Fun fact: The main character is based on my Sensei and RIZIN FF Lightweight champion Roberto Satoshi. We train in Shizuoka. Netflix came to film here. Really cool.
It’s biggest problem is it feels like 2 seasons in one it rushes to get to the fights but also rushes those but the themes are really for martial arts anime
It's interesting that they went with Fujimaki as the main. I guess that made it so there was a clear story, but we missed out on meeting so many cool characters that you only heard the names of like the Great Tatsumi.
the garouden movie is based on the novels after tanba is beaten by kajiwara he goes to train with a sambo master and fights a lai kenpo yakuza enforcer the novel is called blue wolf fist and acts as an explanation to where and what tanba was doing after his defeat from kajiwara.
"More human" Tanba shakes a building just at the start of the manga XD Garouden characters are linda in the same tier as Kengan and Maximum Tournament in Baki
@@itsDjjayyArt I’ve wanted him in Tekken forever he just fits the style so well but the thought of him losing to anyone besides maybe Akuma doesn’t sit right😂
The author might have wanted different designs to the baki series so it can stand on its own feet as a series instead of being carried by a baki connection.
@kevinbatten87 I also think that is because of her father telling her she should get married to the strongest man even though I disagree with what she was told and she should go with him because that is what her heart wants, sir.
My man Mr Weeb. I am GLAD that the channel came back. All the best for the future. Your vids i always keep in the notification for any update. I have a request for you. If possible, get the PS2 emulator named Aethersx2 on your device (preferably Android) and try the two Garouden Breakblow games , or just try the sequel Garouden Breakblow - Fist Or Twist. It was those two games which introduced me to Garouden, and hence deepened by love for martial arts/fighting fiction even more. It's a fighting fan/Weeb like you and me's closest dream game come true. The game is easy to pickup, has enough fan service for the diehards of the manga and also has a secret character from Baki. THE character from Baki , himself 😂. It doesn't have a learning or execution curve like Tekken, Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat and still imo it beats all of those when it comes to how grounded and arcade-style the thing is, plus how source material faithful they went about the roster, character models and attitudes. From one fan to another, I'd love for you to at least be aware of what I know. The Garouden Breakblow Duology is what any Japanese developer should be inspired by and need-to-heed if the thought of developing a Baki, Kengan, Tough or any other fighting manga game adaptation is planned off. 👍🏽
as a muay thai/kickboxing practioner and a judoka, any martial arts anime makes me salivate. No matter how outrageous the lore or stupid the anime may possibly be, Im all in lmao.
I’ve never read the manga but I quit liked the anime, I like the fact that the fight scene are more realistic than Kengan or Baki. Some people get their kicks in from bombastic show where the protag overwhelms the opponent, but this is where I get my kicks, the real it is the more brutal it gets and that gets me.
The problem is that the anime focuses on a side character because tanba is the mc in the novels and manga not juzo also some fights were skipped and I just wasn't a fan of reliance of rotoscoping also the main story of "I can't release my inner alpha" was lame after a bit lol plus a lot of the characters felt shallow too
I think juzo in the anime was a pretty chill and fun character compared to juzo in the manga he was a menace, this man literally stalked himekawa every time. He was mean and a walking black Air Force member
Not sure what yall were watching because that anime wasn't good in my opinion. When you compare it to Baki, and Kengan, it doesn't come close. Fights were below average, and animation was meh.
I'll read the manga before I decide on the story, but the animation was shit. Whenever two characters would talk. It would cut to a still frame of somebody reacting to them, and cheap shit like that was throughout the anime. The only good parts of animation were the bits that looked rotoscoped in the fight scenes. Otherwise it was two frame mouth flaps and still frames the consistently
I hope that the main character gets the love of his life back because I know that she still only loves him and is in love with him, and I hope they get married, sir.
Okay I guess I was incorrect however they didn’t originally connect Yet I wonder if Tekken, Street Fighter, Kengan and Baki/Garouden are part of the same universe.
The battles were commendable, but without substance and a compelling narrative, everything else becomes inconsequential if there is no proper buildup. Pretty much it was boring
It was ok. The fight scenes were great, nothing too crazy. I hated the ending though, all that build up for MC to get beaten by a femboy. Dude can’t catch a break. Hopefully his story gets better (haven’t read the manga or novels so…)
Meh, not that it’s bad, the manga was moving in all the right ways, I’d hail it over Baki if it didn’t get so sexual, I quit halfway in 🤮 Mangadex should categorize it as erotica in my opinion Edit: Okay, sitting down an watching the Anime convinced me to start reading again. The Ending of the Anime had me in tears, and while the fights looked weird, having all the context made them feel better!
If this is anything like Itagaki's Garouden, it may just be unwatchable for me. It's a series I really wanted to like, but it was quite the letdown for me. If the plot was razor-thin in Baki, it's basically non-existent in Garouden, with fights occurring for no particular reason even in the pants-on-head retarded context of the world it takes place in. Also, not for nothing, but seeing stand-ins for true great fighters like Igor Vovchanchyn get made to look like absolute chumps to wank the same two guys so Itagaki can have his Mas Oyama and Antonio Inoki stand-ins always look invincible is really annoying. Guys get built up just to get jobbed out like chumps, and always to make the most uninteresting, predictable ones look strong. My biggest problem with Itagaki's approach to writing fights is how almost all of them are full of no-selling and anticlimactic, one-sided finishes. Competitive fights are fun, not a ceaseless parade of "guy stands there looking smug and takes out his opponent in one move" fights.
As far as I know, Itagaki only drew Garouden, but I could be wrong here. The way you say it, it's clear that you didn't like Garouden (manga) and probably like Baki even less. Ngl I'm a little surprised, because I rarely hear people talk bad about Garouden, unlike Baki.
@@Breno0523 Like I said, I wanted to like it, and there are some fights I do enjoy (the Tanba vs. Tsutsui fight was probably the series' peak) ,but most of the more interesting characters get jobbed out in embarrassing fashion to the absolute most bland, unlikable characters because the karate vs. pro wrestling angle has to be pushed no matter what, and we need to have the designated golden boys on both sides look strong no matter what, at the expense of everyone else. I just can't get onboard with it.

I'm actually happy about this. Itagaki is one of my art influences, but seeing a more balanced take on the anatomy was a breath of fresh air.
