I feel like playing Genshin is like growing up in real life. When you are a newbie, you enjoy everything, want to rush everything or take all your time to explore, without knowing or worrying about artifacts and all. When you reach a certain level, you start considering to do domains to lvl up your characters, but nothing more. When you're a high lvl player (AR50+), you may want to have your best team with healers, strong DPS, shields, etc... And you become depressed when you have a def artifact for your main DPS. And you're being tired of playing, but continue to play anyway. And you're quickly out of resin, so you do co-op to help the newbies, or do dumb things. But you still don't quit, because the game is ongoing. Yeah, this is life. Genshin is life.
you're too negative, after long way to get nothing, when you're getting what you searched, you're so happy that it's totally worth "the pain" because it's not like I don't enjoy farming domain, just your way to think, I'm doing co-op just for fun though ^^
And then on ar 58+ you're just chilling building/collecting new characters, not worrying too much about grinding and enjoying the content when it comes.

I’m only at AR 24 and I feel like I’ve reached the peak of Genshin already even though I haven’t even went through Dragonspine because I don’t know how to navigate through it and I keep running out of stamina. I have already went to Liyue even before I reached AR 21 and I’m helping my dad play the game which is fun.
I see myself in many of these types, but the most, *I AM THE GATHERER* I always take everything I see on the ground like "Well, you never know when you will need them" and this really helped me a lot you actually farm without feeling the pain of farming, yk you just pass by and see some juicy flowers boom

completely agree, having joined basically at launch, when i see "farming routes" i always lought them off lol. just pick items when you pass by and you will have anought to build twio character even tho you don't have them yet lol. the worst farming is artifacts tho... there is no resin to build all of them up...

I'm definitely the "Lazy Player"
For me, grinding artifacts is a drag, and I only do it so there's at least some way to use my resin. Farming materials is a drag because it takes so long, and I have multiple characters that need to be built. Doing the hangout/side quests are a drag as well, since they don't interest me that much. Basically, everything has a way of annoying me lmfao. I remember when I was like AR 10 or so, enjoying the heck out of this game without having to worry about DPS or Spiral Abyss. Man, those were some good times.
this is literally me rn tf, i have like 10+ side quests which i didn't complete for 1 year and i have unlocked all the hangouts and never did any of them fully
Literally me, I haven't done any hangouts or finished most quests just because I'll be bored, and it doesn't help that I want to know about the lore of the game but I still can't get myself up to do it

I'm a lore addict. I play quests in original Chinese while simultaneously reading the transcripts in English, I read every book, try to find every connection, and overanalyze everything. Sometimes I come up with my own theories but most of the time I'm double-checking other people's theories.

i did that at world level 4 or so and the part in dainsleifs quest where u have to fight a ruin hunter and two abyss mages took me so long cjjandnsf

fr tho ar 55 and I rarely join high ar coops because I worry about being judged for my weak mains and poor rotations but my excuse is waifu and exploring over meta and grinding 🥲
The co op end game player- where I mostly just join other high leveled players, and we fight all the bosses for fun 😊, and always get absolutely obliterated by Azhdaha

Whenever I coop on Azhdaha(for fun), I use Kokomi. I never die. For real😂.
My teamate died in azhdaha co op 3 times, i was a healer and it hard to heal when they dont follow me and stay too far but we still defeated azhdaha
After 3 times lol, also good luck in ganyu and zhongli banner or other banner you save for, now im gonna grind artifacts for hu tao ;-;

I’m AR 52 and I haven’t completed a single hangout, most of the areas are at 60-70% exploration, a lot of quests still available.. I like taking the game slow. Not rushing anything. That way I always have stuff to do and don’t get burned out :)

I’m only AR 24 but I’m more of a “scared to fight” type of player. I tend to just stay away from Dragonspine because I really hate having to be more aware of taking care of my character(because of the cold) and it takes me too long to defeat a monster there so I just wander around Liyue or Mondstadt.

i mean that's how Ar 24 be like at Ar 47 you will start to get better i mean i could go and manage my way in dragonspine chasm at Ar 48 now i am Ar 54 and open world are way easy just raise 2 or 3 characters and open world is just easy

if you’re gonna build scara in the future, I fully recommend the new artifact set that was designed for him though of course, viridescent is also just as good.
I'm definitely the collector. Everyday I go from springvale to dawn winery just to get groceries, especially wheat. Also I mine. A LOT.
Then always log off in Windrise cause I miss Venti :,)

As an AR 38, I have started playing Genshin like a month ago.
Knowing I'm 2 ranks away from entering artifact hunting hell idk how I feel about it.
But also, there seems to be enough quests to keep the game interesting still as I haven't went to the desert or Inazuma yet.
I'm trying to level too many characters at once, I want every single one of the characters I vaguely like to be viable in my current rank but that's just impossible to achieve 😂 now that I have Keqing (first 5 star) I guess I'll focus on building teams around her until the archons come around.... Need me that Geo Daddy in my roster

Im the Anemo character supremacist- yeeting mobs with jean, destroying hilichural camps with Xiao as my dps, killing Timmie’s birds with sucrose, or just rolling around the who map with Sayu’s elemental skill is satisfying. I relate to every Anemo character in one way or another, making all of them my favs lore wise. I don’t have every Anemo character bc Im f2p, but for me the more Anemo characters I have, the better and I wouldn’t mind having Kazuha or Venti. Also Im always farming for Viridescent venerer artifacts

I'm also on this camp. F2P (played since March this year) who is blessed with c2 sucrose and c2 sayu from standard banner. Somehow landed a guaranteed Xiao within 10pulls after I lost 50/50 to Mona when Perilous Trails came out. Also guaranteed Kazuha, with him came c2 Heizhou.
Now all I need is Jean and Venti to complete my anemo family.
Hehe, same, I'm an anemo main. I have all except Sayu and Venti but I enjoy mi C6 Sucrose, Jean, Heizou, Xiao and Kazuha ;)
Update: y’all I got Kazuha (and Heizou, woooo) in 2.8, and a guaranteed Venti this patch bc I lost on the Kokomi banner my collection is complete as of rn

