Not gonna lie, this style shift worked really well and has me hoping chugga makes these video essays a semi regular thing even after the sticker star vids are done
@@chugga I would love to see you talk about a game you’re super enthusiastic about and have played through on the channel, like the original Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy, 64, Sunshine. Speaking of Bowser being a great character. To this day, I remember that parental control commercial because of how wholesome it is--and like, it really shows how great of a dad Bowser is? He's a great villain, love his antics, he's just trying to give his kid a good upbringing.

@@grantwilliams2571 not really a review is meant to tell people how good a game is so they can buy it or not I don't Chuggaa is trying to convince people to not buy Sticker Star in the year 2022
One thing I'd like to say is that condescending helper characters don't have to be a kiss of death. Look at Twilight Princess, Midna is constantly belittling and insulting Link in the early parts of the adventure. But as the story goes on she starts to change and actually develops as a character, she goes from only caring about her world, to actually caring about Link and Zelda's as well. Your mileage may vary on how much you like the character arc, but it's still leagues better than what happens with Kersti. Kersti from what I remember accuses Mario of being the one to damage the sticker comet, and constantly reminds us of that throughout the adventure. I can handle some sass from a character, but being blamed for something that's not our fault really pushes their likeability down, and as far as I'm aware she never apologizes for this, I'm not even sure she realizes she was wrong. There's no character arc for her, she starts out as a jerk, and pretty much stays that way all the way through the game.
Midna isn't entirely defined by being condescending. Her condescending-ness comes off more playful and pokes more at things at Link's expense than the player's, and Link's reactions aren't always light either. It doesn't take long to realize, even subconsciously, that there's a character dynamic the developers are going for. Midna's personality is just one part of her character that makes her likeable, but not the core of it. It's different to have a character call you dumb for doing something smart in a game, and just... leave it at that.
I may be misremembering, but doesn't Mario try to explain who he is, only for Kersti to basically say "You can't be Mario because Mario would never be such a troublemaker!" The whole 'character doesn't believe Mario is Mario' thing is fine as a one-off obstacle in a larger game, even if it does get more and more ridiculous given the sorts of things Mario DOES, like you'd think he's at least approaching "world wide fame" level if he's not already at that point, but having your alleged partner character do it just rubs me the wrong way, especially when Mario's such a stereotypical hero that he would have helped out ANYWAY. Plus, like you said, I don't think Kersti ever admits or realizes she's wrong; as far as I know, Kersti spends the entire time trucking around with a plumber in a red hat and blue overalls, going by the name of Mario, whose trademark move is jumping on enemies, and she never once thinks "Oh maybe this guy is THE Mario, oops".
I'mma play the original version. Never played it before, completely blind aside from a few gameplay things I've seen in videos ages ago and those didn't go into depth about the game. And my first Paper Mario, I suppose. Chugga put me into the mood for it.
@@CatMutoWell, I hope it was a fun game for you, because I genuinely enjoyed the first 3 Paper Mario games, as a kid, from the original on N64, to Super Paper Mario, which has the best story out of all 3. But Thousand-Year-Door had the best characters, and gameplay out of all 3, but I don't see how you couldn't enjoy them all(EXCEPT Sticker Star, that is, because I don't see how ANYBODY could properly enjoy THAT abomination of a game, other than burning or burying it in the New Mexican desert, right next to the E.T. Atari game). But good luck to you, good sir/madam, and I hope you enjoyed the original PM: TTYD, because it's a classic that's celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and I'm glad to be able to go through it again. And also, I'm just glad to be able to play the Super Mario RPG Remake as well, because I missed out on it originally. And so far, it's REALLY amazing. And I'm amazed at how horrendous Sticker Star truly is. It's like trying to succeed at failing. They definitely succeeded there!
@@shawnfields2369 No playing the original, after all, I got the remaster/remake. I have yet to proceed far... I am in those woods, where you'll eventually get the ghost partner.
