      @@Hauntz_er Jose Molina was a much better framer than Jeff Mathis, at least according to Fangraphs. Jose Molina's 143.5 to 64.1 for Mathis. The framing numbers don't include the beginning of Jose Molina's career so it is possible that between 1999 & 2007 he was a horrible framer. It's also possible that Mathis was an amazing framer between 2005 & 2007 when there is no framing data. But the data Fangraphs has (2008 & onwards) says Jose Molina is a better framer & it isn't even close.

    I've made a roster exclusively composed of players who were either born in Louisiana or played here in college or the minors.
    I started with an honorable mention of Warren Morris, rWAR of 2.9, solely for the most iconic hit in college baseball history. He was third in Rookie of the Year voting in 1999, but injuries prevented him from progressing at all in the pros.
    My lineup is:
    Brad Hawpe at RF (rWAR of 4.5 and 1-time All Star, received MVP votes in two seasons);
    Endy Chavez at CF (squeaking in with an rWAR of exactly 5.0 but with no individual accolades other than 2002 September NL Rookie of the Month and 5 double plays turned in 2004, the most of any outfielder that year);
    Mike Morse at LF (rWAR of 4.0, 19th in MVP voting in 2011 and 2014 World Series winner);
    Pat Listach at SS (rWAR of 4.4, 1992 ROY and 18th in MVP voting that year, was absolute hot garbage at the plate after that season);
    Sean Berry at 3B (rWAR of 4.8, had 6.2 WAR spread across the 1995-1998 seasons but he immediately threw in a -2.1 WAR season in 1999 which got him back to the list of eligible players here);
    Mike Fontenot at 2B (rWAR of 4.2, 2010 World Series winner despite not making a plate appearance in that series, solid player who most notably logged a .909 OPS despite only hitting 9 homers in 2008);
    Logan Morrison at 1B (rWAR of 3.9, had OPS+ of 123 in his rookie season and 133 much later in his career, overall just a solid offensive player);
    and finally Lenny Webster at C (rWAR of 3.3, his career really took a nosedive after 1995 offensively, but he hung around the bigs in a bit-part catching role for over a decade. Only logged 100 games or more once in his career).

  • @CadChamberlain
    @CadChamberlain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Steve Balboni is an easy sleeper. Sexual presence is off the charts. 181 homers, 101 OPS+. 7 straight seasons of 17+ homers, 5 of 23+. 2 straight seasons with MVP votes. An impressive -7.6 dWAR at first base.
    Another fun fact, he had a 3 hit game in his last career game and his nickname was Bye Bye.
    Another another fun fact, the 2 guys he hit the most homers off of were Frank Tanana and Dave Stieb. Also his 3 career walk-off home runs came off of all-star closers including Rollie Fingers and Dennis Eckersley.
    I think I love Steve Balboni
