I've always been amazed at how something so big, weighed down with luggage and people, gets off the ground and into the air so gracefully and easily. Same goes for the huge military cargo flights.
You know, if you think about it - imagine how much aerodynamic lift that wing is producing....That is one immense lift force! Given an aircraft that can weigh almost one million pounds at MTOW.
This A380 is powered with Rolls-Royce Trent 900. Other A380 powered with Engine Alliance GP7000 are quieter but still, you can hear the noise as long as you're seated in front of the engines.
@Winglets68 spike looking thing That come off the winglet?? lol... there are 5 "endings" at the wings to day... the classic ending like on the 777-200 and 737 classics. Wingtip fence like on the A320 family,A310,A300 and A380. Sharklets that will be mounted on the A320 family soon. Winglet/Blended winglet like on the 747,A330/A340/767,737,757 etc... and Raked wingtips like on the 787,767-400ER,777-200LR/300ER.. wingtip fence and winglet are 2 quite different wingtip "endings"
Yeah, I think Airbus went with a bit underpowered engines one the A380 since they made a big failure by overpowering the A340-500 and 600 which made them use too much fuel. They have also made wide thick wings which makes it very fuel efficient at high altitudes.
@Winglets68 Airbus A380 do not have winglets... but wingtip fences.. the only airbus having winglets are A330/340... A320 family will come with sharklets soon...
just for info. Emirates use RR Trent 772 for A330-200/ A340-500 Trent 553/B777-200.Trent877B777.200ER Trent892/B777-300 Trent 892. Hawainian Use Trent &00 series for their A330-200. agreed USAir use P&W. and Boeing only use the GE90-115b for the 777-300ER as GE gave such a large subsidy to them.the reason BA was upset with only GE90 as engine choice is down to when they brought the original 777 the plane was delayed in service by fan vibrations=, power surges and ETOP cerification failure
Damn right. That's why all the GE and PW only airlines like Emirates, US Airways and Hawaiian Airlines weren't bothered in the slightest when they were told they could only have RR engines on the A350. British Airways on the other hand kicked up a right fuss when they found out RR wouldn't be offering their engine for the 77X and nearly cancelled their order at the thought of having GE engines. Of course they had to relent because they had no choice
That's quite a derated low performance take-off.... Scary how low it flies there, as if it was a russian classic, but these wings and their Vref are quite top notch anyway I'm sure with more powerful engines, less deration and a sligtly lower Pax This thing would rocket up the sky. I
A380 is the type of plane to stop 2 times when throttling up! Like it goes up from 0% to 40% then to 75%, then to TO/GA. Unlike other planes like the A330, 0% to 50% then TO/GA (or takeoff power of choice)
@OjojoHK You've obviously not been looking in the right places. Do some research on the PW4000. That's had more problems than any RR engine. You are also wrong about power outputs. All three companies have similar outputs depending which aircraft they are powering
@raykrislianggi but rolls royces engines always gets that horrible and painful roar on your ear, like on the 747s, a330s, a380s, and they do not produce as much thrusts/power when compared to GE or P&W engines with no as good fuel efficiencies plus, what i am saying is that Rolls Royce engines has too much engine design flaws, i have never seen GE engines exploding or leading to a disaster as often as rolls royce enignes.
just because you are frustrated that the 747 is not as popular as in the old days en you like more sales is noreason to bash the magnificent A380.And unless you are a airline c.e.o. i cant take you seriously.grtz
Repent now! People who died before went to heaven or hell and came back alive back to earth to tell other people about Jesus Christ! Please love Jesus Christ!
There is absolutely no need to use words such as: "yanky crap" I am just criticizing a company's products, not the country of origin. You must be a British, because there are elements of nationalistic ideology in your responses, and if you were to start an argument, please use a dictionary. And the list of RR's engine faults includes: QANTAS A380 engine explosion in 2010, British Airways 747 fire in 2011, British Airways 777-200ER ice crystals in 2008, Cathay Pacific A330 in 2011 SERIOUS ENOUGH!
The last few shots really gave the impression of high altitude frigid air! I got a chill! Nice work, Thanks :)
A380 all the way. She's big, beautiful, and just straight out very good looking especially when flying. This video is awesome and very well recorded.
I've always been amazed at how something so big, weighed down with luggage and people, gets off the ground and into the air so gracefully and easily.
Same goes for the huge military cargo flights.
Great video. The growl from those engines is just monstrous.
Sweet, thanks for making this longer than average. Good views too.
You know, if you think about it - imagine how much aerodynamic lift that wing is producing....That is one immense lift force! Given an aircraft that can weigh almost one million pounds at MTOW.
View doesn't get much better. It's beautiful
A380 is truly the best experience ever!!!i felt a difference in comfort when i flew in an singapore airlines A380 n a singapore airlines A330
Wow, I have never heard those Trents on an A380 sound that powerful and loud!
Beautiful, both the aircraft and the scenery.
@Winglets68 They are calle "Wing Fences", SIlly. They are the same desing as on the A320 Series,A300,and A310. The A330/A3340 have a "Winglet".
MAN THOSE ROLLS ROYCE ENGINES!!!!! Awesome video man.
+Torin Sullivan thanks so very much - happy holidays, all the best for 2016
Awesome growl sound too
This A380 is powered with Rolls-Royce Trent 900. Other A380 powered with Engine Alliance GP7000 are quieter but still, you can hear the noise as long as you're seated in front of the engines.
Thank you ,it´s fantastic video. I watched here in Brasil.
Love the roar of the engines.
I love that soft humming sound
amazing....gr8 video. I watched here in Trinidad & Tobago.

