here in italy schools have been closed for 3/4 weeks and now all the teachers are giving us even more homework than usual, on top of that they are still testing us so we have to study even if the situation at home is terrible. let’s hope things get better soon
That’s what my university is doing. It’s closed but we still have to do assignments, tests and exams over the next two weeks. Honestly it’s so stressful at the moment, studying is the least of my worries. Also come May when we have to do exams online, I’m doing a maths degree - How on earth am I supposed to submit advanced calculus answers with working out on a computer?
At of last night uk schools are closed “until further notice” from Friday and our final exams have been cancelled so I have no idea if I’m meant to still be doing any work still... stress
@@cerilavinia7488 hey, I'm in the same boat, studying Maths. I've got a test today and what we are doing is like a short homework. The "test" will be uploaded at 12 and we'll have one hour to do it and then we'll have to upload a scanned version of it. If we cannot do that instantly, we can send the solutions to his email at 1 and then find a way to upload the working later. I don't know how it will be for you, but it will probably be something like that
It’s my third week in isolation, I’m at my last year of high school and I’ll have my final, big exam with 9 subjects in it in 80 days. We are doing online classes (terrible by the way) and we have now more homework than ever. Furthermore, outside it’s simply gorgeous, blue skies, crystal clear canals (I have never seen Venice like this actually) , wonderful weather AND we are stuck at home. So yes, life is pretty horrible, but thank you, ’cause you made my evening a little bit less awful!
You are so resilient and you should be so proud of your self in the first place for keeping motivated with your work, I really hope it works out for you and maybe this may be good for you to get on top of any work if you need to or have more time to focus on a topic you may need to teach yourself more on. Do also remember to treat yourself and look after your health with breaks maybe little sits in the garden with a drink or picnic xx

The actual worst thing is that the weather has been horrible for weeks BUT NOW IT’S CRISTAL CLEAR AND 17 DEGREES. Like I just want to go out, have a drink on a cafe terras with my friends. Instead I’ll just stick my head out the window and just let the sun hit my face for a while.
I'm on my 8th week of self isolation, located in ShenZhen China. I feel that I am definitely more productive in the self-isolation, and I was able to learn better by learning on my own pace.

I'm a leaving cert student (kinda like the A-Levels in Ireland) and am currently freaking out. The timing of this thing has been absoutely horrendous but the main thing is that everyone stays safe. Great motivational video Jack for those self isolation study day breaks!!!
I'm studying in China and came back just as it all broke out. Have been quarantined in school for a month and a half now.... its done so well study wise, but after 3 weeks it takes a toll mentally if you don't do sport and don't keep in regular contact with ppl. after a month i started doing mini home workouts and feel so much better for it! but study is progressing so well and the 'promise to myself' of giving my self a break by spending a week seeing friends and whatnot at the end of it all is good motivation to keep pushing through. Good luck everybody in the UK... it seems likes its coming to and end mostly here, but for you all it's just starting!
Here, in Jeddah, everything is closed; streets are empty which rarely happens. It makes me really sad, but I feel this experience as whole is quite grounding. It makes you appreciative of all the little thing you have in life. And to be honest I feel like we are making history right now. I mean education has become online all around the world; thus, this will have its impact on the future generations and to the education experience generally. Okay let me just say I have not been in a good place. Even though i'm very introverted and rarely go out, ive been really really anxious over everything happening and this video really cheered me up.
I'm in year 11 and the situation with gcses right now is so stressful, i don't think i've ever felt worse. But this video really calmed me just before i leave for what might be one of my last days of highschool, if they keep it closed until september :( i'm not ready for this yet, but we'll hopefully all get through this tough time together!

