    Its strange to me that so many people are having jimbos fail in weeks. I prepped my work car by using a high PH soap. Then i clayed. It sits outside 24/7. I live in the north east. I take it threw a tunnel wash atleast once a week. It went 1 month before i applied more. If it was a chore to apply id probabaly would have left it on longer before topping it off. Its sooo easy to apply. Full sun no streaking and easy wipe off.

    Honestly for 1 month, All 3 look weak. You better off buying a gallon of Meguiars xpress spray wax and get similar results. maybe better for a similar price. With inflation, honesty, we can't trust any of these companies no more. Everything etting diluted. No way after a month, these products should this weak. Just a few years ago, the bench mark was 2-3 months at least before it start lookin like it did in this video for a semi premium product

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am giving Cerakote a pass as the weaker spot near the bottom is most likely from tape and redoing the meguiars section. Higher up the hood it’s performing okay and it was SO much easier to work with.

    I bought Jimbo's, I am no expert in detailing whatsoever. Brand new paint job. Allowing 6 weeks to cure, I took my car to my detailer had him wash and apply the hard as shells. After a month in the desert of Southwest Arizona a few sand/wind storms. A couple rains i took it to the detailer for a wash. I asked him if we needed to reapply and he said "nope, It beaded off just fine and didn't need to dry much". Maybe the desert sun baked it in good?

    I'm currently testing 23 International Spray Products, including Jimbo's. On my first 6-week check-in, 3 products had taken fairly serious hydrophobic hits. I sprayed them with a water spot remover, & they all completely came back. So they were just clogged. I bet yours are too. You should try it. Thanks much.

    • @sheepstardetail

    • @larrysing
      @larrysing 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It has nothing to do with water spots in this case. The chemical in the water spot remover “unclogs” the particles that cause the spray coating to lose its hydrophobics.

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s similar in feel to BSD, but its main “weirdness” is that you actually need to work it in. The instructions are actually quite clear and direct. Apply with a microfibre pad and go over it a few times then buff. If you still have high spots a damp microfibre will knock them down and not harm it.

      @sheepstardetail Thanks.. I don't mind working it in..I just need it to last like 5 to 6 months. The meguiars hybrid paint coating is doing great for that but they are discontinuing it for their ceramic spray in this video which clearly is not as good.

    Been using nufinish ceramic (old version of graphene) with really outstanding results, the beading is probably secondly only to sonax brilliant shine detailer but it has way more durability. Its a shame the graphene is more difficult to use, the ceramic version was really easy to use, I can even use it on glass without streaks.

    • @sheepstardetail
      @sheepstardetail  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found the ceramic to be pretty decent too, but the hydrophobics on graphene (at least in my experience) to be better and longer lasting. It’s a shame it’s a grabby product, for most people it would be a great choice.

      Now, I haven't tried any of these you have here.
      I live in Sweden.
      However, I have tried several other similar products.
      Some shampoos and snow foam clog the protection so it stops working.
      Even if they are PH neutral, they clog the protections.
      But there is the shampoo that dissolves it.
      Carpro and the like.
      It clears the pores of the shields.
      Personally, I have good success with Geyon PPF which I used mostly for the rims.
      Of course it smells like fly rust remover but is a good shampoo.
      Geyon came out with something similar to revive the shelter again.
      Many say it reminds them of their PPF Shampoo.
      I bought their PPF once it came on sale in a store.
      Bought like 2 gallons of it so it lasts a very long time.
      I use other shampoo also take PPF sometimes.
      Some protection that is affordable is Sonax BSD.
      If you dilute it 1:1 with distilled water, you have double the amount and it lasts about the same amount of time.
      Then it won't be as sticky when you thin it out.
      Considering how it performs diluted, it is a difficult protection for the price the product costs.
      Sure some Turtle Wax, Fusso Coat also work well.
      If you want good protection for a low cost, my advice is Tac System Moonlight.
      I like the way it looks on the paint gives a warm emission like carnuba wax does.
      Tac System Moonlight has given me the same performance as Fusso coat.
      But the Tac System is nicer to work with and goes a little faster too.
      Fusso stinks in the smell.
      I like to layer the Tac System over a much more durable ceramic cover that lasts 2-5 years.
      As a Top Coat.
      It is an affordable protection that gives a nice appearance to the paintwork.
      I get that protection for around 9 to 12 months on the cars with TS Moonlight.
      I compared it to Geyon Can Coat they are similar but I prefer TS Moonlight of them both.
      Both are easy to work with and provide good protection for the cars.
      The two are good if you don't want to add long-term protection.
      Or add Sonax BSD a little now and then it works more like a sealant than a detailer is my opinion.

    I tried Jimbo's Hard as Shell. I paid full price and it was a big FAIL. I fully prepped the paint on 2 different cars. Let the product cure for the full 7 days. Drove the cars in the rain after 7 days of cure. And then washed the cars at week 2 for the first time with PH neutral car soap. After 1 wash, both cars failed to bead any water along the sides of the cars exposed to splashing from the rain. What a poor product with no longevity. I didn't bother asking for a refund....too much hassle to return the product. I did reach out to tell about my experience but Jimbo claims I must be in the minority. Sounds like lack of longevity is a built in "feature". No thanks. There are much cheaper and better products out there. I won't be buying any more Jimbo products.
