My 1.6i Corsa B was has been idling extremely poor. I just bought a new idle control valve, but after installing it, the revs literally go up to 3000 and stay there. Do you know how to solve this problem? I haven't allowed the car to run like this for more than a few seconds. Do I need to let it idle for a while?
@@tristanvanderwalt6321 You could try that, no harm in letting your engine run 3000rpm for a little bit, however you should check for air leaks or you can use an OBD2 scanner, with the port being located on a little panel under the headlight switch. You should buy an OPcom or VAUXcom obd2 scanner and use a laptop, then you could check car info and see what's wrong. Don't bring it to a mechanic unless you absolutely have to, most of them just put on random parts and charge you for it while they get money by doing basically nothing.
This video has only one flaw, a part that is obviously threaded was forced out!? I think it should be, first to release the spring pressure on the element and then unscrew the element. Disclaimer, I'm not a mechanic!

Hey guys my Opel Corsa lite switches off whenever I come to a stop, it happens now and then. It idles fine. When I come to a stop the revs will drop to the point the oil light goes on and then goes up to a 1000rpms, sometimes the revs drop and then car switches off when coming to a stop. Any suggestions?
@@lehlohonolofaku3178 thanks bro, it was actually the idle control valve. I replaced it but then the car was idling at 3000rpm, and there's no way of manually setting the RPMs so had to take it so they can do it electronically
Guys I have a opel corsa utility bakkie 2006 When am on gear 2, full clutch In it takes the Rev count to 2000Rpm When I balance the clutch (without gas suppoort) while it's still on gear 2 it goes back back go 1000rpm Do u think its the same thing?

Can be your key transporter. Or your crank position sensor or could be a damage keyway on your crank gear. And one more ...if your have a aftermarket alarm,that will also cause a problem

Only keyway not checked; in fact only know about those on mowers, etc. I gave up and garage picked it up. Mechanic can't find anything..except he found oil in ecu plug which Ive read can come from the oil pressure switch wire. He's sent the ecu off for testing. Oh, he also checked the catalytic converter is not blocked. Thanks again.

Mine opel high idles all the time. I bought a new one for 100bucks but unfortunately it still doing the same thing. I'd be standing at a stop street/traffic light and boom the idle with shoot up. Any car part shop should sale it.
Im in JHB. my corsa wont allow me to pass 3000rpm. it misfires and check engine light comes on and I have replaced that sensor and bought it at goldwagen.. Idk now.. what might be the problem anyone?,
is it running rich if so its the o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold it could be faulty coils /coil pack , change youre spark plugs as well back fire is a result of pre detonation or over fueling / , if its over fueling you would have suffered from bad gas mileage previously or the smell of gas petrol from the exhaust when idling , hope this is help-full

Had same problem, check pickup /idle sensor give it a clean or replace, check timing and coil

This is happening to my corsa and it's so frustrating. It just cuts out on me while I'm drying. and the Revs just drop below 1000 and it cuts out.

Please check your TPS and your crack gear ,the keyway gets damaged, and timing goes out
And if you want to change any sensors in an aftermarket brand. Please use euroman.good as oem