The editing for this is amazing. Normally we don't get to see this on the channel because Emile prefers to leave the focus on the game itself (which is absolutely based). Both Splatoon LPs (during weapon of the day) come closest.
I remember when I watched his SPM LP a few months ago, at the Finale he said he couldn’t wait for Sticker Star. Knowing how much he hates Sticker Star, it was surprising to hear him say that. Also that LP was 10 years ago. Wow.
One thing I really appreciate about this is the fact that Chugga not only respects the creators but also stops to appreciate the small redeeming qualities instead of just saying “every pixel of this game sucks!”
Oh, as an additional note, the reason it's sometimes called the Sticker Comet rather than Star is because... it's a bad translation. The word for "star", in Japanese (which is "hoshi", by the way), tends to refer to any celestial body that reflects or emits light... which includes comets. And planets, apparently, if we're going by what FFXIV says (it refers to the planet as a "star" in English).
Reminds me of the idea of the “three lights”: the sun, the moon, and the stars. Never mind that the sun is a star and the moon doesn’t produce its own light.
As much as I appreciate your dedication to keeping your content mostly positive on this channel and making all of your let's plays from a place of genuine passion, to see that same genuine passion manifest in you roasting the hell out of this game is marvelous to behold.
Being in the chat when this premiered was REALLY surreal. Think of it. Seeing your favorite Nintendo TH-camr of over 10 or so years, doing a premiere of a video essay of his worst game of all time. Makes you wonder where the [funky fresh beats] the time had gone. It was nice to be in chat seeing everyone spam "PUSH" and "BOWSERS ARMS!!!" when those moments came up, as well as seeing him get flooded with superchats. Can't wait for the other parts of this amazing side-series
It's cool to see you use a different format like this. Since you have such a charismatic and unique presentation style, you definitely could become a big "essay" youtuber if you wanted to.
Never has a "Part 1" been so threatening yet cathartic to see. EDIT: 0:31 can we talk about how Chuggaa straight up admits he made this based on spite? Usually his videos are a love letter to what he's covering. So to see this shows just how much Sticker Star was a disappointment to him.
All Red Toads, no real story and they STILL use the Sticker Star system to some extent. Chugga pays for a LOT of Nintendo games; Nintendo should at least try to not make a bad Paper Mario....or at least allow unique characters again
If Paper Mario gets its stuff together it will be in four years from now at best based on Paper Mario game schedules and given they really are beholden to specific stuff I doubt any good Paper Mario will come back.
I've been waiting SO long for the fabled Chuggaaconroy Sticker Star Essay. To finally see this video in my feed was probably the most satisfying thing to happen to me in years!
I’m glad someone who cares about the series is explaining what’s going on with this game, why it’s failure hurts, and why it fails. It’s something I’ve never quite understood, and this has helped! Also, the context for the survey that changed the direction of the series really helps.
paper mario bowser is my favorite iteration of the character, i love how much he acts like a man child in those games, particularly thousand year door. i never noticed he was so silent in sticker star, though; how sad!
It's cool to see a different type of video from you: a review of a game you actually dislike this time, but as well-structured and -researched as your LPs! Great idea!
This won't happen, but my pipe dream is that _if_ they ever finally decide take Paper Mario back to its roots, the first Paper Mario game to do so casually declares the "Sticker Star" era to have just been a series of stories in-universe about Mario.
Regarding bowser, the fact that he went from saying "its hag vs. hag! Awesome!" To literally nothing in this game, it's sad how shafted he got in sticker star.
