I also had my second baby when my autistic daughter was almost 3. Hugs. They are now 4 and almost 7. It’s hard! Dissociating is not necessarily a bad thing, it helps us cope. That being said there really are some great tips here.
Thank you so much for this great advice! You’re so down to earth, kind and very genuine and I have been so encouraged listening to you! I also loved the calming tools that you emailed to me, so helpful!
Hi Alexis ,new subscriber here ,l've recently started to watch your videos and l love them and the help they bring to my life,l had a really bad postpartum depression and l was able to get past the hardest stage of my life but there are still moments even tho my baby is 13 months old l feel so down on a daily basis and full of rage ,theres so much guilt in me that l want to have a second one in order to compensate for the time l lost wirh my first born being in hospitals getting well, but l think its a rushed decision whats ur advice? How much age gap is the best in between children,if you can respon l 'd be so happy because l feel stuck and overwhelmed with guilt Thank You for yourvideos❤️
My girls are a little under 2 years a part… and I don’t recommend that! We have been waiting to try for a 3rd because I am now seeing how much our kiddos are needing from us (regulation wise) under the age of 3. In order to create a secure attachment, I’m focusing on meeting her needs.. so when I have another I can give my full attention to that kiddo. With that being said, I hear you on the wanting a “second chance”. I was stuck there for a very long time.. as I SO badly want to experience a normal postpartum period with no NICU. There is so many questions I want to ask haha.. but I would begin digging deeper into the feelings you have surrounding the guilt.. what need you are trying to meet.. and then looking into a plan/path forward! ❤️
now there is a question i always wondered, is it less stressful or easier being a working lone women(no husband or kids) or being a working mom (kids and husband) or stay at home mom ( kids older than 2 years at least because less than 2 years is crazy stressful even though it's a fun to watch you kids learn and deal with the world)
You’re not just a stay-at-home mom, you’re a work-from-home mom. If you have a job, it doesn’t make sense for you to talk about doing all the chores. There are even stay-at-home moms with no jobs who still have husbands who contribute to housework, like my husband.
Are you directly saying I’m a work from home mom? Or that if you stay home with your kiddos you are a work-from home mom! I so appreciate you taking the time to comment, I can see how much being a SAHM means to you ❤
Currently with a 2 month old and an autistic 3 year old I de-stress by dissociating 😅 thanks for the ideas ❤
Dissociating is such a common coping tool. I'm glad you found these helpful. I appreciate you being here!! ❤️
