hmmm....a solution to a problem that didn't exist! I hate the tether on my trials bike, but understand why it's used in that application. I guess it's just another thing to add to the "delete" list on the Beta...such great bikes with problems that don't need to exist......still, the juice is worth the squeeze! What are the batteries powering anyway?
Beta really messed this one up. The polarity markings are the opposite of what any sensible person would assume. The installation instructions (for those who had to add it after the fact) tell you to install AA rather than AAA batteries. On my bike, it drains those batteries in less than 48 hours, to the point it won't start. Needless to say, I removed it until they can get it sorted out.
Hello, to who has problems with the batteries running out after 48h, the problem is not the magnetic key but the battery compartment, i recieved the whole magnetic key assembly with battery compartment.. Only the batterie compartment created this issue
Weird. Seems sensible enough. My kids' electric trials bike has one. I like it. But I don't have to maintain separate batteries; wtf. Seems they could put a rechargeable battery in there that's maintained by the bike and lasts for plenty of years. I'm curious on the wiring schematic as to why it needs a separate 3V power source...
Has anyone removed the electronic tether? My wife's 24 250 xtrainer has it and the batteries die pretty fast. I'd like to delete it so I don't have to deal with that nonsense in the middle of no where. If anyone removed it, let me know . Just unplug? Cheers
Found out how to remove it by trying. There are no wiring diagrams on the Internet for it. I gues there is no instructions because some ppl might try to steal the bikes. For real don´t trust this tether system that it will protect the bike from being stolen, better use a lock. It´s way to simple to remove for a thief. As a killswitch it´s ok, but i would suggest to put a convetional with cord on if needed.
LOL, I know for sure that we will be removing these on almost every bike. I suppose if you enjoyed the added security it would be a great option for that customer. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
1 Battery for the Bike 1 Battery for the cluster 1 Battery for the key why so many batteries? on every car all things are powered only by the starter battery... why don't they build it like that on the Bikes?

“Man I wish I had a safety tether on my bike” said no one ever.
I hope this stays xtrainer only

Me too, my warranty claim takes now over a month.. I'm from Italy btw.. They should use the main battery with a voltage regulator
Where do you connect this thing?
The old style mechanical tether kill switches are insta-kill.

Maybe you can put in battery dummies and power that system by a 5v USB?
You could power it on with a switch just before starting
I'm hopeful someone comes out with a simpler or design that dies not rely on two batteries to keep it in operation! Enjoy The Ride, Jared

I agree, unfortunately I have zero idea on why it needs the batteries. I just know it won't work without them! Enjoy The Ride, Jared
guess what my first mod is?
LOL, I agree. Maybe it will be good for some customers but not all. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

please dm me if someone knows, its anoying on my 2024 xtrainer

Am I missing something here? I’d rather die than have this complex bundle of electrical issues on my handlebars

Will you make a video on what’s involved in removing this system? Thanks!
if it didnt need batteries it would be fine
Yes, the added stress of wondering if your AA batteries are going to die doesn't seem worth the risk to us. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

And then after all of that thinking your Body Battery is now down another 5% lol. Enjoy The Ride, Jared