"My favorite thing about Paper Mario: Sticker Star is the purple Toad in Decalburg. They say the line 'stay perky' everytime that you are done dealing with them, and the line 'stay perky' actually makes them a pretty charming character among the rest of the cast. I, kind of wish that you interact with this character more often, I kind of wish that, y'know, you could see a bit more of them, because I don't always need to go to Decalburg to buy stickers 'cause you can find them for free in the levels, but, when you do, I really do like this character. Um, I think Sticker Star has some pretty good ideas, um, on paper, um, the idea of having varying [30 seconds!] usable(?) attacks and having different levels of those as an alternative to levelling up is a pretty interesting idea. Um, the music is pretty great, I especially love the snow world's music, that is great, um, some other songs that are really choice(?) [15 seconds!] for me are the Warm Fuzzy Plains, I really liked that level as a whole. Um, I liked solving puzzles by sticking stickers on the environment, that's a really creative use unifying basically Badges [Five seconds!], FP, and puzzle solving all into one mechanic. I think that's very intriguing and something that- [Time!] FUCK!" - Chuggaaconroy Colosseum '18
I think Yahtzee summed up the decline of the Paper Mario series the best. It was like having a cool teacher who disappeared one day and we've had to deal with a series of substitutes reading off a list of topics covered and trying desperately to re-create them in increasingly shallow ways.
You're (well, he's) saying this as if the games after Sticker Star are worse than Sticker Star, which... no, Sticker Star's the worst Paper Mario game by far.
It feels like the Paper Mario series just died and was replaced with something else. Not saying the new games are bad, but they are so different from what came before that it's as if one series ended and another began.
@@WarmLusamine : Good but still lacking. The battle system is still inferior compared to early predecessors. General consensus puts origami king above Color Splash and Sticker Star
I haven't watched chugga in almost 7 years, and i come back to this. Absolutely incredible, and charismatic as ever. Can't wait to see more of this, dude!!
When Miaymoto said to only use preexisting characters, he probably wanted to challenge the team to see if they could come with unique characters only using preexisting Mario characters.
If that were the case, he definitely should have specified species instead of specifically characters, because good lord characters is more specific than species, which at least offers some sense of creative freedom
Honestly thought this was going to be Chuggaa ripping this game a new asshole for x amount of minutes, and while it still kinda is, I like how he’s crafted his arguments and is pointing things out. I also like how he addressed the beginning, because no one person is responsible (as he mentioned), and if others like the game, then that’s cool too. He’s putting his opinion and feelings out there to move on, and it’s much more refreshing to hear them in this format than on Twitter for ex, lol. Came in expecting the video version of “Chuggaa Hates Sticker Star” tweets. Finished the video pleasantly surprised. Honestly excited to hear more, Chuggaa!
I thought I couldn’t love chuggaa more. And then he hit me with a Green Day song and then a RedLetterMedia reference with his best mr plinkett impression. Thank you for being you chuggaa.
Haha, same here! Mario & Luigi IS back, baby! Along with Super Mario RPG, AND TTYD! It's...amazing. With Super Mario RPG, it's like returning to see something you originally missed out on when it first came out. I know I did in 1992, because I wasn't even born yet...but I'd heard a lot about it, how it was a partnership between Square Enix and Nintendo to make something that used both characters, and has Mario, Peach, and Bowser teaming up with the others, Geno or Mallow. And a whole new Mario & Luigi game, even though the studio went bankrupt? This isn't a dream, is it? This is REALLY happening, later this year? This is great! And so are these videos. Let's also hope Mario Party can understand and remember what people loved about it too...
24:37 is a bigger jumpscare than any of the screams Emile has ever made I appreciate the cleared misconceptions at the start of this video, I actually haven't heard about the trivia at 1:53
Undertail is a jumpscare? I mean I suppose seeing chugga mention a non nintendo game is unusual, but he is a big rpg guy so I'd be surprised if he haddent played that game.
@@SirenSong13 "Undertail" How do people still make that one simple error, not knowing that there is, in fact, a difference between Undertale and Undertail (and you don't want to know the latter).
I've never been someone who grew up with Paper Mario, I didn't even finish TTYD and SPM and I only ever finished the first game very recently, but that's actually crazy how much Sticker Star just spits in the face of everyone who played the first three games. Wow.
Seriously. . . She's Just as Big of a B****** as Starlow; AND I HATE STARLOW; ESPECIALLY WITH HOW SHE STILL S***S ON LUIGI; EVEN AFTER HE'S PROVEN HIS WORTH IN DREAM TEAM!!