I just want to personally thankyou for this video it has really lifted my spirits I’m in year 13 and after finding out exams have been cancelled, I felt quiet deflated. In comparison to what’s going on I know by far it’s not the biggest issue but I was really looking to leaving a-levels behind and starting the new adventure of studying English lit at uni in September anyway I just wanted to thankyou for the content you create it’s always appreciated whether it be now or helping me be the best English student I can be 😂x
I just do not understand how you are so self motivated and productive. I have a huge list of work that needs doing but now that we’re in self isolation it feels like there is so much less pressure and I cannot get round to doing anything.
I feel so bad for you may-20 people. I did the november-19 exams and I'm SO thankful that I was able to get it over and done with under normal conditions
I mean IB have said that we don’t get the diploma if we don’t do our exams, and if we can’t do them in May because schools are closed we would have to wait until November, but we don’t know what will happen about uni
So far, as I’ve read on the IB website, there are no plans to move exams. Accommodating 200,000 students-who live in very different circumstances-is an “18 month process”. They will also not take our predicted grades, and they don’t see them as an accurate depiction seeing as half IB students are at least one point different. I can see them moving the exams to November, which means that for uni next year, the class of 2020 and 2021 will be going for spots. Hopefully unis accommodate this. As we speak, the IB is showing no signs of moving exams. But post-A level decision, who knows. (edit: some unis could take you based on your predicteds which means that you will get into university without your IB diploma. Which sucks after 2 years work under the most intensive schooling system right now. Again, who knows????!?!? Hang in there fellow IB students)

I've been in quarantine for the past 21 days and there is at least other 18 days of lockdown. Now, I'm not saying I wasted the majority of the time spent at home, but let's say I would have loved to be as productive as you are, Jack. This been said, I genuinely hope everyone is safe. I'm from Hong Kong, and schools have been suspended for months... since the end of January. Many places have been closed and most of us are practicing social distancing by staying at home. It feels very suffocating even for an introvert like me, but it's for the greater good!

I am a follower from Italy and a big fan of the channel💕 Currently, here schools have been closed since 5th March and I have been in quarantine since the 1st, because I had the flu (not the virus😅), while the whole population has being strongly asked to stay home since 10th March. Now all I want to say is that as a person who's not gone out for weeks (for my own but also other people's good), I really appreciate you self-isolating, because I know how hard it is and if people are reading this comment please please stay home as much as you can, I am not a scientist (you should listen to them), but I can tell you that my mum works at the hospital and she sees that every day is a bigger struggle (obviously I hope the health system in your country is better than in mine, but if we are persistent we can solve this situation faster...AND WE'LL BE ALL ABLE TO HUG OURSELVES TIGHTER TOMORROW!!). p.s. We are all isolating with you Jack and will remain as such for the foreseeable future as well. Don’t get too wrapped up in the idea that you have to have it all figured out in a day - I promise - you’d don’t! Try some new activities tomorrow and switch up the routine (definitely get outdoors each day, if possible, if not for exercise than just some fresh air and to see life is not actually in isolation {coordinate with mates to wave out their windows or take walks at the same time, etc}. We will all be spending many days “out of synch,” but rather than sit in self anxiety, consider it like when you first went to Uni; you had to get up and get dressed each day but you also had to establish some new routines and you had to find your flow. As we will be in this weird space for a while, some sort of flow can be established, just not in a single day. Try not to become too down trodden, we are here with you and will pump you up as frequently as possible, and we kinda like your mug so showing it to us more frequently to stay connected will always be welcomed (I mean that in a friendly way only). All of us will have to find our new flow (I have two kiddos home for months in a day or so), but we will find it. Stay positive and keep your spirit up while you are still healthy and able to freely get around. :)
I've been "self-isolating" myself for 6 months...For studying for this exam...Now I am a lonely bird..without any friends...At the same time, I've learned so much about myself
Ireland is currently waiting to go down into lockdown, so all schools and universities are closed also. My lecturers all thought it would be a good idea to double the amount of work we have to do.... this is a very stressful situation. I have an assignment that is due tomorrow and have not started it yet but this video gave me motivation to do it!!! Hope all is well and stay safe!!! :)
I’m gonna have to watch this everyday just to stay motivated. I’m working at home tomorrow, at school on Friday and at home for the foreseeable future. I’m gonna keep studying for end of year 12 exams (just in case as they decide if I can do year 13 😂) whilst doing the work.
South Korean schools have been closed ever since the beginning of the school year(we start a new school year in March), and probably will not start for another few weeks.. I'm a senior in high school and we don't even have online classes! We know nothing on how things will change and its just full of uncertainty.. But all college matters aside, staying home has been not so bad at all! Its given me time to think and breathe from the crazy workload. I know so many people are going through rough times, but lets try to stay positive and hope that things get better soon🤞 and stay safe!!

