Buy or Sell: With the merger, Magic Mountain will get theme/atmosphere upgrades but will get less coasters with competition in Cedar Point and King's Island
I think Magic Mountain will either get built up further or get sold. It depends on how desperate the new company is to sell assets. Magic Mountain does not compete in the same market as Kings Island or Cedar Point so that really won't have anything to do with it. If the new company begins to expand the parks, that won't happen quickly.
Magic Mountain is on some very valuable real estate and Six Flags almost sold it previously out of desperation. I doubt that will happen but it certainly could. But if the new company weathers the storm they'l probably want Magic Mountain to get a bigger chunk of the southern California market. But I doubt that would mean a ton of new coasters but probably it would get a bunch of park improvements to really clean it up to look more like a place like Kings Island.
They’ll make it so that Cedar Point and Magic Mountain have the same number of coasters. That way they can market both parks as having the most roller coasters in the world.
100% agree. There's no way they can keep Ninja and Superman open much longer. Mm is going to lose its title. The top of mountain seems to only be open for Fright Fest.
@@zacg_ SFMM being sold isn't a possibility, you're talking about six flags' flagship park and even with the merger you're still talking 1 of the top 3. not to mention its gonna be the park that brings in the most money since its open all year. It will get quality upgrades but coasters are its main draw and that wont change. They have their well themed park in Knotts, SFMM is the coaster park. Just improve the image and keep doing what makes you a destination park

I'm selling the Vekoma Super Boomerang being cloned all over Six Flags. Cedar Fair doesn't typically put clones everywhere as far as I know. Doesnt the merger put CF management in charge?
I think the parks will operate as usual, just with one shared stock

@@BurgerInATux The reason SF wanted this merger and actually need it as they are floundering as their management has been horrible for decades. SF financial results have been poor for years, even as other chains were producing post pandemic records SF was going to 2017 levels of financials. There is no point of the merger from the SF perspective, if they are going to keep doing the same failed stuff. SF wanted to do premiumization and they failed at it with Selim. CF has actually done premiumization the last decade successfully and that's what will be implemented at the top 6 or so SF parks.
CF owns 1 more percent then six flags, but the board is being made up of 6 people from six flags and 6 from Cedar fair

I think this is likely, and will be dependant on two things: word of mouth and cost. Most of the new Six Flags board members will be from Cedar Fair, but they will still be answering to Six Flags managers and parks with more experience with RMC coasters. All of Six Flags' combined RMC coasters likely have a near perfect record for maintenance compared to the opening years of Steel Vengence, meaning RMC may have a better record overall. As for price, RMC I box coasters are very cheap compared to simmilarly sized coasters, especially if it's a conversion of an old woodie. Six Flags/Cedar Fair may have to shop more responsibly if they hope to get their 4 billion dollar debt paid off, meaning cheaper attractions may be more likely investments, enter RMC.
Considering that Wolverine Wildcat has some Titan track on it, I find an RMC treatment unlikely.

two park in one metro area? I don't see that happening. 1. CGA and SFDK are 1 and half hours away from each 2. CGA is around Silicon Valley and Six Flags DK is around northern bay area and Sacramento 3. Saying that parks right next to each other will close is like saying that Knott's berry farm will close because of Six flags Magic Mountain

I'm selling the Falcon's Flight prompt entirely because I'm skeptical that it actually gets built to begin with. Aside from all the potential headaches from building a coaster that size, Saudi Arabia has a bit of a reputation for leaving megaprojects unfinished.
Pass by Qiddiya regularly. It is definitely being built along with other significant projects.
It's being built now but that in no way means it'll be finished or actually open
Buy or Sell: Certain coasters in the Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks will have their names and themes changed due to the merger. (Example: Flight Deck at CW gets new age Vekoma trains and becomes Batman the Ride.)
I wouldn't be surprised if Gold Coaster at Dreamworld is one of the last Arrow's around as well. It runs pretty well, minimal maintenance issues and had new Vekoma trains in 2015. The way the waterpark is built around it, I'd say it's got another 10-15 years in it.
Buy or sell : La ronde gets a new coaster because when the park went up for sale in the 90 , cedar fair had originally wanted to aquire the park , now that they have it in their chaine

