    It amazes me how well engineered the Ban-dai kits are. I have only built a couple models from them, and until I had built my first one, didn't believe that a snap together model would be any good.
    Congrats on the 5K subscribers, I enjoy your vids.

      Yeah they're so much fun to build! And thank you!

    Fantastic editing by the way. Too many videos of this kind make us sit through unnecessary footage. You have managed your content very well.

    It may be tough, but could you maybe try to modify the kit and make a first order flamethrower? That would be amazing!
    Keep up the great work!

    congrats on 5k!!! And you should do a finn Stormtrooper with the bloody helmet!

      Cheers mate! Haha yes that bloody helmet!

      Benny Yuen also, when he's back on the Star Destroyer his armour is quite dirty as well so the model could be given some weathering to give the bloody hand print

    Trivia question for you. What about filing the minor cracks between the sections of white armor that lock together? What would be the best way to fill those and hide the minor spaces?

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure. You could fill and sand away the gap. You might have to reapply the shiny white finish to get it looking consistent though.

    Really enjoy the videos. Thank you for sharing your work. I do armour usually, but I like the idea of something new, and Star Wars has always been a passion of mine. Maybe I'll do one of these for a switch up.

    This was great! The camera work, editing, etc. really made this a delight to watch the whole way through. Question : Could we see a future video for Bandai's AT-AT 1/144 model kit?

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, really appreciate it! Yes, an AT-AT is definitely possible. :)

    Congrats on 5k subs... I would've drilled the hand out instead of gluing the baton on... but each to their own I say... I definitely love the fact that when putting these Bandai kits together... there's a nice solid click when the parts go together... keep up the great builds mate...👍👍👍

    A nice video again. True to my word (see my comment on the Darth Vader build video) I went and bought him, and added this one to the cart. I'm going to make him into Finn, I think, with the bloody helmet. Cheers, Sam, and two thumbs up!

  • @ZeonRemnants
    @ZeonRemnants 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    for the issue with the baton, i used a old gundam modelers trick of using a pin vice to drill a hole in the fist. then u can insert the baton with out cutting off the handle

    I have the same kit. I bought it together with phasma and boba fett, but's the only one I put together because as you said it only need the decals and basically no paint at all!

    I honestly feel like Disney is going a little over board with the stormtrooper riot weapons by now. First in episode 7, they have a electro baton that Tr8r uses and now, in episode 8, they're introducing some staff-claw hybrid weapon.

    Thanks for model kit vids. I love them. Have you ever used modeler putty to give your models more weight?

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers! Thanks for watching. :) No I've never felt the need to. They're mainly built for display purposes so I hardly ever handle them.

    Would have been nice to see you paint the guns, i was waiting for that part. Will any black spray paint work to make the blacks matte? Or it has to be specially for modeling? Which is hard to get in southamerica.

    Hahaha... bloopers at the end are a nice touch... yes, I would've expected you to keep the First Order Trooper nice and clean for that is how they were portrayed in the movie, all shiny like.
    Cool build, looking forward to your next.

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s a pity the hands weren’t made in white plastic enabling them to be painted black, it’s far easier to paint black onto white I find than vice versa. *2:30* I thought the decal for the air vent on mask was pointless so painted the piece chrome silver. I wish I’d flattened the black body suit like you did.

  • @shoot646
    @shoot646 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video as always! I had a question though, what brand of the white model paint did you apply to the hands? I used to use cheaper things and now I use model masters/testors and I've never seen white apply that well over a darker color! I actually want to go out and buy some

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers! It was Vallejo Model Color White - the Model Color range is specifically for brush painting and is a bit thicker than their Model Air range.

    got this one myself but I think he's a little too skinny (arms especially). The troopers in TFA look beefier than this. Going have a go at Boba at some point, when I've got the time. Going to take a good bit of painting to do him justice I think.

    • @modelchili
      @modelchili  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep I've got a Boba Fett in the works too. :)