Rhiannon Rees do you know how that’s going to work? Saw on Welsh gov website that we’ll end up with predicted grades, but is that based on our mock results, our actual predicted grades, or even external unit exams which we have already sat?
Cara Macintosh I wish I knew to be honest. I hope it isn’t all down to AS grades because so many people I know have matured up and wised up this last year, and are working at 1 or even 2 grades higher than last year. It would be in CBAC’s (wjec) best interest to do it based upon mocks and AS grades and take into account any units that were being resat this year. There would be quite a lot of uproar basing it solely off AS. I’d be fucked if it’s all last years grades because I had 2A’s and a C because in my chem exam I had a panic attack half way through and couldn’t go back in and subsequently got an E in that paper. I genuinely do believe however that they will take into account everything, as they say they want to give us ‘fair grades’ Also such a bummer because I just handed in my EPQ which ain’t gonna be marked now🥴

Hi Jack!! I know the current situation isn't too bad in the uk (or at least so they say lol), but if you're self isolating, pls don't go for a run, and don't go outside unless absolutely necessary (buying food, going to the doctor etc.). The reason for this is simply that if anything happened to you, the hospitals might not be able to take you in, or would have to stop caring for someone else to help you. I'm in Spain atm, one of the countries with most Covid-19 cases so far, and they have us all on lockdown for this reason, and also to stop us from catching the virus. This info may not be super useful for you right now, but it will probably be in just a few days as the situation moves super quick!

I just want to personally thankyou for this video it has really lifted my spirits I’m in year 13 and after finding out exams have been cancelled, I felt quiet deflated. In comparison to what’s going on I know by far it’s not the biggest issue but I was really looking to leaving a-levels behind and starting the new adventure of studying English lit at uni in September anyway I just wanted to thankyou for the content you create it’s always appreciated whether it be now or helping me be the best English student I can be 😂x
I just do not understand how you are so self motivated and productive. I have a huge list of work that needs doing but now that we’re in self isolation it feels like there is so much less pressure and I cannot get round to doing anything.
I work for a travel company and honestly this week has been PAINFUL 😭 but it’s always a good day when Jack and Eve both upload !!

I feel so bad for you may-20 people. I did the november-19 exams and I'm SO thankful that I was able to get it over and done with under normal conditions
I’m also doing IB and no one knows what is going to happen to exams! I feel so stressed!
I mean IB have said that we don’t get the diploma if we don’t do our exams, and if we can’t do them in May because schools are closed we would have to wait until November, but we don’t know what will happen about uni
So far, as I’ve read on the IB website, there are no plans to move exams. Accommodating 200,000 students-who live in very different circumstances-is an “18 month process”. They will also not take our predicted grades, and they don’t see them as an accurate depiction seeing as half IB students are at least one point different. I can see them moving the exams to November, which means that for uni next year, the class of 2020 and 2021 will be going for spots. Hopefully unis accommodate this. As we speak, the IB is showing no signs of moving exams. But post-A level decision, who knows. (edit: some unis could take you based on your predicteds which means that you will get into university without your IB diploma. Which sucks after 2 years work under the most intensive schooling system right now. Again, who knows????!?!? Hang in there fellow IB students)

I've been in quarantine for the past 21 days and there is at least other 18 days of lockdown. Now, I'm not saying I wasted the majority of the time spent at home, but let's say I would have loved to be as productive as you are, Jack.
This been said, I genuinely hope everyone is safe. Please consider self-isolation and remember to wash your hands and social distance. Have a lovely time and do not stress yourselves too much! :D
I'm from Hong Kong, and schools have been suspended for months... since the end of January. Many places have been closed and most of us are practicing social distancing by staying at home. It feels very suffocating even for an introvert like me, but it's for the greater good!

