For me, the ability for the headset to remote-start the Xbox is the only thing I don't like about it, simply because you can't disable the feature. Because the headset has two radios, it can be used with an Xbox and a Bluetooth device (even simultaneously). It's a really great feature and a key reason I bought the headset, to use with both my Xbox and on Zoom calls since I'm working from home. So if you're like me, roughly half the time you pick up the headset, it's to use with something other than the Xbox. Yet every time I turn it on, it remote-starts the Xbox anyway. It's incredibly frustrating, because there's no way to disable it. Making it even worse is that the Xbox Accessories App lacks a "forget device" command, so you can't even un-pair the headset from the Xbox when the Xbox is not in use (the only way to un-pair it is to pair it to a different Xbox). This means that the only way to prevent the headset from remote-starting the Xbox is to fully unplug the Xbox from it's power source. Its a huge oversight, and one that I hope Microsoft addresses in a future update to the Xbox OS.
Just a tip. If you want to hear your EQ in real time just connect to your phone and play some music while you mess with the settings in the Xbox application app. If you turn everything up they get very loud 😂

This is a nice video - exactly what i was looking for. A great all round set to set and forget. with the aim of boosting to the EQ Settings along with the Dolby Atmos. Thanks!
Always interesting how we all hear things differently. The one thing these do not need imo is any bass boost - I've left that off and still eq'd down the lower two bands. Without the eq feature these would have been returned instantly - now I'm really pleased with them.
I've found that the bass boost needs to be tweaked the most. Games like Overwatch have overpowering bass, so I'll lower it while playing. Happy to hear the EQ tweaks have helped improve your experience tho! - Miles

I recently bought the Starfield version of this headset for my PC. It's my first real headset and I like it. It does feel tight on my head though and my ears are a little big so they start to hurt after an hour or so. For some reason my mic became muted even though it was never shown muted. Then one day for unknown reasons it started working again. I enjoy plating Skyrim and No Man's Sky with the headset on. I also enjoy wearing t hem while watching some of mt favorite shows and movies.
Great video. Thank you. I’m torn between this headset and the SteelSeries 7X for the Series X. Which one would you go for? Apparently the Xbox headphones sound better, with deeper bass, but the microphone light is distracting and the microphone quality, as you say, is not great. As well as having the best possible audio quality, having a reliable, stable connection is key for me. 🙏🏻

You 're saying that you boosted the 4 kHz band by 3 levels and the 8 kHz band by 4 levels but that doesn't reflect from what you showed in the video. It seems that you increased them by 1 and 2 levels respectively. Am I missing something?
Awesome vid. These are probably the best settings I've found. A lot of other EQ settings I've seen either kill the bass or just hollow out everything. Not pleasing to my ears. Got a question though. Hi there, in the video it looks like you increased the 4khz +1 and the 8khz +2 but you explained that you went up +3 on 4khz and +4 on 8khz. Can you please clarify this?
Absolutely! When you're adjusting the settings, I counted 1 "level" as just moving the slider up one position. For further clarity you can just do a side by side with the graph in the video too. - Miles
@@WindowsCentralGaming Hey, I'm still not following. Do I use the graph or your audio suggestion? Graph is 4kHz "1 level" & 8kHz "2 levels", but you were saying 4kHz "3 levels" & 8kHz "4 levels". Thanks!

