part of the country. This is because of the extensive use of cinnamon and cardamom in the masala.
