Do the whole original album "Days of Future Paste" from 1969 -- beginning to end, every track orchestrated. Justin's (lead singer of Moody Blues) other solo album that does classical is called "Classical Blue" -- fantastic album.
Thanks for the great reaction! I fully agree: orchestras make rock music sound so much more powerful. Back in the day, many bands (particularly prog bands) used the mellotron to simulate an orchestra. But there's nothing like the real thing. Indeed, many of these bands are resurfacing lately, replaying their old hits backed by a full orchestra. One you may want to check out is Procol Harum's song “A Whiter Shade of Pale, live in Denmark 2006”. Exquisite song from the 60s, gorgeous orchestral arrangements + the original singer in top shape. A powerhouse of a song.💥
New subscribers, seniors in our mid 70s who followed this band religiously in the 60s - 80s, and thank you for the wonderful reaction to one of their iconic performances. We'd like to introduce you to a band we consider to be the best symphonic metal band in the world, NIGHTWISH. They are a Finnish band formed in 1996 with a classically trained female lead singer, Floor Jansen. Their compositions have a heavy symphonic influence and they are best viewed in their live performances with production quality off the charts. Most of us members of their Nightwish Army agree the best performance as an introduction is GHOST LOVE SCORE from their 2013 Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany with 82,000+ fans. We've noted the link to this performance below and hope we will see your reaction to it soon. th-cam.com/video/ruMg589OTmM/w-d-xo.html
Amazing, thank you for the subscription :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction, I will definitely do more by them in the future. as for Nightwish, I've heard of the band but never 'heard' Nightwish, but Symphonic Metal ….sounds amazing!! As soon as I'm back up and running with the new laptop, camera and mic... this will be one of the first ones reactions i will do! - adding the link helps massively 👍👍👍 Thank you 😊
You need to look up the reason that the album "Days Of Future Past" was made. IIt was originally supposed to be music by Dvorczak (noy sure of the spellking) fused with rock songs about one day. The entire album is amazing!
I saw them at the Mark of the Quad Cities in 1993. They played with the local orchestra and looked and sounded exactly like this video. Best concert I’ve ever been to!
Please listen to "Land of Make Believe" - live concert album of Chuck Mangione Quartet with Esther Satterfield, vocalist, and The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra. Jazz/rock/orchestra fusion delight.
Brilliant reaction!! Have you reacted to Procol Harum "Whiter Shade of Pale"!!! Another epic masterpiece with an orchestra accompaniment!!!! Definitely worth checking out. The two songs were released in 1967. He's singing about how much he loves the woman he's singing to!!💜💜🎵🎼🎶🥁🎸🎹🎤🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘
Amazing thank you for saying thats soo nice :-), im glad you enjoyed it. No I've not (I've not even heard of them before haha) - its been added to my list - (and ill have to bump this up to do asap - you've sold me on it) Thank you :-)
Orchestra? Have you listened to any Electric Light Orchestra? E.L.O. Rock with Orchestral elements. Any song will be good as they never did a bad one. Jeff Lynne is a musical genius.
i remember seeing them play in bournemouth, i was lucky, we had the pleasure of dry cleaning there outfits, we would collect them, dry clean them and get them back for the next performance, with this went a couple of free tickets, the funny thing which i never thought about till today, its that the dry cleaners i worked for was called knights dry cleaners. we were are the top of and banks, and used to get alot of the stars in, harry rednap, jamie and lousie rednap as she was know then, plus many others that lived that way.
@@Azimov-REACTS i left there in around 2004, went over to london, but before bournemouth, i lived on isle of whight for a year in ryde, then, poole, i worked in poole hospital A&E nightshift till i moved to bournemouth, i first worked for pristine dry cleaners, head hunted to knights, then head hunted to barkers dry cleaners, barkers did not work out, i eneded up assistant manager of convineice store, smile stores south west comapny on landesdown road, thats when i met my partner and we moved to london, to be close to her mother, with her for 7 years, credit crunch, moved back north for cheaper rents
@@Azimov-REACTS i was living in studio flat 2003, was 280 a month which was not bad, on landesdown road, went to london, paid 900 a month for one bed flat, i was manager of wholesale fish market in greenford london, lived in harrow, but the credit crunch 2008, hit hard, bonus dried up, could not afford to live there, i moved north to durham area, met my new partner together 12 years, got 3 bedroom house, patio garden and shed, for 390 a month, only trouble here, you cant get good money, most are min wage for my industry,
Denny Lane and Clint left after the 1st album. Justin Heyward on guitar andJohn Lodge on bass replaced them. Mike Pinder on keys used a melatron to mimic the orchestral sounds, but they let Pinder go and need a full orchestra to take his place. Go down this rabbit hole. Day of Future Past through 7th Soujourn and nothing but great music.
Another recommendation for some orchestral music would be the prog band Renaissance. The lead singer Annie Haslam has the voice of an angel and the music is both rock and theatrical, good early seventies prog rock.
Symphonic rock is a good description for the Moody Blues. I don't think progressive rock really fits since their music has none of the complexity associated with prog rock. In fact that is kind of the pleasure of it, its simplicity and beauty. The members of the band that you listed only released a few singles before Justin Hayward and John Lodge replaced the guitarist and bass player respectively. You don't get the Moody Blues sound until that change occurs. So it is not surprising if the name suggests a different sound. It is not as rare as one might think for a band to start out as one kind of thing and wind up as something very different. Deep Purple (whose name suggests they may have been thinking of the Moody Blues) started out as a kind of psychedelic band with flamenco piano fills, dabbled in classical music before becoming a hard rock (and later heavy metal) band.
They basically invented rock with orchestration. Pioneers, one might say!
Is beautiful to see how a 60's song is traveling to this time.
and....it's so much better than songs that are released today as well!
Check out their original albums from the '60's. Orchestral background included.
In 2006 Styx did a concert with the CYO. Look for clips of it here on TH-cam.❤
Yes you are correct about the war of the worlds Justin Hayward is the singer of both bands
I took my first date to see The Moody Blues in 1967 to the Fillmore East. Five guys on stage it was phenomenal.
Justin wrote this song while in High School…….
Yes he did sing forever autumn, another brilliant song
Amazing .. thank you for the confirmation!
the Moodies were considered the smallest orchestra in the world at one time. also check out the live concert at red rocks
Singer Justin Hayward still performs "Forever Autumn" at his concerts. He and world-rated bassist John Lodge joined the Moodies in about 1966.
best live version, the whole album should be listened to as it tells a story
amazing - i still want to watch the whole show, ive just not had chance yet .. such a great song
hope you like it!@@Azimov-REACTS
@@Azimov-REACTSoh you really need to hear it. It's a story, one song leads into the next, it's amazing.

A minor point: it was 1967, and it's spelled "Days of Future Passed". Also, this was the first rock album to use an orchestra.
Also they laid it down live in the studio, in one try.
bonsoir j'ai plus de 70 ans et j'éprouve toujours le même bonheur de les entendre, cette chanson et cette musique sont immortelles
im glad you enjoyed them :-)
You need to react to “Question” from the same concert at Royal Albert Hall…
Awesome, thank you - ive added it to my list
Yes, Justin Heyward was on Forever Autumn.
It's a love song. White satin is referring to the bed sheets
ahhh amazing, before looking at the speeling i thought it was about Knights in white satin lol