Do you know if the ear pads are replaceable at all? I don't want pleather ear pads because they sweat and split and flake away over time. I've asked Microsoft "experts" and they don't have any info because the device is new. The specs say they're 40mm cups. Could they be swapped out for other 40mm ear pads on Amazon?
Agreed can't believe they chose this pvc type material for inside especially, it's horrible, get hot sticky very quickly. No cooling gel either, breathable fabric is a must.
Very nice.I'd love to use headphone , but I have reduced earing in one ear. This limits my enjoyment. Wish you could boost (balance vol and eq} for separate ears
The video doesn't reflect the 4kHz and 8kHz settings you stated in the video. You stated 3 and 4 levels (respectively) but the video only shows 1 and 2 levels up. Just an observation.
When you go into the app, it becomes more clear. Moving the slider up "1 level" doesn't mean one bar. I counted a level as the number of clicks up or down on the slider. - Miles
@Windows Central Gaming I realize that, I own them myself. A click on the d-pad (which would be more accurate since the stick could bounce back) causes a half step on a bar. I have tried it on a Xbox one X, a Series X and the Windows 10 accessories app (yes all 3). What you have shown here for the 4kHz and 8kHz is +1 and +2 respectively. Try it again yourself. Logically speaking, look at the 250Hz and 1kHz settings, if you did one click down on each of those, it is a half step below the midline. Since the 4kHz is half step above the midline, that would mean you only did 1 click on that.
Having a really really hard time setting this headset for warzone. Unfortunately I might have to return it because it’s so much worse than my rig 800’s
Question?.. So there is no way of getting 3D audio from this headset unless I pay Dolby Atmos?.. Like the pulse 3D from playstation? I would love to buy them, but need more info
Turning the xbox on with the headset is bloody annoying. Every time I try using the headset with my phone the console turns on. Oh, and This headset is bass heavy. I’d steer clear of bass boost. Good overview, though.
Honestly, this headset is great for like 80% of things on Windows. Playing Warzone, for example on PC - is a complete fiasco.. Connecting Via Bluetooth just doesn't work. It defaults the audio to the Xbox Wireless Hands Free AG Audio, so you get no sound at all unless you disable that in the sound manager; then sound works- but you can't use the microphone. Maybe that's a Warzone issue though - although I've read about similar issues while troubleshooting in other games. So- advice was to get the Xbox Adapter for Windows 10 and give that a go- Well, that works significantly better - can get connection in every game I try- but Atmos audio is choppy in about 30% of the games. Keep in mind, atmos, wireless, everything works perfectly on my Series X - so I don't think I got a bad headset here. Just needs some firmware/driver updates from Microsoft for the PC support IMO.
The 4 and 8 kHz settings don't match what you are saying in the video. The 4 looks like you just moved it up one instead of three and the 8 kHz looks like you moved it up 2 instead of 4. The other three levels match what you say to do. Can you verify what is going on please and thanks for the videl!
Coming from ls 35x this headset blows it away to me on design. Seemingly the quality the design how it feels the look etc etc. But the difference in mic quality is CONSIDERABLE though, and it's such a bummer. Which seems to echo this great review. Again at $100 is the best all around headset, but unfortunately I can't ditch the ls35x because of it. (Which retail is $180 and that's a hard sell. I got mine half off years ago though). Hope that helps
Do anyone got this problem? With this headphones? I hear myself in the headset. I use the monitor speaker slider.... But nothing happens... I still hear myself trough the headphones..... Can anyone help me? I only hear myself when i am in partychat.... If anyone can help will i be gratefull....
Do not buy this headset. It pairs perfectly to the Xbox. Until it constantly breaks up, sends your voice to your party as if ur a robot. Trying to hard reset this thing is nearly impossible, it’s not like regularly headsets where u hold down the power button. You need to plug it in and hold buttons and hope it works but it never does for me. People said to move my router around, change position of console. I’ve basically rebuilt this entire basement to get this headset to work and nothing does. Do not buy it.
This headset has issues within Windows 10! If you Switch to Dolby Atmos in Games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The Sound get's getting Chopped of. And if you switch to 7.1 or 5.1 Sound then the Sound is back to normal. I Use the Xbox Dongle for Windows. I Think the Dongle is to Slow to deliver the Atmos Sound. Al Drivers + Firmware are to the Latest Updates. Had someone this issue too?
@@JubeiSensei I thought this official dongle performed better with the official one. I test actually Dolby atmos with a bluetooth 4.0 dongle. It is performing a little better. I think I must order a 5.0 one. Maybe this will solve my problem.
There is definitely an audio issue with dolby atmos on PC using the wireless adapter or wired usb audio. Mainly warzone and cold war. Other games and movies seem to be fine.
Does really annoy me when people compare this headset against steel series and astros to name a couple. They shouldnt be a comparison because of the massive price in difference. These should be compared to the Sony pulse 3d mainly.

