- Throughout my investment of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, I've compiled many thoughts on almost everything possible. Here, I'll be going over all of the main Joestars and giving a few light thoughts on each one.

For now I’ll have a comment here. I don’t have any favorite Joestars anymore because I feel like I love what they had done and the execution of all of the Joestars in the parts they were involved were top notch! I also found myself liking all of them so much when I went back to read all of the parts again for this video. They’re all really great. You all can still comment your favorites, but try to add on your reasoning when doing so, I’d just like to see why.

Anybody saying that Jonathan would be disappointed of his descendants, you'd be wrong, Speedwagon was a foul-mouthed criminal, he was in a gang and he tried to kill Jonathan, then Jonathan forgives him. So Jonathan would forgive his descendants for their actions

Jotaro literally beat a fully grown man even as a 7 year old
The reason Joseph is my favourite JoJo is because he actually runs away when he can't do anything, he uses mischievous tricks, he's not some blindly brave hero he knows when he can't do anything he won through dumb luck aswell, I respect his willingness to use "cowardice" even though it's not really cowardice just being cautious
He also made the secret jojo technique of running away. Even old Joseph is a goat even though we rarely see him acting like his old self other than that time the stand grew on his arm in part 3.
He won using hermit purple without even knowing he had it
Yeah Joseph is pretty relatable to a man now a days. He might run away sometimes but he can fight when he thinks he has a chance. Jonathan was more then a man could ever be. But the relatable person is what people like.

I don't know how you were able to talk about Joseph without mentioning how witty he is in Battle Tendency. His knack for constantly pulling things out of his ass is a character defining trait.

Jolyne - went to prison
Joseph - cheated on his wife after 40+ years of marriage for a girl literally 20 years younger than his daughter
Jotaro - absent for most of his daughter's life, also went to jail
Josuke - punched his mom in the gut, thankfully he healed her
Giorno - literally a mob boss
Jolyne - scored an appartment... in prison
But he's also proud because:
Joseph: He saved the world, and actually was a kind, loving father(well, when he learned of Josuke, at least)
Jotaro: Stopped DIO, cares deeply for his friends, sacrificed himself to save his daughter
Josuke: Was a kind, caring man, who also cared for his friends
Giorno: Took over Passione to end the drug trade
Jolyne: Was strongly loyal, and sacrificed herself to save her friend
To be fair, Giorno joined Passione with the intent of taking down Diavolo and making it slightly less of a bad thing

I know it’s cliche to like Joseph the most, but I honestly do. When Joseph, after getting the shit kicked out of him, says “and your next line will be!” I get more hyped then I do at almost any other point. (Purely anime)
Same, I though I was the unpopular opinion to have Joseph as my favorite and Jotaro as other people favorite,boi was I wrong. He has to many iconic scenes to ignore, he’s badass, funny, and is lucky as hell to the point where it’s comical.
It's cliche to like Joseph because so many people like him. And let's be honest, there's perfectly good reason for that.

It's not like he purposely decided to do something instead of something else: he saw his daughter in mortal danger, so he hesitated for an istant

Vento aureo is march 29th- april 6th 2001. Koichi was born in march 28th so at the start he just turned 18 years old. Giorno Giovanna is 15 and turns 16 in 2001. 2001-1985=16 but 2001-1984=17 so Koichi isn't supposed to be 18.
Top iraki Forgot moments
I love Johnny for the fact that he breaks a cycle of JOJO's selfless good guy characteristics. Johnny is the most human person there and he is so well-written that it all makes sense.