Buy or sell: Busch gardens Tampa will change up the central area, either closing by scorpion, adding an attraction in the Pantopian theater, or a new stand out coaster in addition to the new ride.
So BGT is my home park. I'm not going to say buy/sell on this one, but I think after Phoenix Rising, they take a year off (to avoid trying to outshine Epic Universe), then we get the Giga. I'm honestly surprised that Pantopia Theater wasn't demolished to make Phoenix Rising longer because they do not use that building much. I don't think Scorpion is going anywhere since it does pretty well with the GP but if they do get rid of it, it opens up a lot of land if they extend beyond Scorpion's current plot
Buy or Sell: The new Six Flags builds Great Adventure up as a multi-day destination in the style of Cedar Point/Knott’s, or even bigger than that.
This would do wonders for the park if they do this. My family would probably visit it more too.
Buy or Sell: With the merger, at least two Cedar Fair parks gain the Six Flags title to help with recognition and marketing, specifically Worlds of Fun.
Could be a nice geagua lake callback, and they can do it like great escape where they just add “a six flags park”
@@justinjoestar1902 I was thinking it would be more like Fiesta Texas, Great Escape, or Magic Mountain. These parks were originally independent, but gained the Six Flags name later on. In this case, the park would be called Six Flags: Worlds of Fun.

Agree.....The World Cup is absolutely irrelevant to theme parks Major Capex. They do not make significant Capex decisions based on 3 games being played in a city over at most 1 week. Out of town visitors will go possibly if they market, as outlined in the video
I kinda doubt parks like Six Flags, Worlds of Fun, or Fun Spot are going to be destinations for very many World Cup travelers. Disney/Universal might be another story for people in Socal, but even there it's the parks themselves that are the attraction, adding a new coaster isn't gonna do anything
I wouldn't be so sure. People will be travelling to these cities to see their teams, and will look for entertainment before and after the game

With the prevalence of Chinese products in the United States, over the past couple of decades, I’m actually a little bit surprised that we have not seen a coaster from China so far besides the one kitty coaster that opened in the Midwest
Small, menial consumer things come from China. Cars, equipment, or anything people moving like I feel we would never let China make.
Saudi Arabia has more dinar than cents. When I first saw the news about Falcon's Flight, I thought it was like someone designed it in a rollercoaster game and sent the save file to Intamin. It will be a maintenance nightmare because of the scope of it.

Oh 1 thing i'd like to add about Zambezi Zinger...... It was a MAINTENANCE NIGHTMARE and that ride broke down every day. It'll be up for about an hour, then go down then go up again and be fine for about another 2-3 hours then go down again, yeah it was a nightmare, even during the morning testing when we had to test the block brake it went down too. Trust me i worked there for the 50th anniversary of WOF it was a nightmare for me as well.

I'm skeptical about Falcons Flight. It looks cool but the maintenance costs would be a real nightmare. I guess we will see what happens. Canada's Wonderland is getting a B&M Wing Launch Coaster In 2025. Think construction will start at the end of the year so I'm excited.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Buy or Sell: Kings Island's next coaster will not be a B&M. It's going to be a launched coaster. They havent introduced any since before CF even took over. FoF is from 1996 and Backlot Stunt Coaster came out in 2005. They're overdue, and nearby parks Indiana Beach and Kentucky Kingdom don't have any. And Holiday World only has Thunderbird. The next closest would be CP, and I don't think launched coasters are a competition threat between CP and KI.
I'll take it a step further. Maybe this won't happen for the NEXT coaster, but KI will be removing the ampitheatre and Invertigo (possibly remove/relocate Congo Falls) for a new front gate coaster. Invertigo is the last of the inverted boomerangs I believe, I don't see it staying for a decade longer. Despite how much I like it. Maybe the station is where Son of Beast is, and it's a winding layout to the front. There's room and it'd give some love to Action Zone again