I wish they put an audio for test on it's app (xwh) so we can adjust with an preview
Thank you for show dolby atmos settup
No problem! Happy to help. A test clip or soundbite might be cool for tweaking settings. - Miles
Nice Thumbnail 👌🏽
Thanks, dude! Glad ya dig it! - Miles
Thanks, Sir
No problem! Hope this helps! - Miles
Anyone knows how to adjust the EQ settings on windows 10?
I need help to set up the headset to hear footsteps better in apex legemds, so far my old turtle each 420x are better lower bass but clear and detailed sounds
How is this working with warzone?
Great video Miles! So are you using your custom headset eq along with the Dolby Atmos eq settings?
Thanks for watching! And yeah, for the most part I'm using both of these settings. Dolby Atmos is only supported with a small list of games right now. - Miles
@@WindowsCentralGaming awesome thanks so much! Absolutely loving the format, cadence and your delivery of these videos. Keep up the great work!
@@WindowsCentralGaming You can use Dolby Atmos for Headphones and DTS Headphone X in any game because it's just virtual surround. Of course you get optimal experience in games that support them. How well it works varies from game to game:
Bad: Diablo 3, Torchlight games, Path of Exile
Flat out scary: Dead Space, Superhot, Layers of Fear, Hellblade
Hi
Is 3d sound for all games?
Howdy! Not all games support 3D audio, so it does depend on the game you're playing. - Miles
I have sound in wireless headphones and from sound bar at the same time. Is there any options in Xbox series X disable sound from sound bar?
No. You gotta just turn one down.
@@themobmajor Thank you for your answer.
@@altaiir4 :) I had the same question a while back.
whats the difference between Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos and does it matter which one you use?
dolby atmos is far far superior. it's that simple
mic dont work on discord :(
My microphone cuts out a lot, any help?
When I put dolby atmos on the headphones no sound comes out the headphones can some one help pls
- Miles
@@WindowsCentralGaming Awesome!thanks for the speedy reply Miles :)
@@WindowsCentralGaming Hey, I'm still not following. Do I use the graph or your audio suggestion? Graph is 4kHz "1 level" & 8kHz "2 levels", but you were saying 4kHz "3 levels" & 8kHz "4 levels". Thanks!
@@WindowsCentralGaming What you wrote in the article and said in the video does not match the graph you display. You may want to pin a correction comment one way or the other whether we should follow what you wrote/said or what you display on the graph.
How do you turn the Bluetooth off on these? It constant connects to my phone now that I paired them
Delete the pairing from your phone.
@@themobmajor yeah I already returned them lol. I’m just gonna stick with the Arctic 9x.
@@phxntomplanet Mine are just for my xbox now.. Really disapointed in this.
@@themobmajor sorry to hear it :( part of the reason I like the Arctis so much is it works with everything.
I think I'm going to invest in some quality studio headphones and a standalone mic honestly after all this lol
That would be a great accessibility feature! Something I'm sure the Xbox team would be very interested in hearing about. - Miles
You can definitely get 3D without Dolby Atmos through Windows Sonic, which is free. - Miles
@@WindowsCentralGaming ok nice thanks Miles for the reply.. I will definitely will try them now..
I just wish the mic was better, party is kinda ass with it now :((
The mic is easily my biggest complaint. - Miles
Someone commented on somewhere that changing auto mute and noise cancelation settings made it sound better.
Dolby atmos is a game changer. Nothing compares
Dolby Atmos is very impressive and I can't wait to hear more games take advantage of it. - Miles
I like your Zero and Megaman pieces
Thanks! Me too! 🤣 - Miles
I'm still waiting for the Mega Man X reboot....
@@WindowsCentralGaming I feel you Miles, so much IPs that should come back hard, like Doom did.
The 4 and 8 kHz settings don't match what you are saying in the video. The 4 looks like you just moved it up one instead of three and the 8 kHz looks like you moved it up 2 instead of 4. The other three levels match what you say to do. Can you verify what is going on please and thanks for the videl!
Sorry for the confusion there, if you match the sliders on the video you should be good. - Miles
Why can’t I activate Dolby Atmos? It’s saying I have to pay?
It's not included its extra
Coming from ls 35x this headset blows it away to me on design. Seemingly the quality the design how it feels the look etc etc. But the difference in mic quality is CONSIDERABLE though, and it's such a bummer. Which seems to echo this great review. Again at $100 is the best all around headset, but unfortunately I can't ditch the ls35x because of it. (Which retail is $180 and that's a hard sell. I got mine half off years ago though).
Hope that helps
These settings are way to Basie i suggest you turn off bass boost and drop it to 3 in EQ settings it's more nature sounding then.
Why not just use bluetooth?
Does your pc not do Bluetooth without dongles?
@@JubeiSensei I thought this official dongle performed better with the official one. I test actually Dolby atmos with a bluetooth 4.0 dongle. It is performing a little better. I think I must order a 5.0 one. Maybe this will solve my problem.
There is definitely an audio issue with dolby atmos on PC using the wireless adapter or wired usb audio. Mainly warzone and cold war. Other games and movies seem to be fine.
You do know the Gen 2 Stealth 700 Is fully compatible with Dolby Atmos and 3D Spatial Audio.... Just saying
Stealth 700 is another great option for a similar price. - Miles
Wow night and day difference 👍
Happy to these settings helped! - Miles
Does really annoy me when people compare this headset against steel series and astros to name a couple. They shouldnt be a comparison because of the massive price in difference. These should be compared to the Sony pulse 3d mainly.