Josuke (the 4th) is my favorite. He has the childish innocence the others have lost due to being traumatized or adults, plus his town is like an open world video game with all sorts of Stands including neutral Stand users (Stray Cat once coddled, the chef, the pylon guy once defeated) and actual people. Jotaro's Egypt adventure seemed to imply everyone was a Stand user or ignorant victim.
Josuke also has a relatable friend his age in Okayasu, which the others seem to lack.
finally, the first josuke enjoyer in this hellish comment section. hes my fave too cause hes allowed to just be a kid when he wants to, and his and okuyasu's goofy antics are unmatched. best jojo sweetest jojo cutest jojo
Josuke is one of the most loved jojos how come I barely see him in here??
To me Jonathan is the mythological origin, like the Hercules or Perseus of JoJo's, he was the first to fight fate, and faced something well beyond him and followed the true heros journey.
Joseph is the one who we truly see grow, where other JoJo's change the world around them and accept themselves, Joseph was also changed by the world in a way the others did not, carrying the trickster persona all throughout but becoming more level headed and less brash as time goes on, and he becomes the ultimate old man. That took the road Jonathan did with a few more twists and turns, but managed to break the heros journey at the end, as well as breaking the curse of JoJo.

Jolyne didn't change, she changed everyone around her to be more like her

He constantly progresses to be a better person and in the end, he is a better person. He did not act selfishly all throughout the story. He even gave up the corpse parts to save Gyro.
@@nkvd7916 I read part 7 and Johnny gave up the corpse parts for 2 reason, one was to save gyro, not because its altruistic, but because he knows he can't survive what's ahead alone, the other is because he believed he would get them back
There was a point made in the manga that he was very reluctant to give them up.
That reluctance was due to the fact that he valued the parts more than gyro in the long run, but at the present gyros help was more useful
People underrate Jonathan, but without him, the fate of battles of the Joestar family would never happen.

Jonathan was amazing, I liked his story and connection with Dio. He was such an honorable dude that filth like Dio respected him

I really like Old Joseph, but my one gripe is they did away with his witty banter and 'prediction' thing. Which was one of the best things about Young Joseph.
... Also the fact that he only used Hamon once, but that's a different kind of gripe...

Don't forget about the time when he pulled out a Tommy-gun and empty it in a bar while also, sticking like 8 grenades to an enemy he recognized instantly.
Definitely one of the best moments in JoJo

I have a very love hate relationship with Jotaro because I love his design and I can relate to his angry front. Its just how he was introduced with calling his mom, a pure blessing, an annoying bitch. Other then that I can vibe just fine with him

And Araki have the courage to write a Shonen protagonist who is not just another "pure boy without any character flaws"

Actually Jotaro is a very caring person, the difference is that he is more a "chaotic good" so he can't stand bs for much longer
While Jonathan is more tolerant and passive

Percy but being invisible is her stand ability, so if normal people can’t see stands then they should be able to see her. Think before you speak

stopkeeper I’m well aware but her STAND ABILITY is to be invisible, so people who CANNOT SEE STANDS OR THEIR ABILITIES should be able to see her
Jolyne is the most developed, going from a heartbroken delinquent girl to a true no-nonsense badass in the same vein as her father and slowly coming to understand him through her need to protect others. She is a perfect foil to Pucci, with her somewhat crude and perverted nature contrasting his focus on transcendence. She also initially shows how the Jostar traits of stubbornness and loyalty can actually backfire.
Her approach to combat is the culmination of the original Jostar line with out of the box thinking, clever tricks, ruthlessness and raw intelligence. Her animal motif is the butterfly which does not just represent her own metamorphosis, but also the entire series being reborn at the end.
I still like Jonathan more though.
Imagine talking about many good things with Jolyne’s character just to end it off with, screw it, Mr. Joestar’s better.

Such complaint is really strange. Like guys, have you read Part 5 ? Giorno was first JoJo to kill every opponent that he faced or did things that led to their deaths , no matter who they were, except Buccellati.
Part 1: A living tank that’s also a gentleman
Part 2: A trickster that lets you question his intellect, and while you do that he will predict your next line and punch you
Part 3: An edgy kid that’s actually badass
Part 4: A well mannered delinquent
Part 5: An italian but not Italian gangster that can kill anything by throwing a piano

I remember this tweet about how they imagined Rohan chose jotaro’s outfit in part 6, like at some point Jotaro asked Rohan to help him with fashion and stuff, I can’t help to think about Jotaro calling Rohan to some dark alley in the middle of the night, looking around to see if anyone was listening then asking “what do you think about my outfit?”

