  • We are sharing some life lessons we have learned by reflecting on some of the mistakes we made our 20s. If you want to live a happy life, one of the best things that you can do is to take time to reflect on the past and learn from your mistakes.
Sometimes knowing what didn't work is the first step to figuring out what you actually want out of your life. Now that we are in our 30s we can look back on our 20s and be grateful for the lessons to live by that we learned along the way.

Can you two make a video about your divorces if it's not too personal? Like how marriage affected your time in school, financially, the red flags you were speaking of, and the pressures that lead to getting married earlier than you were ready for. I'm 21 and getting married soon so I have cold feet about it

As a 22yr old getting married in like 2 weeks (wow, time flies), I'd say *focus on having similar values, principles & good conflict resolution.* We do and that's 80%. When you don't like him/her still love them, and visa versa 😅
We do and have had 2 big disagreements/fights that showed we both don't tend to get dimoralizing or unkind even when we're angry. *The love & respect persisted and that's what matters most to me.* 💕
That's the reason I don't have cold feet, but it's worth exploring why you do. Since i take you're already married, I hope it's good well.
      *Take care* 🌴🍸🍇🌴
*edit/sn:* we're having a court wedding then splashing on an anniversary for a wedding (5-10yrs). So there's no "friends & family" or "we spent $$$" pressure...if that makes sense 😬

How are you guys doing? I was getting married at 20 and although I thought I knew it all, it was a bad decision. He changed so much 3-4 years after the marriage. I am 30 an divorced now.

😂 Joseph following up your first two regrets like "well damn. I don't wanna follow those up"
But honestly, I really loved how he acknowledged your hardships and didn't try to one-up them, and instead, he gave an honest list. That was a really great video, you guys.

Tasha I have watched your videos for months. I love the content, but always felt distant from you personally. But this video made me SEE you! I feel so much more connected to you and understand you better. Thank you for being so vulnerable, open, honest. You are AMAZING. Thank you for the reminder about spending time with your kids. I needed to hear this so bad.

It's so hard to see them grow up so fast. You have a wonderful daughter who adores you and you gained memories with your husband that you might not have had. Every one has regrets when it comes to their children. Maybe someday she'll build another with you for her own children.

Although this was done almost a year ago but I appreciate the vulnerability that you guys put fourth and spoke about things that we all suffer in silence with in our 20's and even 30's but the dollhouse thing I get it... We think we have so much time and our kids are just blossoming. I have a blanket I began crocheting for my daughter 4 months before her 1st birthday and here she is 5 and I haven't completed it yet...smh You had me in tears with you on that 1

  • @lilyflores7643
    @lilyflores7643 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Yes, I agree I can relate with the dollhouse I went through the same thing with my son. My mom watched him so that I was able to work and attend school I was gone from 6AM up until 10 -11PM and I cried so many times just like you did. Now, I am successful in my career and blessed to only work full time with an amazing income I am able to participate in every school function every soccer practice and game and even now I cry because I am so thankful that he doesn't think I was a bad or neglecting mother. I love this video you guys you all are amazing.

This video was so, so, so good; thank you for sharing! I was tearing up w/Tasha talking about the dollhouse, then laughed out loud when Joseph followed w/"I wish I'd had a budget". :) Yes, many of us were still figuring things out in our 20's, but as a father of 11 I'm trying to figure out how to help my kids get there sooner. I recently watched a sermon by Dr. S.M. Davis here on YT called "What to expect from your 12-year-old" that I felt had many good insights; the list of great people in history who had epic achievements at early ages was fascinating. Rick Warren's book "The Purpose-Driven Life" is another great resource that's helped in this area.