Hoooo boy, this'll be a journey for sure. And I can relate to how you feel about Sticker Star as I do for "Like a North Star" COMPLETELY. From passion, to love, content, then slowly to dissapointment and then contempt. It hurts, man.
This is the perfect finale to your paper mario lets plays, in my opinion. After someone finishes Super, they can watch this. You allude to Sticker Star throughout your playthroughs but never fully go in on it, and I think this feels like a long time coming.
Pleas continue this series. Your analysis on something so well known and intimate to you, as well as your critique of that equally close yet distant media is a delight to watch and think about.
The Sticker Comet are the floating stars (those being the pieces of said comet that split apart at the beginning of the game) you collect at the end of each level. The Sticker Star is Kersti's homeworld that is only mentioned and never visited in-game. P.S: Apologies to anyone who got confused by the wording of the pre-edited version of this comment.
Actually they’re called Comet Pieces, not Sticker Comets. The part of the video where Chuggaa even brings the inconsistency of what the Sticker Star is called straight up shows Kersti say “That’s a piece of the Sticker Comet I rode on.” Look at 10:48 if you don’t believe me, says it right there
Tbh the biggest pet peeve I have with the era of Paper Mario that Sticker Star ushered in is the fact that in the first three games, the world being made of paper was something the characters essentially weren’t privy to. In TTYD for instance, Mario could only use his paper powers because of a mystical curse, and so the paper stuff had the vibe of being this extradimensional element that existed outside the fourth wall. No one ever seemed to even notice when wacky papery things happened to the world, or at least they couldn’t exactly perceive its true nature. It took me a long time to be able to articulate this, but this was a HUGE thing that Sticker Star changed for the series going forward. Something about the laypeople of the world casually leveraging their paper-thin nature like it’s something completely mundane just never quite sat right with me, and I think Sticker Star especially used these antics as a crutch to avoid needing to establish compelling, grounded characters and settings.
Absolutely loved this so far! I knew about Bowser's utter lack of character in this game and was hoping you'd touch on it, and that call back to the parental controls commercial brings me all sorts of joy. Can't wait for the next episode of Paper Mario, as well as part 2 of this dive into Sticker Star! Fantastic work as always!
Do it chugga, rip and tear into it, give in to the anger, give into the rage. Never forget what they took from you The partners The badges Unique species The mechanics The emotional story line The charm The soul For me if I even bothered to get this game i would do that and more. But I would do it for the best girl Vivian....I'd do it for her. Show it no mercy No love No emotion Never forget that this is what started it all.....never forget
this game sucks but there is certainly charm and soul in the newer paper mario games, and a good story in origami king even if you dont like a game you have to understand a game can be bad and have plenty of soul at the same time (example: sonic 06, yiik) judging from the way youre talking im sure you havent played the newer games and are going off of reviews and nostalgia
This is why I love chugga. Middle of a let's play throws a god tier curveball, please never change. As a fan from Sunshine to now, please never change.
I find it interesting how you are doing a level by level review of this game, and pointing out the problems you encountered when they actually happened. It’s something I haven’t really seen in a review and I think it’s cool. It also shows how meticulous you are with this game, pointing out every problem/actual good parts as they appear. I also found the Mr. Plinkett references funny.
Holy shit I love the video essay format that Emile went with here. Insane to think that this truly is his first non let’s play video on the channel, his consistency is incredible
Yeesh, what a way to start. This is the only Paper Mario I've played and it was my first. I do know Mario and Luigi had Paper Jam, but in terms of the core Paper Mario experience, it feels quite upsetting that I've grown up with this as it is nostalgic at the same time.
While you keeping your channel mostly positive is a BASED act in this day and age, I actually really enjoyed this too because it's not just mindless complaining; you have LOGIC behind why you hate these things, and acknowledge that not everyone will feel the same as you. THIS is how you make "negative" content, and I'm here for it!
