Happy IPSD. Kevin, I have been following you since you only had a few hundred subs. In fact, I won your 500 GAW for subscribers. You bring a professionalism to the YTPC that is unmatched by any other presenter. My favorite cob is the General. It's a larger bowl but you don't need to fill it if you want a shorter smoke. Thank you. 💨💨
Thank you so much for supporting my efforts again this year, Sir! I’m already uploading my video for tomorrow but you’ll be listed on the next one! :) 🙏-Kevin
Hey Kevin, thank you appreciate it. However, it is not about being on the list. It`s just a little token of appreciation for all the videos you have done. I often have only you to smoke with. Super excited to see your next video, It's a real treat every time!@@hobbitonpiper
Nice to see the country gentleman at number one, it was the first pipe I bought about 5 years ago, I'm not a very frequent pipe smoker compared to many people in the community, my country gentleman is probably my most smoked pipe in the collection, it still smokes well today, I definitely smoked it way too hot when I first started, it's been to work with me before, left in the car, not cleaned for days etc and it still keeps going. I'm at the point now where I have a couple of higher end pipes in the collection yet my country gentleman is still an absolute pleasure to smoke.
Hi Kevin, I'm a new presenter on the YTPC, have been on here for ages but I'm just now finally getting "on the other side of the camera." You have been a huge inspiration to me to have the courage to present. Thank you so much for everything you have done for the pipe community and what you've meant to me. Cheers pal. Justin
Bent Fifth Ave Diplomat, nice big bowl fills the hand so nice. A Shenandoah that's perfect for a quick smoke, love the bamboo stem, need to get it's big brother the laughing king. I have a Morgan & a Missouri pride on the way

Just ordered a 5th ave straight diplomat and very excited for it. Same bowl size as the country gentleman which i think is just about the perfect general use bowl size. Not too long and not too short. The morgan is great for lunch break at work. Now im eyeballing the Maddox with same bowl size as morgan.
Hey Kevin, Gary here, I've been a pipe smoker for 35 years and never smoked a Cob pipe or owned one. Well someday I might venture out from my briar collection and purchase one. Great vid my friend, God bless you and your family. I look forward to your sit and smoke videos.
Hi Gary! Wow, 35 years and no cob. I think you should smoke one as part of your pipe journey, why not? If you do, let me know!Lots of rich history with corn cob pipes, you might enjoy it, for what it is. Briar is still king, but cobs are super fun and worth your time :)
I just so happen to be smoking one of my mm corn cobs. I got it such a long time ago I don't even know what model it is! What a great holiday! Happy pipe smoking day everyone!
Our faves are (in *absolutely* no order) Eaton for quick smoke breaks, 5th Avenue Diplomat for longer breaks, and the one called 99 (looks a bit like General, but taller; or like MacArthur Classic but with a lower stem connection) for... much longer breaks. :D And yes, Country Gent is also a lovely pipe for sure! :D
Good to see you again! Just picked up a second Shire Cobbit, and I'm seriously thinking about sending it out to have someone put a churchwarden stem on it.
Happy IPSD- my favorites are the Mark Twain, Louis, Kingston judge, Emerald, and country gentleman. Vermont freehand makes great stems. Highly recommend!
Awesome list Kevin! In my collection I’ve got five country gentleman pipes each with different forever stems 😅 My favorites are a night rider with a black and white swirl stem and a red Elite Temptation.

He just loved it & then told me he used to smoke many years ago in the Air Force. But had for gotten just how fun & relaxing it was. I have several briars from savinelli, stanwell, nording, and Peterson. I absolutely love my corncobs, they are some of my favorites. Cobbit shire and country gentleman. Can't go wrong with corncobs.
Thank you for all your videos especially the one on labeling your tobacco jars with the printout and glueing them to the lids, I now do that also. I am 52 years old and just started smoking pipes last year and there is nothing around me ( Oshkosh, WI ) for smoke shops or clubs to learn from so I use youtube and found you and two others that I like to watch and learn from, Thank You.....
Good Evening 😊 Happy IPSD 🎉👏🏼 Thanks for sharing your top Five Corn 🌽 Cobs Pipes 👌🏽Beautiful 😍Appreciate your time and info ❤ Have a great day 🤗 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks for all your videos, I'm 26 and new to pipe smoking, but not tobacco. Nothing compares to relaxing with all the technology turned off and a loaded pipe, with a warm desert sunset. I've learned a lot from your videos, and have gotten a lot of relaxation from them as well. Every year seems to get shorter and everyone is in a rush to nowhere on this rock. Pipe smoking has helped me appreciate my time, to slow life down a bit. I'm going to smoke this bowl of Presbyterian Ordained to your health! Cheers and keep up the good work!