Well, I fall for the "Adventurer", "Gatherer" and "Lazy AF" type. I just like casual walks/runs and picking up everything on my way (and sometimes fighting some random monsters) and for me farming for artifacts is pain in the ass...
I've always hated grinding games (=_=)
it takes so much time for nothing and you can't get anywhere if you don't grind at one point.
I miss the old games where you just needed to change weapon as you lvl up instead of having to grind one to lvl up

AR 55 here, when I am bored, I love to run from westernmost point of Mondstadt to The chasm. It is really relaxing honestly.

I am just saying (My opinion) that doing random stuff when out of resin can be unhealthy and cause burnout or a bad feeling of not being productive. just saying, if you dont have anything to do on the game, you can do something else while waiting for new stuff so you dont get burnout
Granted I'm a nerd for microsoft excel, but I created a spreadsheet that tracks a lot of information for me, so when I'm collecting materials/spending resin/pretty much anything in the game, I do feel like I accomplished something (It helps that thanks to the spreadsheet I have "goals" planned out and all the info I could want on what I can get each day, etc.). However, I guess this wouldn't qualify as random.

Yep, whenever I'm out of resin, I read books, drawing, or do some housework like do laundry, cooking, etc. Staying in genshin for a long time without resin will stressed you out. If you a typical "never touch grass" player, at least, try to clean up your room/house.
It depends - it's a game, it's supposed to be fun! Doing random stuff just to kill time is bad, but doing random stuff just to see if you can/for the challenge can be really fun too.
Im a endgame player which i always finish quests,map exploration, hangout quest, getting achivements as much as i can and always keep an eye on my resin

As an AR56 player, I only do commissions, collect teapot coins, use my resins, catch some crystalflies for condensed resins.
It only changes when there are events or weekly bosses available
im the kind of endgame player who constantly needs to build a character or i would probably lose it
im the gatherer because i always feel so weird when i see the sparkle, its become a habit to pick up everything in sight

I’m a endgame player and when that came up I cried a bit inside I’m bored once I run out of resin and join ppls worlds. Whenever they ask “do you need anything?” and I answer “I’m bored and just vibing in ppls world.” they usually just leave me be and I follow them around and help if they need it. Sometimes we do little challenges but that’s about it I’m just waiting for new updates then when I’m done back to bored lol
As an end game player, i created 2 more accs to avoid burnout, so far im enjoying it

I joined in October and I'm AR 52 just mainly through doing the archon quest and exploration. Problem is that you don't have your characters built by the end of the archon quest and yet somehow survived till there. World level being 7 now. My characters are still horribly built and my dmg is a joke. Relying on my op friend in co-op for boss farming.
SAME! Luckily my friend is ar56 and whenever i'd like to farm artifacts/bosses she joins to help me, but shes the one doing the damage im just sitting there and be like "yea sure 10k dmg go brr"
I'm the one who likes to work on levelling up my characters. To the point now it's getting annoying when I get new characters (unless one I want) instead of constellations lol
That's also partly due to a while back reaching the new world level I was strugging as my characters were weak. So after spending time working on everyone it's not so bad now lol
I just like to collect things. I'm trying to get all signature dishes, I'm on my way to get 2000 berries, i hoard artifacts instead of using them for the strongboxes, I have all animals unlocked in my archive, I'm on my way to find every book that's out there, I collect 4* characters and I plan on having every 5* one day when the story ends and all there is left to do is some events and banners, I wanna get exploration to 100 on every nation, I want to have at least decent builds for every character I have even if I'm not using them. yk collector things

Specially the time when Mihoyo didn't patchup Keqing's bug, I always find a place where I can yeet her as high as I can like I literally even memorized a perfect positioning to yeet myself up to the biggest mountain on Emerald peak without falling and the need of plunging.
I’m the collector but only for characters I want on my team (Nahida, Xiao, etc) I’m also the simp, and the gatherer! I pick up anything I kill.
Also I’m a very big simp because I have 125 almond tofu dishes 😂

The collector for sure. So far, I've gotten Seirai/Watatsumi, Tsurumi and Enkanomoya namecards without any treasure compass

i can relate a bit to all of them but mostly gatherer with semi-adventurer/REGP - i'll stop and fight enemies, collect chests, teapot, trying to 100% areas etc. boss fighting/domains, hangout quests and fishing are lacking though. most of the time i get distracted by other things/quests and other times lazy cause farming for artifacts annoys me xDD this doesn't help my damage which in turn doesn't make me want to fight domains/bosses/spiral abyss since i'm just spending so long on the bosses and/or getting my butt kicked.

The end game player really called me out lmaoo, I'm at AR 57. I have everything maxed out and a teapot I'm finishing up building. My Amber is maxed out, I know how to play 5 songs on my lyre, and plus my food inventory is like a refrigerator:,)

I always timed my resin usage in the morning and at night so in between them I'm sleeping or doing work. I guess I'm mostly no resin gang but also a gatherer?
Even if Im online when my resin isn't filled yet I usually gather stuff bcs I like being prepared and I low-key hoard ingredients.. I'm not the type that has 1000+ items yet but I strive to have items that much.

Idk, but I think either Casual or the Real end game players. If there's school, it's Casual, its Vacation, it's the real endgame. But mostly, it's Adventurer Although specifically what I do as an endgame player when im done with dailies and i have no content, I rome around the islands that are not yet 100% and read every artifact and weapon description, as well as the furniture or items and the books.
