Games like this is hard on yt, you don't instinctively realize that for everything he miss at least one thing he finds is something you yourself would miss. That makes it hard to watch sometimes.
the game was in development long before loop hero released, it was just coincidence that the art style and name was similar. the name was great, you do odysseys and loop
I was going to mention that it had come out before loop hero. I was actually disappointed when they had to change there name to appease the newer 'loop' games larger developer. They both came from the same game jam.
This game benefits a lot from clearing the fog of war first, then decide where to grind. Stuck in Time is an exploration game with idle elements, as opposed to an idle game with exploration elements. That said, as a paid game I think the dev should have included more speed up options for quality of life. Thank you for the video.
Stuck in Time is a PUZZLE game disguised as an incremental game. Go check out the speedruns of this game. It really has a niche and it does it well . . . too well at times.
@WhatWillYouFind Any idea where to find the speedruns at? Googling, searching on youtube, and checking a couple speedrun websites didnt bring up anything. I would be interested in seeing one or two.
Sad to see you didn't vibe with this game, but glad you gave it a decent try. I personally like the familiarity mechanic as it let's me plan my next loop or optimize the current loop without feeling like I am losing progress.
the game benefits with lot of repetetion on single tile, so you should explore more and decide where the main highway will be, then run that road as much as possible in single loop to make it easier to traverse Its better to step few tiles to the side to go on the main highway even if its not effective at the beggining
One thing which would make this game better I feel is making the parts you've become proficient with go exponentially faster. If you don't change up parts of the path you're taking, it just makes sense that you wouldn't care about watching it again and again.
Your complaints about the loop tax are mostly unfounded. Your strategies and routing are largely really bad and you are brute forcing the game so badly that you have to use a cheat engine and grind to progress. I played this game very active and it was about an 8 hour experience of mostly programmatic problem solving gameplay. Near the end there was a big grind and I set up a training loop and let the game run overnight then my character was op and got familiar with every important tile I the game.
@Paulvanpraag hey paul, on level 13 should we inform wander about the first milestone? (specifically the raid event) (it can make the game really hard if someone doesn't know how to avoid the "random" event)
Technically I think your first move, rather than going right then up should've been up then right (or left) as that would take advantage of the familiarity you're building with that tile between the two fireflies. With that said, I doubt it makes a huge difference.
Not having auto loop on to grind is killing me… your complaints are just not understanding the repetition and optimization over time. Edit: 30:40 there ya gooooo! Edit: 34:10 and he turned it off…
I agree with the skill tree. You could have it every similar tile type gets a usage boost. So, like in the starter area, dirt paths got to 10 usage level, and then every other dirt path tile in the whole game would get a 10% boost to usage leveling this percentage being tied to the highest usage level. I feel this would expedite the leveling processes without affecting the core mechanic of the game.
Yeah also would love if certain things would unlock permanantly if you reach a certain point or achived certain things like the fence or the key and door could be permantly open so you can save yourself a few steps in your loop etc.
@@grams18 in late game with some upgrades you break the fence with a finger flick and yes game has permanent unlocks i.e. you need find way to go through guard only once
@@deosisx Yeah I´m far more in now but still hard to progress to a certain degree. XD Need some exessive grind and it´s ridiculous with the little story bits from the other NPCs with exessive talking to them. lol. Have to get past the bigger beast to the west and don´t know what´s about the guard in the east cuz he just blocking the path and can´t do anything there at the moment. @@deosisx Might come later for now all it says he´s just blocking the way and can´t interact with him. Must grind for the bigger beast in the west or the NPCs. Think mana isn´t the problem but it need more armor and health to beat them. Maybe even more attackpower. ^^
Very bad game to record. As a viewer you see so many optimizations you could make xd Otherwise pretty fun. EDIT: Waiting for the 2nd part you will inevitably upload tomorrow
I seem to remember you saying you like games such as Slay the Spire. If that’s the case, I recently discovered a game I think you should check out, not necessarily for a video but for your own time. It’s called Astrea Six sided Oracles.
This game has the same issue as loop hero... The speed is ridiculously slow and painful. I used cheat engine in loop hero even when I turned the game to 8x in game speed as it was slow af... :/
I hate grinding and idle games. I just want to progress through a game with a lot of content and do so at my own pace instead of hitting walls just there to pad the game length or reaching the end of the game within minutes of starting.
I put most of my videos up for members before they go public, and since I record in large-ish batches I usually have 3-6 videos to upload at a time. Most will go public within a few days, but the short ones probably won't.
@wanderbots I'm sorry i can't pay for membership, you do deserve it. I'm dealing with my mother's loss and took my hurt out in comments, and for that I apologize. You are a treasured moment of distraction in this world. ✌️
Obligatory “why isn’t he chucking in 10 rat corpses” :P love all the incremental game content recently, gives me games to try while I’m working!

Ah, accidentally deleting a step or action you didn't mean to. Once you get further into the game, you'll truly curse those moments.
I remember playing this game, was amazed at the size of this game. Was fun. Wish they would make another one.
Honestly best 'idle' game I think I've ever played.
The timing is insane. I literally just got this game yesterday

Did loop odyssey name change?
God I should try and finish this game, it’s a hard one to remember everything that is needed tho
this background music is awesome. anyone know if its from a specific album? or just any of the individual songs
This game is so cozy that i didn't realize the music suddenly started SLAPPIN! around 41:20
Beat this one back when it was called loop oddisey, what a great game
Very interesting title, Wander.
The whole familiarity thing is a cool story mechanic and makes sense lore wise... it just doesn't seem fun.
