Thank you for your encouraging words. I'm a newbie pipe smoker and, thanks to you, a handful of content creators, and my brother, I'm thoroughly enjoying my new hobby. Your videos are calm, patient, and informative. Thanks again.
You're the reason I made pipe smoking a new hobby back in January of this year. Its relaxing and helps me forget about life for a while. I prefer churchwarden pipes and my usual blends are sir walter raleigh, prince albert, and capstan blue.
Another great video and congrats on passing the 6k subs mark! I've given away more corn cobs than I can remember...it's the perfect introduction to our fine hobby.
Thank you for introducing me to pipe smoking. I enjoy your pipe story videos and the tobacco reviews. Today I'm smoking Awakend Elder in my Savinelli 601 churchwarden. And enjoy it very much. I've still got a lot to learn it's only been a few months since I started my pipe smoking journey. But there's nothing better than relaxing on my back deck with my dog and a good pipe. So Thanks again. And have a wonderful day.
I put together a pipe kit and a few months later took it to an event that I knew some guys would be sitting around a camp fire enjoying cigars. Cool video. I have to agree, it’s best to keep things simple for a beginner, and leave out all the technical jargon. However, there was one word, I once heard a wise man use when I first started smoking, that at first, I thought was a very unusual term for what was being done, but that word stuck with me and helped me grasp one of the most important concepts of smoking a pipe, and I truly believe that word helped me progress a lot quicker than I would have, had I never heard it. And That word was “massage”... At first, I said, “say what?!” Massage the smoke?? Lol... I had to chuckle for a second, but in the grand scheme of things, I got it, right off the bat. It didn’t take me very long to learn, what most pipe smokers consider the right way to smoke, and I believe that it was all because of that one “technical” word.

Great to see you again Kevin. I am smoking my Emerald Cob from MM with a mixture of 50 percent C & D Yorktown and 50 percent Nutty Irishman. By the way going 50 percent Nutty Irishman with 50 percent Bayou Morning is really good. It sounds like your teaching method is spot on. Even with simplification you made it seem like a special process, which it is. Excellent advice from your mother for all of us. Have a good one!
Wonderful vid Kevin, your happiness is contagious. Tip for new pipers: At 11:18 pay attention to how Kevin lights his pipe and removes the flame when his draw is over. Remove the flame before you're finished with each draw or you run the risk of the tobacco catching fire. Lighting like this will help keep the rim of your bowl free from char 👍

Hello Kevin. I just wanted to reach out and say I’ve been catching up on a few of your latest videos and as always, it feels like I’m sharing a bowl with a friend. Thanks for being there, as usual.
Kindness is definitely a wonderful thing to practice, and it costs one nothing. Thanks for letting that particular flag fly. I’m trying some Amphora Virginia from the oft-recommended 5-pouch sampler, and I’ve gotta tell you, every one of these has been amazing. I fell in love with the Kentucky on my first bowl, and the burley was like smoking oatmeal. The first half of this Virginia pipe was all about citrus and hay, and it flipped like a switch to bread and grains at the halfway point. Utterly delicious!
Great video, Kevin!! Congratulations on your 6,000 subs. You have such a relaxing aura about you. I love these smoke with Kevin videos. I was smoking Sun Bear Tupelo in a Savinelli Red Alligator 673 (that you recommended)..🤓 God bless you. John

I’m new to pipe smoking but I’m smoking this really cool looking Danish pipe I bought from an estate sale this college professor left behind. My tobacco is a blend my local tobacconist here in North Carolina blended up. It’s called Evening Pipe. Great subject. Thank you .
I had my first smoke ever with you on here! Very relaxing. I do need some better tobacco though. I bought cheap stuff from the local store and while it smelled good, it wasnt that good burned.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the chat! Sitting here with some SPC Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged in 2019 Peterson St Patricks Day 303. I haven't been able to get many of friends to smoke a pipe with me. Mostly just my dad, but we've been smoking together for about 10 years or better, no complaints there though.. Finally found a group of folks that started meeting up once a month here in KS. Pretty refreshing to be able to sit around and talk pipe talk. I do think one of my D&D buddies smokes a pipe though, gonna have to press him on that to find out.
I have just set up The Cheshire Pipe Club (UK) in the hopes of getting like minded people in our county together and maybe attract a few new people who are interested but don't know where to start. Great video as always, sound advice. Keep up the good work!