So far this Presbyterian Ordained has been a cool, smooth smoke. I smoked it fresh from the tin with no aging or drying and it stayed lit nicely with no tongue bite. The flavor to me was like a lemon pound cake that was made into a biscotti, in an oven fueled by hay. I think you will enjoy it, I've heard Virginia gets better with age.
You nailed it. I knew the CG would be your top pipe. I have over a dozen MM pipes. Never had a forever stem but I looked at VF and may get on. Spot on. 👍
I'm a new pipe smoker, and I have been LOVING my Country Gentleman! I also just got the Dune Shire Cobbit and will be lighting it up for the first time today!
@hobbitonpiper Between the Dune stem and your video, I was also convinced to get a Vermont Freehand stem for my Gentleman haha. Miles above the plastic one!
This is a fun video. Thank you, I i'm getting into pipe smoking, and there's a nice seven dollar missouri, meershum pipe that I'm looking at. There's also a thirty dollar one that I want to get lol, but we'll wait for that one. When I find I really like the hobby! I've been told you want to rotate your pipes so maybe down-the-line. I don't know if I'll ever have a big collection. But 3 or 4 sounds nice. Eventually. At least for a little while, i need to pace myself cause I already have some hobbies i sink money into I like comic books and i like video games and some card games as well, i need to learn to pace myself. Cause i'm one of these people who, if I get into something, I go whole hog and get into it hard
I have just recently became interested in pipe smoking. I searched and searched for what would be a good first pipe. I settled on the country gentleman. I then saw your video and was pleased with my choice. Thanks and keep making the great videos!!!!
I literally lived in Russellville, AR just a few years ago. If only I knew how close you were, I would've came to you to learn more about piping. :) Blessings to you sir! - J
Just got the MMC Country Squire Bing pipe, and I have to say it is my favorite pipe by far! The shape and draw of the pipe is so aesthetic and practical. Not to mention the pearl like color of the stem is beautiful! A must have corn cob pipe by far!!!
Happy IPSD and Cob Tuesday! My favorites are The Featured Apple, The Fall Apple, and The Emerald. My favorite non-Apple shape from MM is the Mark Twain. I love the extra thick walls. And the Forever stems are absolutely a huge upgrade. Cobs are my favorite pipes; such great value!
Kevin, No cobs in my collection. Yet. Watching this video 5 October 24. Smoking a Viking 1007 Straight Rhodesian filled with Peterson Nightcap. A definite 5/5 blend! Keep the aspidistra flying! God bless, Paul
Great vid. Appreciate the recommendations. I want to get forever stems for my cobs but I love the way the dents on the plastic ones hug my bicuspids so nice.
Im off to fermont freehand to get a few of those awsome stems I hope they ship to the uk cheers for the tip your right about mm. corn cobs they're the best smokers out there but to be able to upgrade the stems as you said would take them to the next level
The country gentleman is my favorite and I’ve acquired a nice acrylic stem I use for mine. Cobs are used on my 🍒 cherry days 😉. Enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I do have a Country gentleman and a Great Dane (curved) with forever stems. But not a lot of people talk about the amazing straight Patriot. It has style, great colours, it is very light and clenches perfectly even for a straight pipe. It is my favourite corn cob pipe, especially when enhanced with a forever stem (I have a Cumberland style stem, really classy).
I really enjoyed your videos! I just bought my first Missouri meersham corn cob pipe and I bought the country gentleman and it been thoroughly happy with it.
Good to see you again Kevin and Happy IPSD day to you. Nice selection of cobs, I don't have any cobs but you inspired me to order a Emerald to give a try. Thanks and God Bless
Been smoking a corncob exclusively for a few months and today the cob around the stem cracked a little. Looking for a new one, might get a country gentleman. Also looking at the Ozark Cherry, and The William. Love your videos keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing. I have a handful of Missouri Meerschaum cob pipes. My favorites are the Mark Twain pipes. I have both the straight and bent stem versions. I used to smoke aromatics in my cobs but slowly gravitated away from aromatics into English blends a few months ago. I started smoking English blends in my briars, but one day I decided to try it in a cob. It was like an entirely different blend of tobacco. With the briars, I could only taste the smoky leather of the Latakia and the bready goodness of the Virginia tobacco. With the cob, I can also get the subtle hints of the floral orientals and peppery perique in the Hearth and Home Black House blend that I love. Cobs are now my go to pipe for English blends. Now I want to order a forever stem for my Mark Twains 😂
Hobbiton, this was an informational, fun, entertaining, helpful video! Thanks for sharing. Of your 5 choices, I do have the Country Gentleman and I love this pipe. I also loved the way you described your #5.