It's so refreshing to see a much "softer" side of the two of you 😙 You guys ARE human like the rest of us😊 I thought your lives were perfect 😀 Seriously, thanks for being so open and real with us. Tasha, please don't beat yourself up about the dollhouse. You are a phenomenal woman 👏👏👏 who has her stuff together, and at the end of the day, your family loves you, not for " things" but for the loving person that you are 😘😘 Joseph, I see how you are with your beautiful family, so whatever you went through pales in comparison to the life you have chosen today, so keep moving forward guys. You're doing great 👌 Don't sweat the small stuff 😝 and know that you have made new TH-cam friends who support you 💯 percent - we don't judge or harrass you- well maybe we'll bother you every now and then for another great video 👍😊 but that's it.😀 I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that you guys are brilliant, bold and beautiful people who are loved by many and judged by none, so there are no regrets here.😙👊 Stay strong 💪 and take care 👍👍👍

Love this video, i just turned 23 and i kinda just constantly live in a state of uncertainty. I am senior in college but basically have another year [so undergrad for 6 yrs instead of 4] haven't done the best with my GPA, and i compare myself to others so much. 20's is hard and i have been through an emotional world wind for like the past 3 years. I wanted to be a physicians assistant but the money and the requirements scare me. I don't want to go to school for 2-3 more years and cant even afford either. Senior in biological sciences and have no idea what i'm doing after graduation. I never really took depression seriously, but you just struggle so much its almost like crying is at the back of my head at all times. Ik itll get better but im so tired of struggling.

Dont give up! NPs and PAs have very similar jobs, basically identical. Maybe consider a 1 year 2nd degree BSN program and then work as a nurse as you do NP school. The debt for 1 year in nursing school is way less that PA school and much easier to get into than PA school. Hope this helps :)

Almost kind of my story. I just turned 24 and I graduate Saturday. Although my GPA is pretty good, I'll finish with a teaching degree. Which is what I wanted to do. I'm just like damn it took me 6 years! My classmates I started college with are finishing Law school and have the whole world at their feet. Meanwhile I'm 65,000 in student loan debt from a teaching degree. I want to peruse Nursing, but I can't help but think I'm only doing it for the financial gain. Comparison is definitely a thief of Joy. Your 20's are no walk in the park, I pray we both figure it all out, well before 30.

I would never recommend that anyone get pregnant when they are teens because it just makes life a lot harder and you'll miss out on a lot of life experiences. Having said that, I also so that it is entirely possible to live a full life and follow your dreams even as a teen mom as long as you are willing to put in the work.--Tasha

Tasha, don't beat yourself up about the dollhouse! My mom was in school when my sister and I were young and then she started her career. I don't remember what she didn't have time for with me but I do I remember that she was just a loving mom period. That's what matters. I'm positive that your daughter would say the same thing!
For me, the biggest thing was that I should have left my first engineering job way earlier. I had to fight for everything they had promised, because I never got it in writing. Lesson learned. I was never sexually harrassed per se, but it was a very male-dominated environment and I certainly wasn't respected as I should have been. My next regret is that my husband and I lived it up in our early 20's...on credit cards! Oh boy did we live to regret that!

Thanks, I appreciate it. And I'm sure that you are right. I lived it up in my 20s too. And while I do wish I'd saved more, I also feel like by the time I'm in my 40s I won't care that I wasn't great with money in my 20s because it will all be a wash by then.--Tasha

Tasha, I think it'll be really nice to write your own memoir. I'm sure people will read it and connect with your story. :)

I have to be honest and say part of the reason I got married was because it felt like everyone else was getting married. I am still married, but I was not mature enough. ( We went to college to get out MRS. Degree. ) He he

Well, I have a lot of regrets from my twenties. Deep regrets too anything trivial. My only advice is as much as you can do things in terms of your education getting it done then do so. Btw, Tasha you should not feel regrets about sexual harassment in your twenties. I experienced the same and I did not speak up because I was basically well poor and needed my job. I also believe that young women are placed in such tricky situations where along with naivety we have to deal with people labeling us as uncooperative or not a part of the team or being ostracized because we speak up. I can see why you hesitated. The good thing is that you are an excellent mom. Alexis can turn to you if you keep being open to her and she can come to you for advice. I have to say that most young ladies also do not report sexual harassment etc because they are fearful of what their own family reaction or lack of support will be.

Ingot married when I turn 23 and we are even more in love now. Age does not matter in my opinion.

I was in the Navy and ecperienced the same thing as you, and know other women who did also. Seems like the military as a whole just has a culture of sexual harrassnent and violence.