I never really thought about reviews being negative as “mindless complaining” but yeah, a lot of them in comparison to THIS video do seem like mindless complaining ahaha.
Bro used Green Day's Basket Case to officially start his deep dive into Sticker Star... and I LOVE THAT, plus it's symbolic of what he's doing to the game
"A condescending helper character is a kiss of death for your game" Man, imagine if there was a game that had that, but you, through certain dialogue options, could help make them into a better person over the course of the game to the point that they're no longer being useless
I'd even argue that it's also the big reason that after sticker star, because people kept asking for the "old papier mario" the team behind Bug fables just saw the desire, and... well... boy did they pull it off well
There are actually two other methods of obtaining the Poison Mushroom sticker that you neglected to mention: 1) You can buy a Poison Mushroom sticker off a Toad behind a house in Decalburg any time after clearing the first few levels of World 1. 2) You can buy a Poison Mushroom sticker at the shop in Whammino Mountain (though to be fair it’s an easy thing to miss since the level itself can just be skipped over)
Mario's story progress in a nutshell. 1.) Everyone is happy. 2.) Bowser did a thing. 3.) Mario collects the mcguffins. 4.) Mario beats Bowser. 5.) End Screen.
13:52 Ok, this part got me. The fact that you put one of the funniest clips in SpongeBob history over a sincere rundown of everything wrong with this game just frigging sent me!
Seeing you show the OP of Tales of the Abyss when you referenced "great games with slow beginnings" made me SO happy and now I really hope you'll do an LP for it in the future
Whoa it's a video essay! It's funny, everything about your LP style in hindsight translates perfectly to this format, with all the research and tight editing and planned segments. In a way this is a Let's Play: Sticker Star, Abridged!
Watch this video begin with the end of his Super Paper Mario LP where he said he was excited for Sticker Star. Also about the inconsistency between the Sticker Comet and the Sticker Star, they are two different things. The Sticker Comet comes from the Sticker Star, but I don’t blame you for thinking they’re the same thing.
9:37-10:47 : to spin a popular quote from Thousand Year Door: “What’s a Paper Mario game without an awesome portrayal of Bowser? A CRUDDY Paper Mario game, that’s what!”
Also just noticed this: at 15:19 you can tell that the presenter of Sticker Star knew that he was lying when he said it had more depth while keeping the fun of the originals!
I was listening to this and thought, "WOW! This reminds me a lot of Clementj64's review of Sonic 06 he made 10 years ago." And sure enough in the opening credits under inspirations was Clement. That made me smile a lot. I remember watching Clement's 06 review back then after not watching his videos for about a year because of school. I immediately subscribed to him after watching part 1 and was the first person I ever subbed to when I got this TH-cam channel. I can already tell that this is gonna be a fun series to watch.😊
Oh god it's been ten years. EDIT: The problem with any story told by Tanabe himself is that I don't believe him. If you look at all the different things he says across all of the interviews, he's either knowingly and maliciously lying, or just doesn't know what he's talking about. Like the interview where he talks about how a poll was made where fans of Super Paper Mario talked about what they enjoyed about that game was the flipping mechanic. And how practically no one mentioned liking the story. Or any of the interviews where he says how you can't make unique or interesting characters in the Mario universe anymore, and haven't been able to since Sticker Star - either an obvious lie or an obvious example of him not having any idea what he's talking about. Because there are plenty of games that do just that. Every Mario and Luigi game up to Dream Team added at least one new species, and generally had multiple characters that were unique versions of pre-existing species. Odyssey exists - nothing more need be said there. Mario and Rabbids exists - nothing more need be said there. Hell, even the bad Paper Mario games don't remain true to this supposed rule. There aren't many of them, but there definitely are a handful of characters that stand out as being a unique design - like the mariachi shy guy in Sticker Star; or the tree people in Origami King. Then there's the fact that Tanabe has said he and his team have complete creative control over the Paper Mario series. As a matter of fact, in that same interview he specifically mentioned that while Miyamoto checked in on the development, he made no comments about how any changes needed to or should be made. So which is it Tanabe? Do you have complete creative control, or are you hampered by these supposed guidelines? Did Miyamoto send the game back to the drawing board or not? So I don't buy any interview he makes defending the poor design choices of the more modern Paper Mario games. To me it seems extremely simple, his vision of the Paper Mario series is just this soulless garbage, and he's dedicated to bringing that vision to life.