NOT A CHANCE. There are few parks that have the finances to support the Capex for a giga and get a good ROI. The ones that can already have them in CF chain except Knotts b/c of space. Only 2 SF parks can support a giga MM and GAdv
I think a King Cobra themed Surf is the most likely B&M for KI.
Buy or Sell: Some of the smaller Cedar Fair/Six Flags parks in high value areas will get relocated rides from parks they choose to sell or close.
Depends if you consider Nobel rides to be Jinma, they are a Swedish subsidiary of the parent company and they are said to be building the new coaster at The Oasis at Lakeport (Ozarks). Soon it will be right in your backyard lol 😂

I will say that SFOT has been struggling with Mr.freeze recently. This season alone it's valleyed more than 4 times already. It's also been a bad season for OT where it's always a walk on. They even had to limit how they run it due to power concerns. I personally don't see it lasting much longer with the merger in place. Cedar fair loves to get rid of unreliable rides.

Agree that parks would tailor live entertainment and dining to the World Cup, but not necessarily add a new coaster. That said, 2026 would probably still be good years for Knott's or Magic Mountain, Fun Spot Atlanta, Hersheypark, Canada's Wonderland, Six Flags Mexico, or SFNE (if the Goliath / Flashback replacement is delayed) to get a major new addition. Over Texas might want to replace La Vibora with a Gravitykraft woodie around then to compete with the Universal park as well. The Vekoma Super Boomerang will probably be a capacity nightmare for Great Adventure, but they'll capitalize off Flash Pass sales as long as guests are willing to pay for them.

I would love to see C Fair/6 Flags build around Hurricane Harbor or even have something like Kennywood and Sandcastle has with their water park and amusement park pretty close to each other.
They aren't building any new parks, it's cost prohibitive and a poor return on capital for many years
@grobble8954 it’s not a matter of how it’s a matter of when, hurricane harbor has a ton of land around it and I think that they were planning to. Arizona has 7 million possible guests and with non coaster states like Nevada and New Mexico around it, we could see a lot of visitors coming. I think the success of Mattel adventure park will have an effect on the idea of an Arizona six flags
@@ThemeParkCam There were no plans to build a park by SF,,,THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY. CF/SF aren't building a park either. They both have stated why before in detail, quick summary a park costs minimum 500M to build and you aren't getting a return or actual profit for decades. Capital is much better spent on existing parks to get quicker and more reliable ROIC . There is a reason CF nor SF has built a park in 40 years. The talk of potential guests and other nearby states is delusional thoosie talk. 95%+ of all guest at regional theme parks are within 100 miles. So, the actual market is whatever is in that 100 mile radius. FYI, waterparks are firt cheap so a Hurricane Harbor which they don't even actually own, it's a lease park is irrelevant. Given CF management will be in charge CEO and CFO, they aren't in to leases, the most likely get rid of the lease parks at lease end

Buy or Sell: Following the merger, since Cedar Fair owns all gigas in North America, both Magic Mountain and Great Adventure will get gigas within the coming years

Buy or Sell: like video game console exclusives, will we ever see a coaster maker enter into timed exclusive or fully exclusive agreements w one of the big 3 (universal/disney/six) to drive attendance to the parks, unique exclusive, ride types? For example, if Six Flags and RMC entered into an IBox exclusive (ride type or full patent catalogue) agreement for 10 years to differentiate between universal Disney and the smaller independent theme parks?
I'm selling that, at least for Disney or Universal. The types of rides they build tend to be so expensive that the vast majority of park operators wouldn't be able to afford to build the same types of things anyway.
Buy or sell: now that six flags and cedar fair are merged, we’ll see either great adventure or magic mountain get a giga before the end of the decade
Second buy or sell: now that the companies are merged, six flags and cedar fair will start bundling season passes for some of their closer parks, like knott’s and magic mountain or great adventure and dorney.
Third buy or sell: with the merger, at least one of the smaller parks in the combined chain will be sold off
4th buy or sell: the merged chain will finally rmc hurler at carowinds before 2028
Buy or Sell : Buy 2030 all new intamin coasters get lap bars instead of over the shoulder restraints
Buy or Sell: The vekoma boomerang will have 2 trains so they can load and unload faster so they don't have a really long line kinda like what Mr. Freeze has at SFSL & SFOT.
Buy or sell: Energylandia will have 25 coasters by 2030