Jotaro is my favorite (and my bae), the man has went through so much shit losing his friends,losing his wife and daughter,even tho he still beat dio he still had to fight his minions because they were going after him,he couldn't even live peacefully with his wife and daughter,making the choice to leave them so he can protect them from the enemy stand users,not to mention he sacrificed his life for his daughter so she didn't die in the hands of dio basically,I have so many positive things to say about this man.

Johnny is my personal favorite because of how I relate to his struggles and how I love his progression through his stand, which is one of my favorites. And josuke is my second favorite just because he’s so likable

Jonathan is my favorite because he was pure and his rivalry with Dio as a brother and enemy was very interesting. At the same time, Joseph was my favorite because his character was designed to confuse you and wonder whether he was a genius or extremely lucky. At the same time, Jotaro is my fav because he's simply iconic for being a tough softie. Also, he got the best villain battle. But Josuke is def my favorite because I relate to his innocence. The fact that his hair is the one thing that sets him off makes him unique. Giorno is probably my #1 though because of how mature he is. He doesn't concern himself with women or fun. He's probably never smiled. He's just focused on fulfilling his dream. I would wanna be like that. I will continue if/when the later parts are animated because I'm not a manga reader.

Johnny's reaction to Gyro's death was the absolute saddest thing to me. He didn't scream like Joseph with Ceasar, he just froze up and lost control of his breathing. It wasn't the typical hero's reaction, it was human.

Honestly, part 6 in general gets a lot of hate in general. While I can certainly find things I did not like it was a great part just misunderstood by many. This and people like to talk about the inconsistancies and plot holes but many of the comments said make me wonder if the person read the manga or skipped through way to fast. People for example will say x was not expanded on when its explained in a panel in the exact same chapter.

Johnny is my favourite by far. I love his personality, but there were some bits where he was kinda annoying. Like the first 80% of SBR was just Johnny yelling "Gyro!" every two seconds. But he definitely has his high points too, like the civil war fight, the soundman fight and the Sugar Mountain Arc. The fight with him and Valentine is absolutely phenomenal as well.
Johnny feels real. He isn't a god among men or a hero of undying justice, he feels human. To the point where you could pretty much take a random person and put them in his place and except them to take similiar actions, albeit with less courage and determination. If someone was a competent horse rider they would want to join this race, if they couldn't walk of course they would be interested in some guy that stimulated their legs again, if they suddenly gained a super power through the means of the corpse of jesus christ himself of course they would want to find all the pieces. And even when faced with life threatening situations and the president chasing them down with another super power they would still be forced to continue their journey, since it's human nature to finish what you started especially when that thing holds so much value for you. And while Johnny is facing these issues he still cries, feels afraid, gets mad etc. Hell, unlike many lone wolves in comics/manga/cartoons/anime that just "carry" their friends to victory Johnny relies on the help of the people around him to proceed his journey. I can't even imagine johnny getting anywhere close to beating Valentine or getting the corpse parts without Gyro,Lucy,Steven and even Diego helping him. This doesn't mean that I don't like my fair share of badass men like Jotaro in my entertainment but it is nice to see something more "human" now and then. And if you can find the balance in badass and relatable you get one of the highest rated manga in the world, SBR.
The first time I've read Johnny's origin story in the Silent Way arc actually moved me to tears. The way he was burdeneb by guilt and how he saw all the horrible things happening with him as punishment and his past sins finally catching up with him really hit close to home. I think a lot of people can relate to not being able to forget themselves for past mistakes, and how it can lead you to a a type of self-hating fatalism. Made his will to survive and to find new meaning in his life through bettering himself that much more inspiring, and the way him and Gyro were constantly pushing each other to improve was also great.

I'm glad that finally someone didn't sleep on Johnny's amazing story or focus solely on his bad traits. In my opinion Johnny's the best jojo because of his story and goals compared to the other jojo's, and seeing a jojo be the antagonist is really interesting too.

