The song, written by songwriter B. A. Robertson and Mike Rutherford, was inspired by Mike and B.A. realizing their fathers had died around the same time (Robertson's 11 days before B. A.'s son was born), and they later learned singer Paul Carrack's father had died when he was young (11), as well. The video was filmed in October 1988 and features Mike Rutherford with his then-eight-year-old son, Tom.

The older I get, the more this song hits hard. The lyrics are phenomenal.

Here's the thing with me...most people in this and other comment keep saying they never knew Prince could play an electric guitar that good! I mean come on !! Where were these people? On another planet?? It's so kinda annoying reading these people comnents about not knowing prince could play a electric guitar, when he does multiple instruments in his songs, not to mention all of his concerts ! I mean I live in the Caribbean & I know more about prince or any artist based in the united States than it's own inhabitants ! That's embarrassing! What was everyone doing ? 😅

I bought my first Pink Floyd album in 1969 (Ummagumma) and saw them live in 1971 and 4 more times after that. For me This is the BEST band of all times. Now I'm 71 years old and still listen to them everyday.

There is "Music" and there is "Pink Floyd". They brings you somewhere out of your body! Pink Floyd made me fly for the last 55 years and I've been bless for that!

Is keyboard is part of the synthesizer. The head unit is what he is playing with before he goes back play the drums for the last time. He was in the music shop checking out the latest synthesizers when he had the idea of strapping it on. And he called it the Keytar. There was another instrument just as equally masterful. His voice. 🚜🤠🐂

No the organ belongs just as it belongs in House of the Rising Sun by the Animals or Light my Fire by the Doors. You may not like the organ to begin with but in MY opinion it sounds great