Happy IPSD! I haven't been smoking my pipes much the past few months, on account of winter in Minnesota not being the best time to be a pipe smoker, but today I got out my favorite corncob pipe-a Missouri Meerschaum Country Gentleman with a red amber tortoise C shape Forever Stem-and enjoyed some Mac Baren Vanilla Cream. After that I had a little Lane 1-Q in my Morgan Bones Milan for comparison, and while I definitely prefer the Mac Baren Vanilla Cream I can see why 1-Q is so widely enjoyed. It's mild and inoffensive, easy to keep lit and doesn't bite even when puffed absentmindedly, and tastes pleasant enough with a classic and nostalgic room note. Not too shabby =)
Great video Kevin, I do own a few cobs in my collection and smoke them, not as often as I should. I would have to say that the country gentleman is a good looking pipe. And thanks to Vermont freehand one can get a forever stem to replace the plastic stem on their corn cob. Happy belated IPSD to you as well. I posted 2 videos showing our pipe Club's celebration of IPSD which was on Saturday the 17th.emjoy your cobs. Cheers
Happy IPSD! Have to agree that Missouri Meerschaums outperform their cost. My favorite MM? It has to be the *General* because of its large chamber. I enjoy having to pack less often and also prefer a filter to keep the unwanted moisture out.
Great choices my friend. I have so many cobs including the more expensive models. Believe it or not one of my absolute favorites is my simple little Morgan. I swear I could smoke it every day. Go figure.
Happy IPSD Kevin. Great video on corn cobs. The Charles Town Cobbler,The Emerald and Country Gentleman are in my collection. I tend to use them with Aromatic tobaccos. Especially around the holidays. I really do like the Mark Twain and General. I have Vermont Freehand stems for those. They are definitely worth getting, it adds a bit of distinction to the cob. Have a good one and cue the happy music.
Great to see you here Frank, I was beginning to wonder where you were! :) Many have mentioned loving the General, and the Mark Twain has been mentioned as well. All great choices. Yeah forever seems are great and truly do make a big difference
Hello Kevin very nice your MM they are beauty I have only 2 MM one was a present of my mother its a little MM and now have 50 years old smoke well but the stem uts no good.Abd the other its a big general cob and smoke very well.Thank you my friend for share all this MM.😊😊😊
Awesome. I like almost all of my cobs equally. Although I do favor the apple diplomat, country gentleman and shire cobbit as well. My best smoking cob is my mark Twain which I use when I go to work. It's a beater pipe, but smokes everything I put in it great. Thanks for sharing...
Great stuff Kevin - man you're channel continues to grow well, kudos! P. S. My fav corn cobs I don't think are presently available (but they were for a good part of last year, as limited ediions ie there was a good opportunity to acquire them)...that would be the MM Elite Henry, which is a chimney type akin to the General, and has just trumped that for me, for that type of big smoke! And the second was a BWC number, possibly #9, which featured a bowl from an old, defunct corn cob company, MM had appropriated w a shank and stem of own design, and sold... A similarly tall bowl, and good sized smoke, but a step down from the Henry, in that department😅 *in short, frommy exp, I would definitely recommend considering their more unique, special eitin pipes, too! 👍
@@hobbitonpiper oh for sure, man- not that it’s in any way about that, of course, but I’ve already had my capital fill, shall we say, haha! Any new corn cob purchases will be cherry picks I think😂
Well Kevin, I finally ordered my forever stem for my Country Gentleman. Opted for style G in red. Quite spiffy if I say so myself 😂. In no particular order my favorite cobs are Country Gentleman, Charlestown Cobbler, Mark Twain and Great Dane. Have a great day, Al
Hey Kevin. I have the same list, except for your first one. I also have the Crimson Gent. Right now I am smoking my ( just arrived in the mail today) Savinelli Clark’s Favorite smooth. Smoking Peterson’s My Mixture 965. Have a blessed week. John
The Country Gent is still one of my all time favorite pipes (cob or otherwise) I do want to pick up either the Charles Town Landing or Cobbler though, as well as the Kingston Judge. Good stuff brother 👊🏻
Don’t forget you can call Missouri Meerschaum and custom build your own unique corn cob pipe! My favorite cob is my custom country gentleman bowl with the white plaster (no stain) with brass ferrule. 🌽
Thank you Kevin. I really enjoy your channel.

The Country Gentleman is my absolute favorite pipe.

MM Washington 5th Avenue ($11+) is my first pipe, period. And it is my favorite cob! It just smokes so well!
I should get one of those!
