It pretty much ticked all the boxes I would want as a DD, it was very efficient and it's a nice looking car. Yes. we have driven the car 13,300km...................on just over three tanks of gas. In summer conditions, I can reach 100km in EV Mode.
42 MPG is the average that I typically get in my RAV4 hybrid XSE. So yes, you are definitely driving the Prius incorrectly. You do not always have to floor the gas, you know. It is not an on-off switch.
Seems like this gen prius is weird. Plenty of reviewers and drivers in forums get low 40s in mpgs, but also plenty reporting great numbers. Feels like something is tuned incorrectly here cause the camry hasn't been this inconsistent.
Yeah hes not driving it correctly, hybrids like this you need to drive different from a normal ICE car. In our 2025 civic sport touring hybrid I make it a little game to go as long as possible before the engine kicks in, that usually means accelerating slower than I otherwise would normally.
That interior weirdly reminds me of the 8th gen civic. Like you said, very cockpit oriented, very small steering wheel, space ship and futuristic looking; very long dashboard as well. It also had a digital speedometer which almost no cars had at the time, other than the Prius lol
Well done substitute TheTopher. I like how you mentioned the A pillar visibility. I had an RDX that I loved and a minor complaint I had was that the A pillars were pretty big and obscured visibility. Much better looking with double the horsepower as compared to my 2013 Prius three that’s still kicking. The real question is, are these just as bulletproof ?
When I drove my Prius in the past, I used to put the instrument cluster in the gap right under the top of the steering wheel. I wonder if I could still do that.
Guys a real deal here, consider the 17-inch wheels if you want better driving experience. Or at least make 2 test drives like I did and firured out that 19 inch wheels are freaking terrible in every way.
With the new civic hybrid sport touring having more features, luxuries, cargo space and sportiness with just a LITTLE less fuel economy and being a bit cheaper, I feel like its a no brainer to get the civic. The civic's top trim being comparable to the xle of the prius price wise is wild
The trouble with this car is that it’s not much cheaper, not much faster and not much more economical than the Rav4 hybrid and I would say that it’s less all of those than the CorollaCross hybrid, and both of the CUVs are MUCH more practical to own.
The Prius Prime is also cheaper as it gets rebates in some areas. Both the Civic hybrid and Civic hatchback hybrid are also cheaper and offer a much quieter drive.