I smoked a bowl of 4th generation no. 403 superior round flake, Virginia/ dark Kentucky Out of my Dagner cwa swamp green. I enjoyed this video. Thank you brother
So good to see you again Kevin. You know, my dad used to sometimes smoke “Revelation”. He would quip that if was good enough for Einstein it was good enough for him 😂. I’ve been on a codger kick lately and decided to order some match from P&C. So today I loaded some in my 40 yr old Butz Choquin “Palace” and smoked it with you. You know, I believe that pipe smoking is more of a culture than a thing. We as pipers, so to speak, really do enjoy the art and nuanced nature of the tobaccos and how they relate to pipes in which they are used. Thanks so much for reminding all of us of our gentlemanly art, and those that came before us. Just maybe we can all learn from what , Al

Kevin, thank you for sharing. This is a great way to introduce a friend to the great world of pipe smoking. I enjoyed a bowl of Presbyterian Mixture in an LCS Briars liverpool. I also very much agree with your message at the end... Thank you again, I really enjoy your channel and all of the videos you create.
We’ve never met but I feel like you were the friend to really introduce me to pipe smoking, and all about the hobby, and I haven’t even really smoked one yet 😂 I have a couple corn cobs and a pound of hh pure Virginia (it’s insanely expensive in my area of the us, $160+40% sin tax).
Thanks for your words at the end. There has been some major drama in the online pipe community the last few months from more than one creator. Perpetual drama and sniping grows tiresome.I don't think it's good for the hobby. That's why I enjoy your channel: no drama. Anyway, I am smoking some Country Squire Cherokee in my Peterson 2022 Christmas rusticated 3/4 sitter. Just bought it a few weeks ago. It is becoming a favorite. Excellent, excellent vid HP. Thanks a lot. Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much. :) You have a great weekend also!!
Hello Kevin. I just wanted to reach out and say I’ve been catching up on a few of your latest videos and as always, it feels like I’m sharing a bowl with a friend. Thanks for being there, as usual.
This is great to hear! We are all friends here for sure :)
Enjoying some McCranies Highland Mixture with you brother. It’s their take on Frog Morton Cellar. Have a great weekend Kevin!
Awesome, you have a great weekend too, thanks for being here! :)
So glad you’re enjoying those!
John
Ah, now that’s a great pipe with a great tobacco to go with it! :)
You are a heck of a storyteller my friend. I can see the spark in your eyes, it is addictive. Super cool!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate this encouraging feedback, it means a lot
I recently started my pipe journey. Having my 3rd bowl this morning and am enjoying boswell’s berry cobbler that comes in their starter kit. I’m struggling with cadence but I expect that comes with time and experience
It does! Lots to learn, just take it slow. :)
I’ve been a cigar smoker for quite some time. I’ve always been interested in pipes. I have started my journey with pipes and tobacco literally just this month! I enjoy your content. Thank you for not being a “pipe snob.” Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Welcome aboard!! Very glad to have you with us :)
Having a bowl of PS Proper English in my Emerald. My smoking buddy is home sick, so I’m glad to have someone to partake with lol happy Labor Day, Kevin!
Cool, anytime! :) Happy Labor Day!
Peterson spigot bulldog rusticated with Cascadia Vertical Limit, quality speaks for itself. Thanks for another great review.
Yes it does!
Erinmore flake in my Genod straight billiard. With a homebrew ale on the side while i enjoying your talks.
Ah, I’ll be drinking a good brew or two tonight! :)
Great video! Listening and smoking Sun Bear Tupelo in a bent billiard La Rocca in the sun
Ah, Sun Bear. Nice! :)
Now that's what I call a Friend. I bet he,s still puffing to this day😉
He is! :)
Favourite video I've seen yet, Kevin! My first pipe arrived in the mail today so was looking for some guidence and a smoking buddy. Much appreciated, thank you.
@@Damo_dotcom good deal! Be sure to see our Smoke With Me playlist!
I’m new to pipe smoking but I’m smoking this really cool looking Danish pipe I bought from an estate sale this college professor left behind. My tobacco is a blend my local tobacconist here in North Carolina blended up. It’s called Evening Pipe. Great subject. Thank you .
It’s a fun adventure / journey, I’ll help as best I can with info and advice via this channel, welcome aboard! :)
Well said, brother! Thank you and your blessed mother for your kind attitude. Wise indeed. God bless and keep you both, and many happy smokes to you.
Thank you, happy smokes! :)
Aw yea, comin back to watch this one tonight while I enjoy a pipe as well.
Awesome, I’ll see you then! :)
I had my first smoke ever with you on here! Very relaxing. I do need some better tobacco though. I bought cheap stuff from the local store and while it smelled good, it wasnt that good burned.
It will take some practice and discovery to find the blends for you. More thoughts here:

Great channel
I don't do yoga , meditation , gratitude etc - .......I smoke my pipe - and sort of do all that😊
Gotta be good for you.
Finding ways to alleviate stress is good for sure, lots of options to do that tho :)
Great presentation, friend. Cult red tobacco I need to get.
You do! :)
My dear virtual friend Kevin, I’m smoking orlik gs and is because of you really, loved that review and loving even more the blend. I’m very new in this hobby and because I don’t have any friends into pipes , these “smoke with me” series are the closest thing of smoking with a friend really. More than grateful with your channel and all your knowledge. Greetings from Ecuador and thank you very very much
Very happy to have you with us from Ecuador! :)
@@hobbitonpiper just saw your reply and I must apologise, is Kevin not Mark, don’t know where I get Mark. Sorry Kevin and thanks again! Already fixed it. I feel awful about my mistake, sorry again
@@SilkySmooth73 that’s totally fine, no worries! :)
@@hobbitonpiper calling you my friend and being incapable to write your name? Beyond embarrassing. Thanks for the good vibes !
You should! I played many years of D&D and I feel like some of them would have been open to it :)
I have just set up The Cheshire Pipe Club (UK) in the hopes of getting like minded people in our county together and maybe attract a few new people who are interested but don't know where to start. Great video as always, sound advice. Keep up the good work!
Best of luck!
Awesome!
Thanks! :)
Hello Kevin another pipe smokers thats great and you teach he simple and very well. When i started to smoke pipe in 1970 there no was internet and nothing i was akine on the road. But now its fantastic.Thank you my friend.😊😊
You’re very welcome, I’m glad there’s more help out there for people now than there used to be!
Awesome video and you hit on two of my favorite aromatics. I had some Blood Red Moon this morning and every bowl I’ve had I seem to enjoy a little more. 24 Nougat is what I smoked int Codger Challenge 2023 and I loved it. Thanks for sharing!
Very cool, sounds like we are on the same page! :)
Thanks Kevin, another great video! I am sitting outside enjoying some Old Gowrie in my Savinelli Bing’s Favourite, what a delight 😊
Very nice! The Sav Bing’s Fav is a cool pipe, and Rattrays makes some great blends! :)
I smoked a bowl of 4th generation no. 403 superior round flake, Virginia/ dark Kentucky Out of my Dagner cwa swamp green. I enjoyed this video. Thank you brother
So glad you enjoyed!
Hi Al, the “art” and nuances are what keep me coming back for more! Yes, let’s always strive to remember and respect those that came before us!
Great see you Hobbiton! Great topic. I’m smoking a Savinelli Roma 673 with some Luxury Bullseye Flake with about 4 years of age on it. It’s Devine! Cheers from NW OK.
Ah, 4 years of age! Nice!! :)
Smoking an English blend in my Peterson Hansom. Great video!
Thank you! :)
Great video, love your smoking setup next to the water!
It’s nice, I do enjoy it, very grateful! :)
I would love to spend time getting to know you over a pipe face to face hopefully someday we will.God bless you my brother
Blessings to you and your family. Maybe someday! :)
You’re very welcome, I’m glad you were here today! :)
God bless you
Blessings to you as well!
I love HH Pure Va, great choice to invest in!
I love the Petersons with the copper banding. Just gives the pipe a little more class. :)
Yeah man, no drama…just relaxing smokes is the goal :)
Nice!
Wish I saw a video like this years ago when I was getting started. I learned the hard way. Lol.
Puffin on baker street from the country squire.
My favorite English.
What’s your opinion on the country squire non aromatic bulk blends.
Baker street, shepherds pie, and bag end are my favorites
Keep the great videos coming😊
I’ve really only fully explored their middle earth series of blends and they are all worth trying!
Hi Kevin, thank you again for the Video and for the smoke along. I have been smoking some Nougat PS24 out of my beautiful Peterson Sherlock Holmes that my wife giftet me last year. I hope you are doing well!
Awesome! My next video will have a neat PS24 reference! I’ve recorded it but it won’t release until sometime this weekend
@@hobbitonpiper looking forward to it. I’m happy the temperatures are going down some and look forward to smiling in fall.
Cool, yes I no have withdrawals either when I don’t go outside to smoke for weeks in the cold Canadian winter,,, ❄️❄️❄️
Exactly! :)
Awesome !! Good job !!
Thanks Sam! :)
Nother great video my friend i absolutely love your channel I just discovered you recently on my pipe smoking journey im smoking on some lane 1-q bulk out of a la rocca black rustic briar
I’m glad you found us! Lane 1Q is great! :)
@@hobbitonpiper thanks to this video I introduced one of my good friends to the magic of smoking the pipe
@@jamespilkenton184 Awesome! I was hoping this would be helpful and effective for others :)
Just ordered myself a Savinelli churchwarden 401! Hoping to enjoy it soon!
That’s great! Excellent choice in Savinelli
Great intro....keeping it pleasant
We definitely do that around here :)
Yep, cobs and _gentle_ blends are a way to go for a newbie, methinks! When I was in the hospital a few days back (nothing serious, thankfully), I sorta managed to influence one of my fellow patients to try pipe-smoking instead of cigarettes and vapes. Hopefully he sticks with it! :D
And I'm having some Rajah's Court in a meer. Yes, English in a meer - as I said before, don't fix what ain't broke, right? :D
That’s right! :) Yes, let’s get folks away from inhaling cigs and vapes if we can!