This is perfect! It is about time you properly eviscerated this game and keeping this as a separate project from Paper Mario 64 just makes so much sense! I won't lie, I actually enjoyed Sticker Star in general but I only played it once, and I knew all the boss fights were complete garbage and I didn't even bother trying to "figure them out" after losing to World 2's boss countless times and I just looked up the solutions to all of them save for the final boss, which I swear I must have just gotten super lucky with because I don't think I actually used most of the proper Thing stickers. Anyway can't wait for the next installment!

Chugga's extensive experience in, knowledge of and passion for Nintendo and gaming is really what takes this video over the top. Before him, I never would have come to the conclusion that Sticker Star is the closest the Mario series has come to a Sonic 06 situation, including the shockingly familiar development cycle. And even that was handled with respect that people *less disappointed in the game than him* probably wouldn't give to the dev team. You already said this was you seeing if you could do this kind of content and you proved that and more in less than the 9 minutes I've watched so far. He is just going to play through the game, give his brutally honest thoughts on it, and then finally never have to talk about it again. Its been on his mind for a long time and he is finally going to put the nail in the coffin on how he really feels about this game.
I just don't understand why? Because negative videos get more clicks? Who goes to Chugga's channel for negativity? It's like one of the few remaining LP channels that just focuses on creating positive gaming content.

Agreed. He actually knows what he’s talking about, finishes his games (sorry I meant 100% completes his games), and is actually good at those games.

Wow! Ten years since that game releases. At first, I thought it was released in 2013.
Midna has an arc. A great one too. Kersti starts out worse than Midna and doesn’t improve
At least Kersti doesn't have a horrendous voice like Viridi
I may be misremembering, but doesn't Mario try to explain who he is, only for Kersti to basically say "You can't be Mario because Mario would never be such a troublemaker!"
The whole 'character doesn't believe Mario is Mario' thing is fine as a one-off obstacle in a larger game, even if it does get more and more ridiculous given the sorts of things Mario DOES, like you'd think he's at least approaching "world wide fame" level if he's not already at that point, but having your alleged partner character do it just rubs me the wrong way, especially when Mario's such a stereotypical hero that he would have helped out ANYWAY.
Midna actually changes though
10 months later TTYD gets remade. And Chugga went out to bury his copy of Sticker Star.
Him and TerminalMontage with Mario RPG made those reveals extra fun
No he had to burn it in the furnace to turn it to nothing but ash, then flushed it down the drain

FF XV does the same thing.
Huh, that makes sense though, we did the same thing in Europe (calling the planets stars), until we got telescopes of course.
As much as I appreciate your dedication to keeping your content mostly positive on this channel and making all of your let's plays from a place of genuine passion, to see that same genuine passion manifest in you roasting the hell out of this game is marvelous to behold.

Um, the music is pretty great, I especially love the snow world's music, that is great, um, some other songs that are really choice(?) [15 seconds!] for me are the Warm Fuzzy Plains, I really liked that level as a whole.

If so, I can imagine his disappointment to find out how badly they failed at that.

The part of the video where Chuggaa even brings the inconsistency of what the Sticker Star is called straight up shows Kersti say “That’s a piece of the Sticker Comet I rode on.”
Look at 10:48 if you don’t believe me, says it right there
Tbh the biggest pet peeve I have with the era of Paper Mario that Sticker Star ushered in is the fact that in the first three games, the world being made of paper was something the characters essentially weren’t privy to.