Great info on where to purchase forever stems! Thanks
@@michaeldilley1898 you’re welcome
Happy IPSD to you. Is a day late. I was subscribed, but TH-cam did not send a notification. Those are nice looking corn cobs.
Dang, make sure the “bell” is clicked, sometimes those get reset randomly it seems! Happy IPSD!
Very nice! Many great cobs to choose from out there
I really enjoyed your videos! I just bought my first Missouri meersham corn cob pipe and I bought the country gentleman and it been thoroughly happy with it.
It’s a great cob!
When you made the order with Vermont Freehand did you put in the order notes that you wanted the stem to be bent or is that how yours came?
You will need to put “bent” in the Order Notes otherwise you will receive straight stems by default (at least that’s how it used to be)
Good to see you again Kevin and Happy IPSD day to you. Nice selection of cobs, I don't have any cobs but you inspired me to order a Emerald to give a try. Thanks and God Bless
Oh they are fun! Gotta have a cob :) You picked a good one!
Been smoking a corncob exclusively for a few months and today the cob around the stem cracked a little. Looking for a new one, might get a country gentleman. Also looking at the Ozark Cherry, and The William. Love your videos keep up the good work.
Yeah at these low prices they are basically disposable after a while
Thanks for sharing.
You should! Yeah I need to spend more time with Blackhouse this year, it’s great
Hobbiton, this was an informational, fun, entertaining, helpful video! Thanks for sharing. Of your 5 choices, I do have the Country Gentleman and I love this pipe. I also loved the way you described your #5.
Fun pipes! :)
Not too shabby at all! Based on this comment, I know you enjoyed #1 on my list :)
Cheers
Yeah those Vermont Freehand stems are pretty cool aren’t they :)
Happy IPSD! Have to agree that Missouri Meerschaums outperform their cost. My favorite MM? It has to be the *General* because of its large chamber. I enjoy having to pack less often and also prefer a filter to keep the unwanted moisture out.
Many have mentioned the General. Do you own a Country Gentleman?…
Not yet but it's a near guarantee that I'll get one.@@hobbitonpiper
Great choices my friend. I have so many cobs including the more expensive models. Believe it or not one of my absolute favorites is my simple little Morgan. I swear I could smoke it every day. Go figure.
You aren’t the first to mention the Morgan! Great little pipe
@@hobbitonpiper It's my busy time of the year.
Hello Kevin very nice your MM they are beauty I have only 2 MM one was a present of my mother its a little MM and now have 50 years old smoke well but the stem uts no good.Abd the other its a big general cob and smoke very well.Thank you my friend for share all this MM.😊😊😊
Many love the General cob! :)
Awesome. I like almost all of my cobs equally. Although I do favor the apple diplomat, country gentleman and shire cobbit as well. My best smoking cob is my mark Twain which I use when I go to work. It's a beater pipe, but smokes everything I put in it great. Thanks for sharing...
Many have mentioned the Mark Twain! Awesome! :)
A similarly tall bowl, and good sized smoke, but a step down from the Henry, in that department😅
*in short, frommy exp, I would definitely recommend considering their more unique, special eitin pipes, too! 👍
There have been some great limited edition cobs over the years!
@@hobbitonpiper oh for sure, man- not that it’s in any way about that, of course, but I’ve already had my capital fill, shall we say, haha! Any new corn cob purchases will be cherry picks I think😂
Happy IPSd!
Happy IPSD!
Looks warmer than Utah Kev!
Probably so! :)
I have several MM pipes that I enjoy smoking. My Country Gentleman straight is great for English and Oriental blends.
It’s just great period :)
Subscribed! Awesome content. Happy belated IPSD Kevin.
Thank you and welcome aboard! Lots of relaxing informative content to explore here, I hope you enjoy! :)
That’s a great list! I’m glad you got a Forever Stem for your CG!! Awesome :)
Hey Kevin. I have the same list, except for your first one. I also have the Crimson Gent. Right now I am smoking my ( just arrived in the mail today) Savinelli Clark’s Favorite smooth. Smoking Peterson’s My Mixture 965. Have a blessed week. John
Hi John! Yeah having some cheap cobs to enjoy or give to others had to be a “favorite” on my personal list :)
The Country Gent is still one of my all time favorite pipes (cob or otherwise)
I do want to pick up either the Charles Town Landing or Cobbler though, as well as the Kingston Judge.
Good stuff brother 👊🏻
All fun pipes for sure! :)
@@hobbitonpiper
Yes indeed!
Don’t forget you can call Missouri Meerschaum and custom build your own unique corn cob pipe! My favorite cob is my custom country gentleman bowl with the white plaster (no stain) with brass ferrule. 🌽