Giorno. I know that many people come to JoJo looking for someone like Joseph; a person who’s wacky, fun, energetic, zany, etc, and they may find Giorno boring in comparison. But for me, his reserved nature encourages me take a closer look at all of his actions. I like that Araki wasn’t afraid to let Giorno take the back seat many times (his stand requires him to be a support type anyway). Sure, he still gets to do quite a lot, but because the rest of the gang is given enough time to shine, the whole group dynamic is improved. That’s also why I think we consider the Bruno squad to be among the best groups in the series. And in a very strange way, the fact that not everything in the world revolves around Giorno (unlike Joseph) makes him feel more like a person to me. Like, he’s a part of a larger world where everyone has their own motivations, which makes the obstacles he has to face (like climbing the ranks of Passione) just a little better to me. I think some people can't tell the difference between "personal preferences for personality" and "no personality". What some people call a "fun" personality could be cheesy, grating, over-hyper to other people in the fandom. What some of the people here call " no personality" would be considered thoughtful, quiet, seemingly, reasonable to other people. Fans of flamboyant characters often don't get this, they think everyone likes these cheesy and over the top characters who're loud and jokey, but if you've seen them enough in shonen, they feel cliche and tired. The whole "no personality" thing was just made up by people who like jokey MC, they don't like quiet and intelligent people, so they try to force everyone to accept quiet and intelligent characters should get hate, because they can't relate to them, it's incredibly self absorbed and obnoxious.
Could you summarize
Jotaro's first main color, bright blue, showed how he was more innocent. "Innocent" yeah I know shut up, but despite being a delinquent and everything, he never had to deal with all the type of stuff that would leaved you scarred for the rest of your life.
Then in DIU, his main theme is white, where he feels like a blank canvas, almost. He's learned to express himself a little bit more- not by much, but it's still something. His experiences in SDC have left him to figure things out more, which makes him more and more different (and probably traumatized) every day.
Then, part 6, Stone Ocean, his theme is dark purple......... and he wears _snakeskin pants._ Jotaro fucking Kujo, at age 40, in the year 2011, is wearing _snake. skin. pants._ TELLS YOU A LOT ABOUT HIM. He's seen it all, he's done it all, and now he's just tired. He's sick of all of this. He's probably traumatized to the point of where, if he didn't have a daughter to save and a bloodline to keep alive, he probably wouldn't have given a shit if he was at gunpoint.
Joesph is my favorite because of his cleverness and goofy attitude. I mean, would another Joestar come up with Joesph’s usual plan A for sneaking into a Nazi hideout?!

I love all the Joestars (Johnny still my favorite), but I feel that out of all of them, Jolyne got the rawest deal; Jonathan being a close second.
I don't know, her death was reversed at the end whereas Johnathan was used by Dio and was shamed by having children with other women against his will. Plus his stand, which is the soul, resided in it till Dio died, so he was kept prisoner the whole time.
But she was reincarnated and got the chance at a happier life. Jonathan however..

For me personally, Jonathan and Joseph were my favorite because it was such a good way to start off the JoJo series with Jonathan, a gentlemen, but then Joseph comes along with his schemes which were so funny to watch.

Joseph and Jotaro are tied for my favorites (I've only seen parts 1-4 though). I really love when people in fights overcome incredible odds by either making the opponent overlook something simple (like Wamuu being too distracted by the moon to realize Joseph was sabotaging his chariot) or by using some extremely outside-of-the-box strategies (like tricking Straizo with a mirror since vampires can't see their reflections, or the rope magic with Esidisi). Of course things like this happen all the time once stands are introduced but Joseph was the embodiment of the brains over brawn fighting style, even without having stand powers at the time.
My reason for Jotaro is a lot simpler, it's because I relate a lot to his character (you probably never thought you'd hear someone say that lol). Over the last couple years I've been struggling with depression and for a while my default emotion was underlying anger, and I still somewhat feel like that. So it was refreshing to see a character like that who also still manages to stay composed and likable instead of just an asshole.
Like I said, I haven't read parts 5-8 but if I had to guess I'd say I'll end up liking Jolyne a lot, she seems like a perfect mix between Joseph's goofiness and cunningness and Jotaro's seriousness.