Currently, here schools have been closed since 5th March and I have been in quarantine since the 1st, because I had the flu (not the virus😅), while the whole population has being strongly asked to stay home since 10th March.
Now all I want to say is that as a person who's not gone out for weeks (for my own but also other people's good), I really appreciate you self-isolating, because I know how hard it is and if people are reading this comment please please stay home as much as you can, I am not a scientist (you should listen to them), but I can tell you that my mum works at the hospital and she sees that every day is a bigger struggle (obviously I hope the health system in your country is better than in mine, but if we are persistent we can solve this situation faster...AND WE'LL BE ALL ABLE TO HUG OURSELVES TIGHTER TOMORROW!!).

currently been made to stay at home because someone in my family has tested positve. safe to say i have never wanted to go to school more than i have right now. hope everyone out there is okay, and if it isn't, i hope you get better in time!
We are all isolating with you Jack and will remain as such for the foreseeable future as well. Don’t get too wrapped up in the idea that you have to have it all figured out in a day - I promise - you’d don’t! Try some new activities tomorrow and switch up the routine (definitely get outdoors each day, if possible, if not for exercise than just some fresh air and to see life is not actually in isolation {coordinate with mates to wave out their windows or take walks at the same time, etc}. We will all be spending many days “out of synch,” but rather than sit in self anxiety, consider it like when you first went to Uni; you had to get up and get dressed each day but you also had to establish some new routines and you had to find your flow. As we will be in this weird space for a while, some sort of flow can be established, just not in a single day. Try not to become too down trodden, we are here with you and will pump you up as frequently as possible, and we kinda like your mug so showing it to us more frequently to stay connected will always be welcomed (I mean that in a friendly way only).
All of us will have to find our new flow (I have two kiddos home for months in a day or so), but we will find it. Stay positive and keep your spirit up while you are still healthy and able to freely get around. :)

Ireland is currently waiting to go down into lockdown, so all schools and universities are closed also. My lecturers all thought it would be a good idea to double the amount of work we have to do.... this is a very stressful situation. I have an assignment that is due tomorrow and have not started it yet but this video gave me motivation to do it!!! Hope all is well and stay safe!!! :)

South Korean schools have been closed ever since the beginning of the school year(we start a new school year in March), and probably will not start for another few weeks.. I'm a senior in high school and we don't even have online classes! We know nothing on how things will change and its just full of uncertainty.. But all college matters aside, staying home has been not so bad at all! Its given me time to think and breathe from the crazy workload.
I know so many people are going through rough times, but lets try to stay positive and hope that things get better soon🤞 and stay safe!!

Rhiannon Rees do you know how that’s going to work? Saw on Welsh gov website that we’ll end up with predicted grades, but is that based on our mock results, our actual predicted grades, or even external unit exams which we have already sat?
Cara Macintosh I wish I knew to be honest. I hope it isn’t all down to AS grades because so many people I know have matured up and wised up this last year, and are working at 1 or even 2 grades higher than last year.
It would be in CBAC’s (wjec) best interest to do it based upon mocks and AS grades and take into account any units that were being resat this year. There would be quite a lot of uproar basing it solely off AS.
I’d be fucked if it’s all last years grades because I had 2A’s and a C because in my chem exam I had a panic attack half way through and couldn’t go back in and subsequently got an E in that paper.
I genuinely do believe however that they will take into account everything, as they say they want to give us ‘fair grades’
Also such a bummer because I just handed in my EPQ which ain’t gonna be marked now🥴

I am also in quarantine because my housemate has the symptoms...Thank god I am part-time pg student so my dissertation is for the next year! Hi Jack!! I know the current situation isn't too bad in the uk (or at least so they say lol), but if you're self isolating, pls don't go for a run, and don't go outside unless absolutely necessary (buying food, going to the doctor etc.). The reason for this is simply that if anything happened to you, the hospitals might not be able to take you in, or would have to stop caring for someone else to help you. I'm in Spain atm, one of the countries with most Covid-19 cases so far, and they have us all on lockdown for this reason, and also to stop us from catching the virus. This info may not be super useful for you right now, but it will probably be in just a few days as the situation moves super quick!