Just flew on this beauty from JFK-SIN and loved every second!
perfect audio!!!!!
oil feeder stub pipe was fitted with a filter and the pipe was bent causeing a weekning of the joint hence the failure.
Great video!

@ZeroMontage That is the A380... A330/340 have Winglets, not wingtip fences like this plane...
@Winglets68 Airbus A380 do not have winglets... but wingtip fences.. the only airbus having winglets are A330/340... A320 family will come with sharklets soon...
@mrmoerder Nahh, the fences are those little spike looking things that come off the winglets
Because it sucks up the air around including the moisture, you may notice from the video that the aircraft took off while raining.
@OjojoHK Both engines have more or less identical noise levels at full power
nice video clip super thanks for the upload
What other 4 engine airbus has those kind of winglets
Still Can't believe how quiet this plane is. Even though the engines roar, it's not so loud.
The A380 has to be my most favorite plane.
just for info. Emirates use RR Trent 772 for A330-200/ A340-500 Trent 553/B777-200.Trent877B777.200ER Trent892/B777-300 Trent 892.

Very cool! love RR engine sound :) and this view seems to be from business class... do you remember the seat number?
Another reason why the engines fog up is that the climate is also cold which causes the air to condense as it gets sucked by the engines.
Anonymous96833 It's called "shock condensation."
What was your seat number?
That's quite a derated low performance take-off.... Scary how low it flies there, as if it was a russian classic, but these wings and their Vref are quite top notch anyway I'm sure with more powerful engines, less deration and a sligtly lower Pax This thing would rocket up the sky.
I
Why does the engine fog up like that?
what a Sound!!!
Great video!! :)
@TheTrucker302 Noo. Thats definately winglets
Nice sound and vid
@ZeroMontage
It´s a A380.
nice and awesome. i think this video has made it international. i'm from SIngapore :D
A380 is the type of plane to stop 2 times when throttling up! Like it goes up from 0% to 40% then to 75%, then to TO/GA. Unlike other planes like the A330, 0% to 50% then TO/GA (or takeoff power of choice)
The wings looks like they are only 10 meters wide!
Very nice video!! ;)
What seat is that in? What deck?
Jayke Peters This was seat 15A, second deck
How old are you...get a grip this the final reply
@OjojoHK You've obviously not been looking in the right places. Do some research on the PW4000. That's had more problems than any RR engine. You are also wrong about power outputs. All three companies have similar outputs depending which aircraft they are powering
That is just such a 'haul - ass' sound!!
is it only me or do the engines on this airliner look a little smaller . i flew on airfrance a380 from jfk to paris and the engines looked HUGE
Hes on the upper deck thats why
All air planes have spiral at the center of the engine
nice
0:28 Toga thrust!
Graet vid
Великолепно !!!
when that huge bird lands, it scares me so much :o (being the plane too big)
4 airplanes I want to fly on before I die, Airbus A340, 380. Boeing 747 and 777
@raykrislianggi but rolls royces engines always gets that horrible and painful roar on your ear, like on the 747s, a330s, a380s, and they do not produce as much thrusts/power when compared to GE or P&W engines with no as good fuel efficiencies plus, what i am saying is that Rolls Royce engines has too much engine design flaws, i have never seen GE engines exploding or leading to a disaster as often as rolls royce enignes.
Sounds is alar to Trent 800
It's Rolls Royce Trent 900
My dads a pilot for a ba 380
@EmadIV oh ok ;)
GE engines exploded too. Do the research bud
the wingspan in the a380 is not as majestic as an a340 or a B744....
agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Those are not suited for a quad engine aircraft. They would be extremely over the top. ;p
shame most airlines dont agree. if Emirates had not selected the EA GP7200 the Trent900 would have nearly 95% of airlines.
@Winglets68
Wingtips -.-
Sorry similar
woooooooooooooooow
just because you are frustrated that the 747 is not as popular as in the old days en you like more sales is noreason to bash the magnificent A380.And unless you are a airline c.e.o. i cant take you seriously.grtz
couldn't give a crap who makes the engines....as long as they dont fall off like the jumbo in amsterdam.
Repent now! People who died before went to heaven or hell and came back alive back to earth to tell other people about Jesus Christ! Please love Jesus Christ!
wtf@ 1:32, 2 planes nose to nose!!
great video! however not the quietest cabin ever with these rubbish Rolls Royce engines compared to the GP7000, GE engines are the best!
yes ! 1:32 planes kissing !!!

@EmadIV GE90's more better.. :)
those water sparkles are like sperms :D
