Hey Mark, thanks for all info. I live in Brooklyn NYC and I want to cut my cable cord. Any suggestions on a great antenna for my zip? 11206.

I would watch some videos from the Antenna Man here on TH-cam. He has quite a bit of very useful information on his channel. Good Luck. I've been off cable for over 3 years now and do not miss it other than I am not able to watch NESN which carries the Bruins and Red Sox. I could stream it, but is at least $35/month which is not worth it.

the round elements are for UHF and the dipole is for VHF. I'm actually surprised you get a good signal off your deck, much less inside your house. Everybody's place is different. Not sure how flat your space is or how much tree coverage you have. To get a good signal on my antenna, I had to put it in the attic. I learned something today about the HDHomerun app. I didn't know they had a native app for MacOS, nor that it would give you signal information. I want one now :)

I live in a very hilly area with quite a few trees… to be honest I’m surprised that I get as many channel as I do. Once the leaves come off the trees I will rescan to see if it is any better.

If you look at a map, I am in the general area where RI, MA and CT come together.

Where are you getting 800 gb/s download Internet from? That's faster than anything I've ever seen or heard of on the market including T1 and fiber optic direct lines.

    Hi Mark, Great video!.
I live right in Rochester,MA and have the same ClearStream 4V antenna from BJ's! I have it mounted in my attic at a window facing Northwest. What is the video encoder you use to elevate running coaxial cables? And please tell me what is the signal strength meter your using? THANKS again for a great video!

I’m using a HD Homerun and I do not use a signal strength meter. I have had minimal issues watching due mainly to weather

I’m still using it today and have had zero issues. I only have to change it’s direction every now and then due to leaves on the trees

I think that to receive an digital signal, you may need a better antenna than you once had to pick up analog signals. I once owned an RCA antenna that had a built-in amplifier, had a "sat-like" dish to it, had a 12 position UHF/VHF knob, very long rabbit ears, and you could put any coax cable into it that you wanted. I could pick up any local channel that were available at the time except 1(ABC required a big outside antenna--more than 50 miles away and we live in a tree infested area). So, I was able to get all available networks except 1 in a tree infested area in the analog days. I bought a similar RCA antenna to the one I used to own that I added an amplifier to and that had BOTH a dish and a metal ring, thinking that would work, but--in the same environment--all I got was 1 station!

I just bought one, want to pick up channels that are 62 miles away, I live in an apartment, would it pick it being inside? it says indoor/outdoor. Ordered it from Walmart. Know probably be better outside, can always take it back if it doesn't, they don't charge on returns, take it back to the store, they'll send it off.

Depends on the terrain, weather and the strength of the station’s signal. I would check www.antenna.org… enter your zip code and it will give you a list of stations
