- To commemorate the 5th anniversary of Dave retiring from late night television (his last show was on May 20, 2015), I've put together a series of "first and last" appearances, the latter paying tributes in their own ways to the last giant of late night (h/t Jason Zinoman).
Part 11. Bruce WIllis
1. December 9, 1985
2. April 22, 2015
The 2015 guest appearance comes from Andrew Lynch's superb TH-cam upload, linked here: • Video
Miss him. Bruce is the whole package. So much talent in one man. Love Bruce. 🙏🙏🙏🕊🤗
When Bruce came on stage, dressed exactly the same from his first appearance back in '85. I was thinking, who does that?! It's top of the line comedy! I did watch his appearance on David Letterman. He didn't seem nervous. He was always confident. Loved the song, they played at the end, I Need a Hero! Bruce is everyone's hero!
Bruce Willis is a National Treasure
A German one, since he was born in Germany.
Well,Mr Willis was Very Intelligent to want to play with that band!Just The Facts!!:)
Class, pure class
Amazing fast blues jam with Bruce on harmonica in 85, Paul goes solo as well. So good guys Thank you
1985 is awesome
It was !!!!!
It sure was !😊
2015...not so much
I was in the audience in 1985. Thanks for the upload!
Jealous!
Me too. Then i woke up.
this is the shit!!!!!!!!!!! Greatest movie star EVER. So fun watching guys like bruce and michael keaton before they were SUPER HUGE... Bruce looks like 5$ in the first interview LMAO...nowadays some phony would ACT like this on purpose - this was just Bruce bein Bruce lol... Thanks for this!
He was so funny!
Nice montage at the end. Thanks for sharing.
A few guests were on more than him. Regis, Jack Hanna, Tony Randall, maybe more.
YES U R THE MAN!!! FINALLY, the die hard intro!!!! THANK YOU!!!! I can die now lol
His accent was so thick here
It would be some cable channel would show reruns of David Letterman
pretty cool guy
There was a moment when I thought Bruce Willis was hoping to be a replacement for Dave. I think he guest hosted once right? He would have brought the comedy, just not the interview skills. I always enjoyed his appearances...
Hey Don 👋🏼
A handshake with a harmonica player is risky business 😂
Snapped!
Guess he warmed up to being interviewed after all.
He looks just like Robert Blake from Baretta in that wig. Even sounds like him a little.
Bruno missed a great marketing opportunity with the play,Cyril shepherd could have been cast as the villain
So the Letterman, ( more powerful than a silent " e") , wore a tie microphone and had a fake microphone on his drain and had an overhead boom microphone?
He’s so fine
His Spanish is with an Italian accent.
How can I see more of the part where he enters as John McClane at 22:55?
This is all that aired.
@@dongiller ok. Thank you very much for the reply.
Bruno's spanish was pretty bad back then.
When Willis starts talking he's not as cool he needs a script.
