Heck, get a Cayman GT4, swap the gears and, for the road, you're 95% of the way there. You'd notice on track, sure, but not daily.
@@benkrapf I wouldn't even be bother to do the swap. GT4 RS is what I believe non-existent lol. A couple of my friends who have put deposit down for the GT4 RS 2 years ago just got an email saying they won't get theirs and they will be refunding their deposits. I went with a Cayman GTS 4.0 order, and hopefully to see delivery summer next year. As much as I want a "RS", I have to be honestly with myself - how often am I going to take it to a track and push that hard.

the new gt3rs is probably the greatest car built in the last 25 years. the downforce is absolutely mind boggling. it just sticks to the ground and goes.
at 225 mph the downfoce would be equal to the weight of the car............ lol. i want to see a 1500hp 911 turbo kitted out in the gt3rs aero package do some 1 mile runway pulls.
It’s so sad it will likely also be one of the last true GT RS models Porsche will ever make.

It's great to see Rory back at Top Gear Test Track. Btw, the new 992 GT3 RS is insane. Imagine what Porsche can do with 992.2.

@@donndee3587 Looking at the timeline, Porsche always tend to release the x.2 update about four or five years later. With the 992 shape launched in 2019, we might be seeing the 992.2 at least next year.

@@barfuss2007 I’ll add… or a guy who wants to bring out the best in his driving abilities. A Porsche can bring out the best in a driver and very few cars can use that as their mantra. It reminds me of back in the day of the fire breathing sport bikes. I used to ride a ninja zx-10 back in 2004. I bought it new in 2004 and it was a monster. My friends had Honda cbr liter bikes which were much easier to ride, handle, and gave you confidence. I wanted the lightest bike with the most horsepower that could handle a curve like no other. A 720S looks and “sounds” great on paper but in reality a 992S turbo in the hands of most drivers will take the 720S to school

@@Realtalk961 4 year wait won’t get you a GT3 r/s ! I could buy one tomorrow but they won’t sell me one..Only a couple of handful of people in the country will get one as not every dealer is allocated one and for very very special customers only

@Chingchong Who cares about the additional performance? Also you're wrong anyway. The 992 GT3 RS is faster around the Nordschleife than the 991 GT2 RS and is infinitely more exciting even if it were slower. I know I'm comparing across generations here but I'm comparing a 700 hp car to a 525 hp car that is still faster so I guess that can be disregarded.

What a masterpiece of engineering
Porches are so organically beautiful, you would think nature made it.
The ceramic brakes don't make you stop any faster, they just dissipate heat better. Braking distance is entirely based on tires for any car with brakes strong enough to wheel lock.
Was waiting for Rory's review of this beast for some time and I can safely say that now I feel complete..🙌😂😂

Wow. This guy explains everything about the RS with such wonderful insightfulness and clarity, especially how the (on-the-fly) suspension tuning works and not to mention the active aero. Chris Harris who? LOL
This only has 500hp because Porsche knows there is a celling for usable power, Porsche is just the best! I love Ferraris and Lamborghinis but let's be honest, if Porsche has close to a perfect mix of a great sports car those brands just add more desirability to the mix 🧐💕

actually the downforce on the Senna is 800KG rated at 250KPH, the GT3RS generates the same downforce at its top speed of 285 KPH

The only thing I wish it had… was a manual. Other than that, it’s absolutely incredible. The last car with that kind of track performance was the Dodge Viper ACR-E, which went out of production 5 years ago.

no one thought you could get 500hp out of a road legal na 4 litre 6 cylinder engine, and so after that it looked like there was no where else to go, then they change the game once again with 800kg downforce.
consistently astonishing.
They should go with a bigger and stronger engine (maybe V8 or flat 8) with 4.2 or 4.4 L and 570-580 horsepower! That would be unmatched!