Something about the laypeople of the world casually leveraging their paper-thin nature like it’s something completely mundane just never quite sat right with me, and I think Sticker Star especially used these antics as a crutch to avoid needing to establish compelling, grounded characters and settings.
spm did this too where only mario and the pixels had powers involving paper
Absolutely loved this so far! I knew about Bowser's utter lack of character in this game and was hoping you'd touch on it, and that call back to the parental controls commercial brings me all sorts of joy. Can't wait for the next episode of Paper Mario, as well as part 2 of this dive into Sticker Star! Fantastic work as always!

I'd even argue that it's also the big reason that after sticker star, because people kept asking for the "old papier mario" the team behind Bug fables just saw the desire, and... well... boy did they pull it off well
There are actually two other methods of obtaining the Poison Mushroom sticker that you neglected to mention:
1) You can buy a Poison Mushroom sticker off a Toad behind a house in Decalburg any time after clearing the first few levels of World 1.
2) You can buy a Poison Mushroom sticker at the shop in Whammino Mountain (though to be fair it’s an easy thing to miss since the level itself can just be skipped over)

I can already tell that this is gonna be a fun series to watch.😊
I thought the exact thing. Just the first few moments gave off similar vibes to Clement's Sonic 06 series
That was 10 years ago!? My God I remember watching that!
I say it radiates pretty much the same energy as Clement's review.
A video essay with the usual Chuggaaconroy level of polish and information, I am all here for this let me tell you
I like chugga as a reviewer or at least someone that talks about games. I think he’s a great writer and can really express himself in these.
Seeing Clement as an inspiration makes me excited/afraid this is going to be a 7 hour rant series about everything Emile despises about Sticker Star.
6:58 Yo, Green Day reference 🤯
Honestly this is a video I never really expected to see from Chuggaaconroy, but it is great to see him go all out on Sticker Star after so long.
I'm really loving that distinctive Chuggaaconroy spin on the tried and true video game essay format! I'd love to see much more of these.
Bro I’m so upset I didn’t see this upload sooner, I’m so excited for a Chuggaaconroy made essay, especially when you do things like have a RedLetterMedia reference so early in
Chugga's extensive experience in, knowledge of and passion for Nintendo and gaming is really what takes this video over the top.
Deadass would be one of my favourite video game reviewers/video essayists on the platform if this was a semi-regular thing on the side of your Let's Plays. Bravo!!
So, this was something I had a feeling was brewing in the background for year, and am so excited to see it finally made real! Can't wait for the rest of it!
Listen guys regardless of whatever his opinion is on this game it needs to be said and be dealt with once and for all.
@@NoonDragoon The people who never been subbed to Chugga before are always thristy for any negativity, but I know Chugga is not that negative. If you even watch any of his Let's Plays you would know he does try to be fair with the games he is playing and then he can point out flaws in the game while still enjoying it.
i think im just bored of his hatred at this point like i get it he doesnt like the game but he needs to move on
@@Venemofthe888 Did you watch the entire video?
@@SoraFan23 the comment was made before the video went live
This has so much "Clement reviews Sonic 06" energy and I love it.
Definitely getting Clements Sonic '06 review vibes from the opener. Seeing a well structured take down of the flaws of a game while still acknowledging what went right while providing context behind decisions is such a specific yet satisfying type of video essay. I look forward to the remainder of the review.
This is something I never knew I needed in my life...ok that's a lie, Chugga's commentary was begging to be its own type of video some day. Looking forward to more of this!
Clicked expecting a gameplay, stayed for the in-depth analysis
I guess he finally got around to that video essay idea. Time to tear into everything that made Sticker Star suck
Good to know I am not the only one who thinks the Gooper Blooper track is an amazing piece of audio
Emile starting off his negatives on Sticker Star with the opening to Basket Case is something I didn’t know I needed.
Wow, I love this style of video! Chuggaa speaks so clearly about his views on things AND is still funny, entertaining and delightful the whole way
